A perfect Fall day on this Friday at Belmont at the Big A. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:
R1: 3, 4
R2: 6, 9 Cost: $ 20.00
Little Pete's $ 3.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 1, 2
R5: 6, 8, 9, 10
R6: 6, 10, 11 Cost: $ 24.00
Big Pete's $ 3.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 3, 5, 9
R8: 2, 7, 8, 11
R9: 2, 4, 5, 8 Cost: $ 48.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(2) MR PAPAGIORGIO was coming off a short layoff and the mud and 9F got him. I think the 1M here and dry track is more to his liking. He has some speed so he figures to sit just off the pace and then let Santana let him loose late.
I’ll use (4) Top Gun Rocket and (6) Wynstock underneath for the exacta.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 2 w/ 4, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (2) Mr Papagiorgio in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(1) Shades Of Jade and (2) Lots Of Kisses in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 2 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
Rice comes prepared in this late Pick 3. Five horses entered in the sequence. (5) FISCAL DRAG is the speed, but the drop is a little scary. He may be setting up (3) CAT FAST to mount a late charge. I'll include but try to beat them both with (9) DOWN THE LINE. He showed some speed last time and improved several speed figure numbers with some time with the Quick barn. A nice bullet followed that effort.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 3, 5, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
(2) WILL NOT BE SWAYED will go first time off the Rice claim. That was a sharp win, so they don't need to improve much. Her stablemate, (12) WATDOYOUSAYJOSE draws in off the AE's and was another sharp winner in her debut. Both look playable. (8) HUE beat NW2L last time, and there are not many in here with more than two wins. She too has a partner, and that one may play the role of a rabbit to set her up. Another one that will like a fast pace is (7) TOP OF THE TABLE. She couldn't settle in here last and lost several lengths behind runners throughout the race. Franco shut her down through the lane, and that's why I like the move to Castellano. She tries turf again and is positioned outside for clear sailing.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Exacta 7, 8 w/ 2, 7, 8, 12 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
Brown, Rice, and Pletcher will attract most of the attention. (5) NYQUISTADOR drops and adds L1, (2) VINTAGE VINO cuts back and also drops, and (4) THORSNESS just missed two back at this level. All three are a must-use for me, but I want the other Vin Rosso, (8) NO MERLOT. Her last two turf attempts were very good 2nd place finishes, so the grass is what she wants. Not surprising with Kitten's Joy underneath. Kimmel sticks with Rivera, who is doing okay here.
