We are going to do a joint pick 4 play today to close out the weekend at Belmont. We are headlined today by the First Defence in the 9th, and we will be including that race in our plays. We went 1 for 2 on our plays yesterday (Obviously, mine was the one to hit), and we are going to join together in taking down this late pick 4. I did tell Big Pete late on this change to a pick 4, so he sent a text on his plays in the first leg so will not be as detailed. Hand up, that one is on me. But let us dive right in; GOOD LUCK.

Late $0.50 Pick 4 Play:

R7: 3, 6, 8

R8: 1, 5, 6

R9: 1, 2, 4, 5

R10: 2, 4, 8, 10, 12

Cost: $90.00

Pick 4 Plays:

Race 7:

Big Pete:

He texted over that his top selection for this one is going to be (3) Giant Shoes with the move over to grass and coming from the red hot Brad Cox barn. He also said he wanted to include (8) Graded On a Curve and (9) Point Him Out.

$2.00 Ex Box 3,8,9 Cost: $12.00

Little Pete:

I like Big Pete's picks in (3) Giant Shoes, (8) Graded On a Curve, and (9) Point Him Out. I think we should include one more in this one that I found a liking to. My top selection is (8) Graded On a Curve, but I have a strong opinion on (6) Jimmy Jazz. I like that he is getting some moisture in the grass and be able to sit right behind what should be a healthy pace. I think that he will have a nice stretch drive to compete for this one.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex 3,6,8 w/ 3,6,8,9 Cost: $9.00

Race 8:

Big Pete:

I’ll lean on the closers to get there in this 6.5 sprint and take runners shipping in for the dough. (6) TORCH THE TRUTH won easy over the slop back in Jan will look to duplicate that effort with Javier up. Any left over moisture will help the cause. (5) ZOOMER has back to back wins coming into this race and attracts Irad. I think he gets the speed up front to make his late charge work for him. (2) WON AND DONE looks the fastest of the bunch. The question will be if others go or take back. If jocks choose to rate, Carmouche will nurse him all the way. Both outside runners want the lead too, so that’s why I’m giving the nod to the closers.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 1,2,5,6 Cost: $18.00

Little Pete:

I am writing this after seeing what Big Pete likes and I agree with his top selection of (5) Zoomer in this one. I just do not think we can leave off (1A) Mr. Dougie Fresh in this one with a hungry Manny Franco aboard. This horse has won on this track in the slop and the drop to a claiming race makes him a must play for me. I also like (4) Summer Bourbon who is looking for three in a row with Alvarado aboard. We will need to compromise a bit on our ticket; which is always the most important part of constructing a ticket.

$2.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,4,5,6,8 Cost: $16.00

Race 9:

Big Pete:

(5) WIN WIN WIN finally switched to the turf and he didn’t disappoint. He’s training well for his return and gets Johnny V. Brown has two Juddmonte runners entered and both will make their presence felt. (4) DELAWARE looks more like a sprint than his stable mate (1) FLAVIUS but I can’t leave either one off my ticket. (2) SOMBEYAY is no push over as well. He’s kept good company all of last year and has two strong 1M runs that put him right there for this one. I’ll use them all.

$3.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,2,4,5 Cost: $18.00

Little Pete:

I think that (5) Win Win Win is a single here for me. Johnnie V is racing his best right now and has a very dangerous horse right now. I like others in this one, but taking a stand in a race is always the smartest/toughest thing to do. Especially when you lose and doubt everything you stand for, but such a rush before the race goes off.

$5.00 WPS 5 Cost: $15.00

Race 10:

Big Pete:

Delacour scored earlier this week with Madita coming off the bench. Now sends firster

(12) OSAGE TREATY out to graduate with some swift breezes and some turf pedigree in her pocket. There’s nothing scary to report on the fillies that have already run so I’ll also include another first timer. (8) RESTRAINT OF TRADE is a City Zip bred to sprint on the Belmont turf. Throw in Brown and Irad and it’s a no brainer to include. (10) HENNI PENNY moves back to the turf and will try to duplicate his debut, which was the last time Johnny V was up. Ward enters (2) NIC AND ZOE with one thing on hs mind. Go as fast and as far as you can. They took a lot of money in his Spa debut so there might be something there. If Davis can control the front, they may not pass her.

8,12 w/ 2,8,10,12 Cost: $18.00

Little Pete:

In a field of unproven horses, I think we are required to include the horse that we somewhat know how they like to run. (4) Coin The Phrase has gotten caught on the lead in each of her races to far, except for the race on a sloppy track last time out. This horse could have a perfect trip from Reylu and not be caught in deep stretch and take this one. I also like (2) Nic and Zoe who has some bullet workouts leading in and there will be a significant improvement from last time out with the extra time she has had with Wesley Ward. (8) Restraint of Trade has the Ortiz Jr./Brown connection and that alone makes this horse a must play. Plus, bullet workout and daughter of City Zip just adds to it.
