Forecast looks great today at Belmont and we have a nice 9 race card to handicap. We are going to look to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be locked into races 4-6 and Big Pete will be closing with races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race that we would like to maximize our bankroll on. We appreciate you taking some time to take a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R4: 2, 4, 7, 10

R5: 3, 4, 7

R6: 3, 4, 10, 12 Cost: $ 48.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R7: 2, 6, 7, 9

R8: 2, 3, 5

R9: 2, 6, 9, 10 Cost: $ 48.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

I'll take a shot against the likely favorite (3) Obsessed to start the late Thursday card. He figures to hook up early with (6) Liam's Fire and we'll hope they go at it right from the start. I'll look for the Uncle Mo gelding (4) Anzio Beach to come and get them late. Saez climbs aboard and we don't often get 12:1 on him. All of these struggle to win as they are looking for their 3rd win. It's worth noting that both of Anzio's wins are on Big Sandy. The other time he raced on it, he ran into a very sharp Joycee Has Pizzaz.

$ 5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $ 15.00

$ 2.00 Ex Box 3, 4, 6 Cost: $12.00

Race 2:

It's been a long time since (5) OUTRAGEOUS BET has crossed the finish line first and throw in that both trainer and jockey are 0-98 for this meet is not very encouraging. So why would I even consider making this OUTRAGEOUS BET?? Have you seen the field? All of them have trouble finding the winners circle. What I like about this gelding is that he returned to the grass last time and closed well to only get beat by 4 lengths in a quick 6F sprint. He gets the extra distance and now faces fellow NY Breds for this first time in a while. The public will hammer the (9) Ghost Giant so we're likley to get higher than the 6:1ML being offered.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 3, 5, 9 Cost: $ 18.00

We'll also try to cash in on Lil Pete's Best bet and play the early Daily double in R1 & R2

Race 1: $ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 5 Cost $ 7.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 4:

With the favorite, Kokopelli out, the race opened up a little. We use (2) Screamin' By and (7) Silky Blue as our two main contenders. I think Manny will try and find the lead early with Silky and challenge foes to pass her late. I really like Eric Cancel running on late to passthem all late. His inside post position should allow him to save ground throughout. (4) Fetching is the wild card in here. He finally moves in against fellow NY Breds and has been 1st or 2nd in 9 tries the last year and a half against open company. (10) Purrageous Dyna needs grass and she gets it today. The key is Jose takes the mount for this closer. He usually times them right.

$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2, 4 w/ 2, 4, 7, 10 Cost: $12.00

Race 5:

(3) The Queens Jules is getting back to sprinting which is where this horse has gotten the best results. The addition of Jose Ortiz in here makes this horse a must play for me. (4) Eagle Pass is going to be closing strongly late and is in really good form for this field. I expect this horse to have a strong push come stretch drive and always smart to include the strongest horse late. Last play will be (7) Mr. Dougie Fresh who is getting some class relief in here and will be instructed to be forwardly placed in here. This could turn into a front running score for this horse and will be my last play.

$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3, 4, 7 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

I am playing this race to run like this: (4) Malthael will be my pace in here. If allowed to set easy fractions on the lead, he'll be a tough horse late. We'll include (3) Dante's Fire, as this guy will be running down the field late. I trust Jose Ortiz to find a lane and time it out well. (12) The Last Zip will run a similar late closing race from the outside and Saez will make sure this horse is forwardly placed enough to make his run. My last play will be (10) Kid Mercury who I think will get overlooked on the tote board. Alvarado is getting a second mount on him in here and I think makes a huge difference. This race should be all about trips and I trust Junior to handle it at a decent price.

$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 3,10 w/ 3,4,10,12 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 4,12 w/ 3,4,10,12 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

An interesting 10F turf Alw for fillies. (7) HIGH OPINION has back to back 2nd place finishes and posted a big number both times. She seems as though she can run all day. Brown has two in here. (6) LINNY KATE moves back to the turf where she belongs. Rosario takes another shot with her the Tonalists’ usually can go long. (9) HIGHER TRUTH won here last month and she’s bred to be a good one. She’s shown improvement in each start and worked with Kate. Expecting another big run here. Saez chooses (2) COASTANA over Praire Wings. That’s enough for me.

$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 6, 9 w/ 2, 6, 7, 9 Cost $ 18.00

Race 8:

(2) TOWN CLASSIC looks polished coming out of the Run Happy G3 behind Firenze Fire. He’ll be odds on but look at all those 2nds in his career. That has to be a record (20) He’s a must use and I’ll trust Jose to help find the wire for him. (5) JALEN JOURNEY ships in for Asmussen who is having a meet. Carmouche figures to get to the lead and will try to steal it. With this short field, I like his chances to do just that. (3) JEMOGRAPHY was beating up NY Breds but has stalled a little against open company. Jr has three 2nds aboard this one and they stretch out a little. Maybe the extra distance will help him.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 3, 5 w/ 1, 2, 3, 5 Cost $ 18.00

Race 9:

Jose bails on the rail horse and lands on (9) DREAMPOINT. His last two turf tries were his best to date. He’s a Point of Entry so that’s not so hard to believe. Clement sends out Nevin and Cancel team up on (6) PIVOTAL RUN. He returns off the bench and drops. That's a little scary so I'll use him underneath. (2) VOLIERO was claimed by Maker two back and got to within three lengths of Dreampoint. Saez takes the control and he can easily make this Summer Front make up those three lengths. There’s a longshot that I can’t pass on. (10) EIGHT WEEKS LONG has been running late in his last two turf outings and was too wide last time and ran out of gas. I like the switch to Davis and Hennig has been hot lately. If Dylan can save some ground around the turn, this guy can light up the board if the others stub their toes.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 10 w/ 2, 6, 9, 10 Cost $ 18.00
