We have ourselves a nice ten race card at Belmont today in which we are going to attack a pair of pick 3 plays. It also looks like we have some bigger fields to bet in to, so let us find some winners! I will be keying in on races 5-7, while Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. I will also be including my "Play of the Day" on a race I believe we can maximize some vertical action in. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
I think the Clement favorite in here is beatable and going to take some better price horses to win this one. The horse I really like in here is on the outside in (11) Rosey's Peach. Speed does not typically transfer over from dirt to grass, but I think this horse actually improves her trip on this surface. I also think the stretch out will be exactly what this horse needs to find her footing and challenge to win this one late. I also will be including the other Clement horse, (4) Lyn B, who has been training well and looks to be a strong player here. Will also be including the remaining entry in (1A) Cara's Dreamer who showed closing ability on grass at 5 1/2 furlongs and this stretch out should be handled well by this filly.
$5.00 WPS 11 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 1,4,11 w/ 1,4,9,11 Cost: $18.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
Nine horse field in this low level claiming field with some experienced horses in here. This is the type of race where I think it only comes down to the trip the horse gets, so difficult to pick this race based only on past performances. For that reason, I am going to go four deep in here. My top selection is going to be (5) Financial Freedom who I think will get an aggressive ride from Dylan Davis and be on the lead early. I think that this horse is in good enough form for being a 9 year old to maintain the lead throughout and could try and steal this one by going wire to wire. (4) Mills is the senior of the bunch, 10 years old, but looks to be in pretty good form for this level and this distance produced a win for him last time out, so will include. (7) Later Cat is an interesting horse in here and I will need to include on my ticket. The horse is stretching out after decent showings at 6 furlongs in closing ability. I am thinking this horse sits behind the lead and comes strong down the stretch. My last play will be (9) Scarf it Down who I am throwing last race out for him and focusing on his last showing at Belmont. This horse has the ability to be up close to the lead in here and may Jose Ortiz can work out the best trip of the bunch.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 4,5,7,9 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
I love these maiden special weights on dirt with mostly firsters. (8) Siesta Kew will improve from last time out and will be forwardly placed from the gate by Jose Ortiz. I think this horse is a really strong play in here and is my top selection. (3) Tangerine Dream is another horse who showed a good run first time out and we should anticipate improvement this second time out. I think an aggressive ride is ahead of her and will have a chance to win this one. My last play is going to be a firster from the Brad Cox barn in (6) ByHubbyHelloMoney. This horse has been consistently training and training well at that. Brad Cox sends out winners first time out and this looks to be a contender in here that I want on my ticket.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 3,6,8 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
I like our chances of making it to this leg and that is why I am spreading out a bit in this crowded seventh race. (4) Mcerin is going to be my top selection in here with the cut back in distance and being able to find the lead early and challenge this claiming level to try and keep up. With that said, I think there are some horses to the outside of this horse that will put some pressure on him. (10) Ian Glass will be on a mission to find the lead and wire this field and I think this horse has a chance to do it, so will include. (12) Ghost Giant is dropping in class in to this one and getting some distance relief as well. I think this horse will be my closer late to run down the tiring horses battling up front. (14) Dirty dropped in to this one from the outside post and oozes speed. I think this horse will be a stalking type early and push out wide around the last turn and be a strong player here.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex Box 4,10,12,14 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
I will spread out here as it looks like a very competitive bunch. (1) VARIANT PERCEPTION is where we’ll start though. They tried sprinting but this Curlin wants more ground and the 1M one turn seems right. Jose jumps up so we’ll use on top. (7) BAD GUY always seems to come up short, but his two solid Spa trips may have him set up for his return to Belmont. (5) THE LAST ZIP is the speed and that’s always dangerous if left alone. (8) QUIET OUT EAST likes this turf course and Davis is riding good right now. Worth a shot at this price.
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,5,7,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
The three favorites look the part here. I’m expecting (3) CRYSTALLE to come out swinging here. She ran well off the layoff last year and found an easier group than she’s been facing. (4) CAPITAL STRUCTURE is from Brown and could be a runner as she won at first asking. Acid test today (5) LOGIC N REASON gets the combo of Rosario and Clement in her corner. The last time she had Joel up on the grass, they made it a winning one.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex Box 3,4,5 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
We’ll focus on the outside runners to close this Pk3 out. Fav (13) LOVE ME TOMORROW has to be considered because she may be lone speed. The outside post may be her toughest foe today though. If Jose can navigate to the rail, she might just do it. I’m hoping for the inside runners to push the issue, so I landed on the best closer in this group. (10) CRICK has zero speed, but likes to come late. She ran well for the bug two back and has some sharp breezes for her return to Big Sandy. I’m all in with this gal to get there today. Both (11) VITANZA and (12) SAINTE MERE EGLISE have similar stalking styles and will try to sneak into the exacta.
