We are looking to carry some of the momentum in to this Thursday card at Belmont from our two cashed tickets on Sunday. We are sticking with our pick 3 plays where I will be focusing in on races 4-6, and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 7-9. If you have any other angles that we may not have touched in our race descriptions, then please let us know on Twitter (@PetesPicks1) and we can discuss. Make sure to subscribe to receive notifications of any posts and weekly emails with pick selections. GOOD LUCK.

Race 4:
I really do not like the morning line favorite, (5) FlashPackinBarbie, and going to try and beat here. But saying that, I am going to leave on the ticket just in case this horse shows up after the almost year layoff and significant class drop. I like Reylu to seek the early lead with (7) DublinorNothin and force (2) Let's Maga to go a little faster then she would like to go and I think it opens up the lanes for two closers. I really like (6) Wicked Title to have a nice stalking position and have the most left at the end. This horse is moving back to a claiming field and I am thinking this will equate to a more sustained and powerful run. (3) Rousey also looks to be in good form to close on this field and I think Manny will have this horse in great position to do just that late.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 2,3,5,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
(9) Tequila Sunday is going to be dangerous in this spot with Irad aboard again. This horse is coming in with a win last time out and a bullet workout leading in to this race. I think this horse is going to be live and a must play for me. (6) Stay Fond is also a play here for me with the cut back in distance a bit. I think Dylan Davis has been racing much more aggressive and if he sends this horse to the front early, then I think this horse hits the wire first. Jose Ortiz has a horse that can get the job done at this level, (8) Malarkey, but I am not in love with him here. I prefer the other two to this one, but will include on the ticket to make sure we aren't beaten by Jose Ortiz/Linda Rice connections.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$4.00 Ex 9 w/ 6,8 Cost: $8.00
$2.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 6,8,9 Cost: $8.00
Race 6:
I don't like, I love (3) Mister Winston to remain undefeated in his short career. I love the stretch out and the move to Castellano aboard. This horse has been training very well and I think that Castellano has himself a nice closer down the stretch here. This horse beat an American Pharoah offspring, Ima Pharoah, last time out and that horse remained ran a decent second five days ago; which entices me even more. I also have to include (7) Creed in this one who ran away from a maiden special weight field at this distance, albeit it was on a muddy track. I think that this horse will shoot to the early lead and do not want to lose to a wire to wire horse here. I do not know what to expect from (2) Life Changer in this one with the stretch out and the speed this horse possesses. I will include on my ticket, because the unknown of what to expect here is good enough for me to play. I like (4) Edge of Fire in this one, but I do not think that this horse can sustain a winning run here against this field, so will leave off the ticket.
$4.00 WPS 3 Cost: $12.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,3,7 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
Surprise, surprise, it’s Pletcher vs Brown to kick off this late Pk3. (3) SPINOFF will let his stable mate (2) SNIPER SHOT do all the dirty work up front, then come with his rally turning for home. This pair will not allow the Brown runner a breather throughout the race. Jose will have to navigate (9) COMPLEXITY smartly to beat the top two. He’s won on Big Sandy in the Champagne last year to put himself on the map. He certainly can do it again as he kicks off his 2020 campaign. (6) NO DOZING has been training well lately and can easily sneak into the exacta if the above three go at each other.
$3.00 Ex 3,9 w/ 2,3,6,9 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
It’s Brown again who has two in this Mount Vernon. I prefer his fresh off the claim runner (3) WAR CANOE. This now 7yr old Mare hasn’t shown signs of slowing down and has been with Chad for 7 Mo now. She also get Irad for the first time as well. What’s not to like. (1) FIFTY FIVE is a true professional that keeps winning. She hasn’t lost to NY Breds since Aug of 2018. She’ll be right there again and is a must use to advance. (6) KREESIE almost got to 55 last year in this race and will be right there again today.
$3.00 Ex 1,3 w/ 1,3,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 9:
I’ll use many here to close out this late Pk3. (2) HERWAZE will draw a lot of attention as she showed speed but settle for 4th only 4 lengths behind. I’m not a fan of the layoff though and will look to beat her. (10) CENTRAL CAPITAL finally got to the turf after two off the turf events. She ran an odd race, but was moving in the right direction through the stretch. I like the switch to Reylu who will get her into the race early and try to hang on. (4) APOLLO’S ABRAXAS takes the necessary drop and will try to stretch out. Cancel gets the mount and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him gun this one to the front. (3) GEN Z is a Tonalist, out of a Theatrical Mare who should be going long on the grass. She ran ok at big odds and will offer big value. I like her here to light up the board.
