Friday racing at BAQ and we have the 9 race card covered. We are going to look to cash in some tickets headed into a busy weekend of racing. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $5.00 Early Double:
R1: 2
R2: 6, 7
Cost: $10.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 2, 4, 5, 12
R5: 1, 2, 4
R6: 2, 5, 7
Cost: $36.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 4, 6, 7, 8
R8: 1, 5
R9: 2, 4, 9, 10
Cost: $ 32.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
All four are coming off a bad race where they were backing up at the end. The only one with an excuse is (1) DAUFUSKIE ISLAND. He stumbled and steadied throughout the race and just called it a day through the stretch. His races prior to that one should be enough to make him the horse to beat in here. Risk Profile looks risky on the drop and the other two look cheap.
We’ll try to cash on a double and use (4) Ginnsu Warrier and (12) Dream Of A Day in the 4th.
$ 10.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 30.00
$ 7.00 DD 1 w/ 4, 12 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(4) RECKLESS SPIRIT has been close in his last three times at this level. Castellano steps in and Bond is off to a good start at this meet. It’s worth noting that his last win came on this course and this group seems easier than the ones he’s been facing. (7) WAR STRATEGY finished ahead of Reckless at the Spa and has speed to make him dangerous. With the soft ground, some times closers have a tough time reeling in loose front runners. (8) VOLIERO is fresh off the claim and goes out for a hot barn. His last three speed figures match up well to this group.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 4, 7 w/ 4, 6, 7, 8 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
It’s (5) BABY YODA’s race to lose as he drops from the G1 Forego to this. I wouldn’t talk you off if you wanted to single this guy as he does appear better than these but the 1M is something he hasn’t tried yet. I’ll try to beat Baby with the deep closer (1A) BOURBON CALLING. He seems to need 1M or more and the other horses enter all have speed. The pace looks hot and this guy will benefit the most. Gomez went to Parx for a test drive a week or so ago so Jacobson plays the weight game. We’ll just use these two to get us to the finale leg.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 3, 5 Cost $ 12.00
Race 9:
Both (10) FAST COREY and (4) CLASSIC LYNNE want and need the lead. If one of these fillies is left alone up front, either can take them the whole. If they both break well, that bodes well for two closers to settle it late. Both (2) DIVA READY and (9) I’M BUZZY are cutting back to 6F and like to do their running late. With several going here, these two should get the perfect set up. I’m leaning more on I’m Buzzy as Franco takes over and ran well facing better last time, first time off the claim.
