We have ourselves a nice 9 race card today at Belmont, which is headlined by the Easy Goer in the 8th. We are going to attack a pair of pick 3 plays today that will cover races 4-9, so could technically combine and get a PK6 play but that is up to you. I will be keying in on races 4-6, and Big Pete will be keying in on races 7-9. We will each have some vertical plays in each of those races as well. If would like to have notifications sent to your email as to when we post a blog, then you can subscribe on the bottom of the homepage by just providing your email. GOOD LUCK.

Race 4:

With scratches we are left with six horses to work through. I am anticipating (3) Abiding Star and (8) Siding Spring to set up in an early duel to set some nice time fractions to set up three closers I like. (4) Noble Thought has nothing but redemption on the brain after a rough showing on slop and losing to (2) Musical Heart. I think the move back to grass and the lack of moisture in the ground will be enough for this horse to get it done; plus, NEVER hurts to have the best jockey in the world aboard in Irad Ortiz. Rosario has a closer on grass in (6) Willing to Speed and this race should set up well for this horse, so will need to be included. (9) Rapt is at the class where he should be with his experience and I think the firm turf will allow this horse to compete for the win here.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 4,6,9 Cost: $12.00

Race 5:

(11) Sandra's Mine has been the most consistent in her short career and is a must play against this field, but this race feels ripe for a bomb. (12) Magical Romance is one of those "bombs" that will benefit from being to the outside of the field and be able to shoot from the gate and sit either on the lead or right behind it. The cut back in distance is going to make this horse even more dangerous to me. (1) Saratoga Love has Rosario on grass and the significant class drop could wake this horse up, so will also be a play. (7) QuantitativBreezin has the Cox/Saez connection and I do not want to be beaten by those two; plus, the daughter of Central Banker could make this horse a strong contender first time out. My last play for the vertical is going to be a 20/1 morning line horse in (10) Empress Luciana who I think will have a nice showing on a firm grass surface and could have upset on the brain.

$3.00 WPS 12 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex 1,11,12 w/ 1,7,10,11,12 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

I have two tiers in this one with (3) Singular Sensation and (4) Holmdel Park being in the top tier and the two Michelle Nevin horses, (7) My My Michelle and (8) Princess Pinky, in the second tier. (3) Singular Sensation has been on the shelf since last summer, but the ability looks to still be there with the workouts and the mile distance looks to be the tune up to get back to the further distances and class; must play here. (4) Holmdel Park is being thrown back out there without a workout in between starts, which to me is a great sign that this horse is yearning to get back out there and win. If you want to make the ticket a little cheaper, then I think it is reasonable to have just those two horses on the ticket. For safety, I will include (7) My My Michelle who has a great name and has found a liking to this distance. Should expect this horse to be right up in the front early and could be there late if the fractions are decent. (8) Princess Pinky is somewhat of a closer play for me and looks to be in good form to have a great race. Manny is looking to stay hot, so going to include.

$3.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 3,4,7,8 Cost: $18.00

$1.00 Ex 7,8 w/ 3,4,7,8 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

What jumps off the page in this opening leg is that Irad shows up on (2) DISCRETIONARY MARQ. Both will stalk the speeds, then quicken when a seam opens up. (7) DOWSE’S BEACH is still producing at his age, but I’m guessing father time will catch up to him here. He’ll play a role and use his speed which is why I’m pointing to some closers. (6) OUTRAGEOUS BET returns to battle NYS Breds and has had some success on the Belmont lawn. Not the best ride for Jr last time as he’ll look to do better here. The most interesting runner to me is (8) BOURBON MISSION He hasn’t run a bad one on this course yet and exits a fast sprint vs open company. Look for him to get the better of his elder at a square price.

$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 2,8 w/ 2,6,7,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 8:

Only a field of three for this Easy Goer Stake. (4) SONNEMAN figures to be short odds and many will single. Probably the right play to save your bankroll as he looks better than the remaining two. The only other I’ll mention is (1) CELTIC STRIKER. He will be alone up front and Manny will try to steal it. I’ll include in case she gets away with some soft fractions.

$10.00 Double 4 w/ 1,6 Cost: $20.00

Race 9:

I’ll use many here to close out this late Pk3. The most interesting one is (1) UNICORN SALLY She moves back in against State Breds and has a sharp work last week for his return. Rosario will navigate and try to time it right for his 2020 debut. (8) GO FISH is a firster with some sharp drills in the AM and may have found the right bunch today. Favorite (12) FRESCO is deserving and cuts back to 7F. She’s a must use with Irad back aboard, but not a stand out. (6) HELENE JACQUELINE passed her turf test last time and there is plenty of room for improvement. She may find herself alone up front and get braver as the race goes on.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,6 w/ 1,6,8,12 Cost: $18.00
