Belmont at the Big A kicks off another week as October hits the calender and a cool feel in the air. We have eight on this Thursday with 5 coming on the grass. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double starting in R2 (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 3-5). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 6-8). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Dutrow claimed (5) CELESTRIAL GLAZE two back and he rewarded him with a nice 2nd place finish against similar. They now go a little farther and give the keys Rosario. He doesn't win much but the barn change could help in that department.
I’ll use (4) Crushed It and (7) Flying Liam underneath for the exacta.

We’ll also use (5) Celestrial Glaza in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
(3) FORGIVING SPIRIT goes out for the first time for Rice. She has a way of getting them to show up as she spots them well. He drops slightly and could give the heavy favorite, (9) MASTER OF ARMS a run for his money. He too drops down to the basement, which most times is a negative when they drop several spots. We'll use defensively and include a wise guy with (1) FITZPATRICK in here. He ran well two back, posting a decent speed figure coming back off a layoff. It may have taken too much out of him as his next out was dull, losing by 4 lengths to Spirit. I like the short rest and the bullet work leading up to today.

Race 7:
(8) GRAYOSH may have found the right group. She's been facing slightly better this year, and they figure to have her ready to go today. The other Brown, (2) FUN WITH FLAGS, has similar running lines as her stablemate. Both look strong against the others in here. The sleeper is (4) AVENUE NIEL. They tried synthetic and cut her back but didn't threaten up north of the border. Maybe the switch to Sanchez works out.

Race 8:
(1) GARDEN OF GRACE is knocking on the door as Weaver finds an easier spot for her. She'll save some ground and come running at the end. (2) TAHILA also drops and cuts back. Her sprints have been good facing MSW, so the class relief should make a big difference. (5) FIVE DOZEN ROSES tried turf last time and she liked it. If the other two take the afternoon off, she gets it done today.
