Happy Father's Day everyone! It is a great day to spend with family and betting the ponies. We are going to look to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be locked into races 5-7 and Big Pete will be focused on races 8-10. Big Pete is taking the "Play of the Day" responsibility today because I am a nice guy. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 2, 6, 8, 9
R6: 4, 10
R7: 3, 5, 9, 10
Cost: $32.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 1, 2, 9, 10
R9: 1, 2, 6
R10: 2, 10, 11, 14
Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's "Plays of the Day":
Race 2:
(3) FUTURE VICTORY probably wants more ground so the 8.5F should help. Irad may have been too far back in their last and will likely be a little closer this time as there is not a lot of speed. The Brown runner is likely to take money so we might get the 9:2 ML on this guy.
(4) Mr Kringle moves back to turf and (1) Montatham picks up Johnny V. Both can come running at the end.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 3 w/ 1, 4 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Future Victory in R2 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use the Ward entry (1, 1A) and (7) Marayel in this 6F turf sprint.
$ 7.00 Double 3 w/ 1, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Race 5:
We’ll lean heavy on (8) OUT FIRST as she may get lost in the betting. She finished behind (2) Kinky Sox but was gaining on her after getting away slow. (3) Snicket has finished 2nd in all of her six turf sprints. Both of them will get a lot of attention at the windows. OUT FIRST has been running mostly on dirt but didn’t disappoint in her only turf try. She passed all but two in that race and now switches to Lezcano.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 8 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Out First Future in R5 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(4) Dunph and (8) O Shea Can U See
$ 7.00 Double 8 w/ 4, 8 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
The Clement horse I like in here is (6) Little Dutch Girl. I think this horse will be revved up for a stretch drive and Cancel deadly down the stretch. (2) Kinky Sox will be running a similar style race and I think worth the play after picking up Irad Ortiz.(8) Out First is the horse Big Pete likes, so I guess I will throw some money at the horse. My top pick is going to be (9) Infringement who is getting to grass the first time and this horse is keyed up and ready to run. I think with the firmer surface and staying at a similar level this horse will be poised to run a big one.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,9 w/ 2,6,8,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,8 w/ 2,6,8,9 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(4) Dunph is a tough horse in here and a must play. Irad should be able to sit on the lead or right behind it and will most likely just be a little too much for the field. I will cover with a late closing (10) Playwright who should get a nice ride under Saez and if the race blows up late then I like this horse getting the footing to run by tiring horses.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$5.00 Ex Box 4,10 Cost: $10.00
Race 7:
(3) Honey Pants is a horse I would typically like to try and beat, but the previous race was a good one to build off of and I think will run to the favorite odds today. (5) Lady Petrol is facing winners for the first time and Jose Ortiz is getting the mount for Chad Brown. This horse at 12/1 with the connections is good enough for me to give her a go in here. (9) Too Sexy is going to be waiting for the moment to go and should be shooting down the stretch on a mission. (10) Keota is ascending at the moment and Manny will give this horse a nice ride on the lead. That is where I think the winner will be.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,5,9,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 9,10 w/ 3,5,9,10 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
We’ll lean heavy on (2) AMERICANREVOLUTION. He tussled with Mandaloun in his debut before hitting some traffic. Pletcher took him off the Derby trail and he shows up here The works are steady and fair for his return and we’re expecting a big run today to kick off his campaign for bigger and better things later this year. (10) NEMO’S FORTUNE ran big first out, then ran into River Dog. The turf didn’t workout so the move to the proper surface and should offer a challenge late. The trainers’ goose egg is the only concern. (9) SINFUL DANCER may go off the favorite as both of his dirt tries are good enough to beat these. If AmericanRev needs one, he would be dangerous.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 9 w/ 1, 2, 9, 10 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
Not much more needs to be said about (1) RAGING BULL. He’s faced the best and has wins to show for it. Maybe they need a public workout as he drops into a G3 or maybe he’s getting a little older?? A must use but we’ll try to beat him. His Stable mate (6) FRONT RUN THE FED has been sprinting and will now tries to carry it 1M. Lezcano wins with him often and will make Bull earn it. This guy is poised for a big year as the torch gets passed to him today. I’m all in. (2) OLEKSANDRA will also stretch out and SHE faces the boys. She has a powerful kick so Belmont’s long stretch fits her style. We’ll try to juice up the exacta and look for (9) PENALTY to come late and pass some tiring horses.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 6 w/ 1, 2, 6, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
Cox has been on a roll this year and sends out an Effinex in this NYS MCL sprint. (2) BYHUBBYHELLOMONEY may want turf but the drop is what stands out here. She ran decent to get the show in her debut last year before going on the shelf. Why the drop though? I use the Al Khali filly (10) KHALI MAGIC. She showed speed on the dirt back in October. The move back to turf seems right and Englehart is having a meet. They convinced Jose to stick around for the nightcap. (11) WILLOW GROVE is very interesting as they move this Summer Front back to the turf. That makes sense as does Saez jumping on for the first time. I’ll look for her to close out this late Pick 3. (14) SOCIAL WHIRL draws in and drops for a tag so we’ll use as a savor.
