Mandatory payout on the Empire Pick 6 today; which is rolling in $328,125. We will be playing a pair pick 3 plays which cover those 6 races and we may dump them in for a chance at the big pool. I will be focusing in on races 4-6, and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 7-9. We will have vertical action in each of those races as well. Hope we can all end our Father's Day weekend with some cashed tickets. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 4:

I landed on four horses in this one with (8) Charge Ahead being my top pick. I think the extra time that Rudy Rodriguez had with him after the claim will pay off second time out from the layoff. I think this horse is in better form and will be a handful in this one. I also have to include the other Rudy horse in (7) Bebe Banker who is only 1/20 in the win column, but consistently shows up and could be the field that does not have the ability to catch. (2) More Than Striking is getting back to the class where he has shown the most ability and already has proven the ability to go at this distance. I think this could wake the horse up and must be a play for me. My last pick is (3) Vitesse who is coming in off of an extended layoff, but the last time out was a gallup to victory and Michelle Nevin could have found the distance and class this horse needs to be at. Should be an exciting race!

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex Box 2,3,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Race 5:

I think this race is going to be a crap shoot, so landed on four again in this seven horse field. (2) Montauk Daddy is going to be my top selection in this one who should get bet down in this one and has the most upside to me. Jack and Noah just won on Friday and (2) Montauk Daddy is exiting a race with him where he stumbled in the start and still closed great ground. (3) Morning Breez has the speed to get to a stalking position early and close well so I will include, but I think there are better options in this one. (6) Cucina loves to sit back and wait for his opportunity to close and having Rosario aboard makes this horse a very dangerous one. I think the quick fractions will set this horse up for a great stretch drive. (7) Quarky is going to seek the lead with Saez and could have enough horse left to hold off the competitors.

$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,6,7 w/ 2,3,6,7 Cost: $18.00

Race 6:

(8) ChecksAndBalances has the connections and feels to me to be a very dangerous horse in this one. Chad Brown typically puts out firsters on grass that are more than ready to handle the field, no matter the class. I will include two others, but (8) ChecksAndBalances feels like the horse to beat here. (1) Tilsa had a nice sustained run first time out and getting a little distance relief and the Johnnie V enhancement. I have a feeling that this horse will shoot from the gate and try and wire the field. (7) Come Strong will be my last play with Saez aboard. This horse has shown the ability to close well late and this race could set up for a closer.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$4.00 Ex 8 w/ 1,7 Cost: $8.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

(5) HOT LITTLE HONEY doesn’t seem to like going long, so the cutback to 6F is probably the winning move. She’s already beaten some contenders here and attracts Irad. There should be plenty of speed to stalk and go by late. Single alert but, I don’t think we’ll get anywhere near that 4:1 ML. Rudy has a couple in but both of them like the front end. (8) WEDONTBELIEVEHER is consistent as has faced better since her maiden win. She’ll get more attention than her barn mate (4) OUR LADY OF LORETO. Loreto may be a little faster so the Paddock talk will be go with Loreto and come late with Wedontbelieveher. (3) STUNNING MUNNINGS ran her best race last time and just missed beating Honey. If Carmouche out rides the entry bug boys up front, she can pull off the stunning victory.

$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,4,5,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 8:

Ward will instruct Irad to go and don’t look back on (4) CHILI PETIN. She has speed and the City Zip’s love the lawn. There’s not many speeds to challenge her so she’ll have advantage. If someone joins her, there’s one closer that I’ll use on top (3) CALL ON MISCHIEF.She’s a nose from being undefeated on grass. She has some speed to keep close to Chili and will try to reel her in when Lezcano gives her the signal. I can’t pass on the 10:1 ML odds. (11) MISS J MCKAY will likely follow Mischief and gets an upgrade to Jose which we all know can make the difference when they get close to the wire. (8) LADY FATIMA is yet another closer that wakes up to run a big one. Davis has won on her on this surface so we’ll include incase the Chili gets too hot up front.

$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 3,4,8,11 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

Rudy finally sees the grass influence of Scat Daddy in (12) DIANNESIMPAZIBLE and gives her a shot. The sloppy run back in Oct has me convinced that the gress will be greener for him. Irad doesn’t hurt as well. ((11) ZIPALONG and Belmont winner, Franco, also will enjoy the switch back to turf. Her debut run back in Nov would be enough to beat these as he drops to the MCL ranks. (8) BRICCO is the only other one I’m interested in as Saez sticks around for some pocket change. He may have the best breeding of grass in this bunch and also drops. Your likely winner.

$7.00 WPS 12 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 8,12 w/ 3,8,11,12 Cost: $18.00
