Looking to carry our big Sunday in to the start of the weekend racing in Belmont. We are going to focus on races 5-10 in a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be focusing in on races 5-7, and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We will also have some vertical plays in each of these races as well. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 2, 4, 9

R6: 2, 4, 6, 10

R7: 1, 2, 4, 6

Cost: $48.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 9, 10, 11

R9: 2, 3, 5

R10: 6, 7, 10, 11

Cost: $36.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

I am leaning towards the favorite, (9) Shiraz, to win this one, but not completely sold on this horse. I am thinking that this horse will engage in an early battle with (4) Jerome Avenue and the two of them will set the speed. I do not see any other horse being able to sustain a ride with these two besides (2) Impazible Odds. Which is the reason that I am going to go three deep in here, as I see any of these horses getting to the wire first. It will all depend on how the race shapes out. WE WILL SEE.

$2.00 Ex Box 2,4,9 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

I landed on four in this maiden claiming race. I am looking for a horse to try and wire the field of unprovens, so landed on both (4) G C Cam and (10) Shandian who I think both will look to do so. Then I looked at two horses who are exiting the same MSW race who did not show much at all, but with extra training they could be in better form to close on this field; they are (2) Spitball and (6) Not So Easy. If I had to pick my favorite in this one it would be (4) G C Cam to get to the early lead and not look back.

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex Box 2,4,6,10 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

I really like (4) Proven Reserves in this one to enjoy the stretch back out and have plenty left late to pass tiring horses. My second selection in this one is (6) I Love Jaxson who is a horse who loves the NY circuit and will be prepped and ready to go in this one from the Linda Rice barn; he is looking for his third in a row. (1) Its All Relevant is going to get some deserving money thrown at him and I will include on the ticket, but I fell in love with others in vertical plays. My last selection is going to be Jose aboard the (2) Felix in Fabula. This stretch out will be perfect for this horse and the slower fractions he should be expecting to get will only allow this horse to hang back a bit and have Jose set up to give this horse the go when ready.

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,4,6 w/ 1,2,4,6 Cost: $18.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Favorite (9) ASTORIA KITTEN will need to be on the ticket as she takes on fellow NYS fillies again. Her maiden win back in Sept here, will be enough to get it done. I’ll try to beat her though with (10) AMOS. Two solid runs last fall at Belmont and a good closing kick a couple of weeks ago when sprinting first time against winners. This Twirling Candy will enjoy the 1M distance to stretch her legs and attracts Manny. (11) PECATONICA was getting good just before she was put on the shelf for the winter. She not your typical win type, but has a good shot at hitting the board as many of these fillies are facing winners for the first time which is not an easy task to do.

$7.00 WPS 10 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 9,10 w/ 9,10,11 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

A short field for the Critical Eye, but many runners have a shot. (2) RATAJKOWSKI is your heavy favorite to get it done. She has a major advantage to control this all the way with the lack of other speeds. But today she faces some professional Fillies and Mares that usually bring their A game. I’m leaning towards (3) NO HAYNE NO GAYNE to get first jump on the fav and hold off the other fav. She’s improved in each of her 2020 starts which should set her up for a big performance today. The one to worry about will be the Brown entry (5) MORE MISCHIEF. She dominated in both her starts this year and shows no signs of letting up. Franco is 2 for 2 with her and looking for a Three-Pete.

$3.00 Ex 3,5 w, 2,3,5 Cost: $12.00

Race 10:

(6) ABBY NORMAL always seems to come up short. Had an excuse last time and now Donk makes his move to Jose. That should make this gal scary like Frankenstein. The danger will be (11) DEVILS RENDEZVOUS. She showed some speed last time when she tried turf, but found the distance to be an issue. I like the cutback to 6F here and with the lack of speed in this group, she can take them all the way. I’ll also include two firsters (7) SARATOGA LULLABY and (10) TUCK as all the others have proven that they can’t run.

$3.00 Ex 6,11 w/ 6,7,10,11 Cost: $18.00
