A perfect Fall day on this Friday at Belmont at the Big A with 3 races still on the turf. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:
R1: 5, 6
R2: 1, 4 Cost: $ 20.00
Little Pete's $ 3.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 6, 7
R5: 3, 4, 5, 7
R6: 1, 4, 8 Cost: $ 24.00
Big Pete's $ 3.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 2, 5, 9
R8: 1, 3, 4
R9: 1, 5, 8, 9 Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Unless you like one of the first-timers, (4) PINKY BRIER has a good handle on this field. She sports a speed figure that towers over those that have run. The addition of Prat helps her cause, and I don't see one of the firsters making any noise. Mott and Hennig are dropping their runners for a tag and can come running late for the minors.
I’ll use (5) Lucianna's Honor and (7) My Devine One underneath for the exacta.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 5, 7 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (4) Pinky Brier in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(6) Activist Investing and (7) Trikari in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 4 w/ 6, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(5) SOCIAL HOUR is dropping several levels and is the one to beat. Prat will get him involved early and try to open up turning for home. Manny will try to stick with him early with (9) CHARLIE'S EXPRESS and maybe even outrun him early. These two should battle most of the way. That's why I'll lean a little more on (2) TARPAULIN. He has some late kick and should get the setup he needs. The 7F works in his favor as the top two may have an issue with that extra furlong.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 5, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
(3) NOTAH comes right back first time off the Maker claim to win against cheaper. He may have found the right field to make it two in a row but loses Prat to the Brown runner (1) CULTIVATE. That just may be a business decision for future mounts. He did win his debut though and will take some money. The interesting one to me is (4) ICAN. He has several obstacles to overcome. He comes off a 6-month vacation, ships in from Churchill, and meets older gents for the first time. In his favor, both the barn and Franco are in a zone right now, and he's faced some 3-year-old stakes company. There's enough speed for him to come running late, and at 5:1 ML, I'm willing to take a shot that he can handle all the above.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Exacta 3, 4 w/ 1, 3, 4, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(1) NANO MAN is dropping back down to where he's been competitive before. The hedge may be an issue, though, as he could get shuffled back, so the start is crucial for him. (9) MARCUS GIFT is the one for me. He has been keeping good company, and they make the switch to Carmouche. They will likely stalk and come running late. (8) KORRONGO has the best last-out speed figure and can get loose up front if the others don't pay attention. The wise guy in this finale is (5) PRINCE OF DANCE. He's lightly raced and bred to sprint on the grass. This is his first attempt at doing just that.
