Happy Belmont Stakes Eve! We will be looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays today to carry some money in to the big day of racing tomorrow. I will be focusing in on races 5-7, and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We will have some vertical action in each of those races as well. Big time excitement headed in to this weekend, so hope you all are playing along! GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
After looking at each of the three races I feel pretty confident with a single in the 6th; which means I will be able to spread in the first and last leg of this one. Trust me, I will.. My favorite in this one is (4) Yellen with Jose Ortiz aboard and coming out of the Wesley Ward barn. This horse looks to me to prefer sprints and this crowd could be one where she has the most left in the tank. (7) Miss You Blues has the class drop and a bullet workout leading in, so leaving off my ticket would be a big mistake. I think this horse will be a strong contender here. (2) Mariposa D'Oro has some great workouts coming in and I think that the move to grass will benefit this horse immensely. (3) Lucky Lindsey is a class dropper as well and showed enough for me in her first career race to give her a play here at this lower level. (5) Translate is the daughter of Tonalist and steady workouts on her could make her a winner first time out, so will also include.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 2,4,7 w/ 2,3,4,5,7 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
This is where I landed on (3) Queen Kahen as my single. I think the move to bring this horse down to claiming competition and the move to Rosario will be too much for this crowd. That is pretty much it in this write up; Typically, everything I say that should happen on the track happens, right?
$6.00 WIN 3 Cost: $6.00
$4.00 Ex 3 w/ 2,4,6 Cost: 12.00
Race 7:
(9) Lovely La La is the horse to beat in this one and the cut back in distance will greatly benefit this horse's speed. I am looking for more coverage, so going to also include the two Brad Cox horses; (7) Out Of Trouble and (8) First Appeal. I think both of these horses will be in a stalking position and have enough left to challenge for the win. (5) VIP Nation is also another interesting play here with already beating one of my picks, (8) First Appeal. I think the move back in distance and class will also make this horse a strong contender. My last play is going to be Saez on the outside with (12) Short Pour who could benefit from a fast early pace and be close enough to be the best late.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 7,8,9 w/ 5,7,8,9,12 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Rudy has sobered up (6) SUMMER BOURBON quickly as he has produced three sharp races in a row off the claim. Guessing he didn’t like Jr’s ride last time and now opt’s for Rosario. Some speed signed on for them to stalk and get first jump for the wire. I like the switch to Saez on (9) THE CARETAKER but he usually comes up short. He’ll need the speeds to back up. (8) KAZMANIA has shown some life in both of his 2020 races and is running fast in the morning. I’m guessing McCarthy shipped in for this specific mount. I’ll take the 10:1 ML to go by them all.
$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 1,6,8,9 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
I’ll lean heavy on the two geldings here in the Sir Cat. (4) GUILDSMAN didn’t get the best trip last time so Walsh gives the keys back to Saez. I don’t think he’ll be too far off the lead through out and will be coming fast at the end. The extra distance and Saez will be the difference today. (7) CHIMNEY ROCK just got up last time and will be the favorite to do it again. Jose didn’t let Jack get too far away from them last time and I would expect the same today.
$5.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 1,4,7 Cost: $20.00
Race 10:
Both (10) TOPAZ BRIDE and (11) ROZIERE drop and return to the turf. Both registered a decent number on the lawn that clearly make these two the ones to beat. I like the Mare turf influence more in Topaz a little more (After Market), so I’ll give her the nod. (2) WALL EYE gets to go a little farther which will benefit this Quality Road who surprisingly is producing some turf runners. (12) LUCKY LATKES is a firster with some turf pedigree. Not a fan of horses being offered for sale in the debut but, it is Clement and Franco. We’ll use underneath.
