We kick off this holidy weekend with Belmont at Saratoga 4 Day event. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will attack two "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11); GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:
R1: 5
R2: 1, 3 Cost: $ 10.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R6: 2, 3, 7
R7: 3, 6, 7
R8: 1, 2, 6, 7 Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R9: 4, 5, 8
R10: 1, 3, 4, 10
R11: 5 ,6, 8 Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(1) BEAUTY REIGNS is who I want in this G3 Victory Ride for three year old fillies. She didn't get away from the gate that well in the Jersey Girl and it cost her. She draws the rail so she figures to save ground and come with her late kick. There is plenty of speed signed to set her up.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 1 w/ 3, 4 Cost: $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 5:
(5) LAST MANGO woke up last time when Irad took over. That was an easier group but she did it very easy. A similar effort is probably enough today as the others have been struggling lately. .
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 5, 7 Cost: $ 18.00
We'll use (5) Last Mango in R5 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(2) Iron Orchard or (3) Birch Run in the 6th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 5 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
Both (4) SKYLANDER and (5) MARGIN OF AIR have been going at it for the last two races, but I'll give the nod to Skylander, who goes out for the second time for a new outfit. His speed figures are tops in this group if he can find his winter form. (8) SUNDAESWITHSANDY must overcome that outside post and find a spot to save some ground. If Manny can work some magic, that gives her a good shot against this group.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 4, 5, 8 Cost: $ 18.00
Race 10:
(1) BEYOND LUCKY will take the shortest path around the Spa oval. She has speed and cuts back to this 5.5F sprint. A lot to like with Saez taking the ride. (3) LA SALVADORENA was gaining late coming off a long layoff. This gal looks live with Prat staying for the re-ride. (4) LESLIE'S HUMOR is tough both to play or leave off your tickets. She has the connections and a speed figure or two that match up well. If she's ready, she's a player. We'll also include the Mott runner (10) TALES OF THE HEART with Jr up. She has a nice closing kick if the speeds back up.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 3 w/ 1, 3, 4, 10 Cost: $ 18.00
Race 11:
(5) KEY ACTRESS has speed to control. If Javier can settle, she draws nicely to save ground and dictate the tempo. Others have shown some speed, so the first two furlongs could decide her fate. (8) CLIFFS was a decent 3rd in her debut sprinting. Now she goes long and switches to grass. With Arch underneath, she figures to be just fine. Throw in Jose, and she becomes my top choice. Brown scratches the favorite and leaves in (6) PEAK HYPE. She has been up here waiting for the meet to open and adds L1 for her debut. She'll come down from that 8:1 ML, but half may be a bargain.
