We are headed in to the Memorial Day weekend and we have you covered at Belmont on this Friday afternoon. We are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 4-6 and Big Pete will close the card on races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. We appreciate you taking a look at the write-up and hope we can all make it a profitable day. GOOD LUCK.

R4: 1, 4, 6

R5: 6, 8, 9, 10

R6: 2, 5, 6

Cost: $36.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R7: 1, 2, 5

R8: 3, 5, 10, 11

R9: 3, 8, 10, 11

Cost: $48.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

I am going to take Wesley Ward in the 1st race with (4) Painters N Poets. I liked the other Ward horse a little more, so a little upset she was scratched. With that said, I think that Johnny V will put this horse on the lead as he does quite well and not look back. This rider/trainer combo wins in these 2 year old races at a good percentage. I think that we should play the field behind her and hope the highest price comes in for second.

$5.00 WP 4 Cost: $10.00

$3.00 Ex 4 w/ 2,3,5,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 2:

Not the most reliable group of NW2L. (2) AMISTAD goes out for the hot barn as he stretches out. Both turf tries have come at 6F. He’s out of a Giant’s Causeway mare, so the 8.5F shouldn’t be an issue. His best races have been on the grass and Lezcano slips in the saddle. I don’t think we’ll see the 8:1 ML but even half that will be a gift. They should sit just off the front runners and close in on the turn.

Both (7) Elusive Ruler and (8) Judge Bern are the main danger, so we’ll use underneath.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 14.00

$ 7.00 Exacta 2 w/ 7, 8 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use Amistad in R2 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Both Pletcher runner’s, (2) Happy Saver and (4) Alkhaatam look solid in the 3rd

$ 7.00 Double 2 w/ 2, 4 Cost $ 14.00

Race 4:

(6) Fox Red looks to be the best on paper and will seek the lead from the outside early. I think this horse will be able to sustain a big run in here and could possibly wire the field. I will include two horses I like to be able to eat up ground late and compete for the wire first. (1) Alcools is coming in after an okay closing performance last time out. I think this horse again benefits from the inside post position and will be able to navigate a ground saving trip throughout. I think Manny will have a say come stretch drive and be a dangerous horse. (4) Zaevion is my last play in here who should benefit from a quick early pace and I trust Irad to find the lanes to run in. This horse has the ability to run on with this one late and the Jockey change is a big one for me.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 5:

I am going to lean heavily to the outside in this one with most of my trust being on (10) Danfusi and (8) Bardolino. I think that Brad Cox has (10) Danfusi revved up headed into this one with a couple of good workouts and will be a very tough horse to catch on the lead. (8) Bardolino is getting a firm surface for the first time in his career and I think that makes a difference in here. This horse will have a similar tactic to the horse to his outside and the firmer surface could have this horse poised for a monster race in here. (9) Bad Guy is another interesting horse who will be eating up ground late and if the two horses mentioned get into a pace battle then this race will be for this horse to take. My last play will be (6) Chrome Dixie who is the son of California Chrome and I think is ascending at the moment. This race could be a late closing type of race and this horse is in good form to do just that.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 8,10 w/ 6,8,9,10 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 6,9 w/ 6,8,9,10 Cost: $6.00

Race 6:

It will be tough to beat (2) Cost Benefit in here and a must play in my opinion. I think that this horse is too versatile for the group and can win in multiple ways. (5) Kansas Kis is a horse that I really like and the workout heading in makes me believe this horse is ready to run. Javier Castellano should be aggressive from the gate and find the lead. This horse should be able to sustain a big run in here and make some noise late. (6) Jeanie B is my last play who I think will be forwardly placed as well and that could make the difference come stretch drive. The move to Saez is always a plus and could be ready to upset the field at a decent 4/1 price.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 2,5,6 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

(1) A VOW OF BEAUTY has been going longer for most of his races. The cut back to 7F is just what he needs. Rosario climbs aboard and will try to take them all the way. Rudy and Irad team up as (5) SCOTTO faces winners for the first time but found the right group. Stretching out seems right and there are several with speed to set him up. Miller has not done well when sending his runners east. But (2) WILD UNION drops in to face an easier group than he’s used to. He collects checks and now cuts back for this. Castellano just missed with him the last time they were together.

$7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 1,2,3,5 Cost: $18.00

Race 8:

Brown moved (10) NEVISIAN SUNRISE to the turf and she responded nicely. Now she faces winners for the first time as she ships back to NY. She’ll be short odds but looks the part. There are two in here that look dangerous as both get L1 for the today. (3) CALDEE has been keeping decent company throughout her career and has the speed to control this. If she can get an easy lead, they probably don’t catch her. I can’t ignore the Clement/Rosario combo on (5) MAGISTERIUM. This gal has been sprinting and now goes the 1M one turn today. Guessing she bled last time so I will draw a line through that one. All systems go for me. The NY Bred filly (11) CLASSIC COLORS tries open company but has yet to run a bad race on turf. She’ll be closing in late.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,5,10,11 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

(3) KENTUCKY KNIGHT tried turf last time and he almost got there. A similar run puts him right there again. I can’t ignore the switch to Saez and the American Pharoah runner (8) RUN SMITTY RUN switching to the turf. They will likely go and with the drop and surface change, he can take them all the way. The switch to turf, last time, also benefited (11) CONGRATS FOR GLORY. He finally got on track late but came up short. Look for him to be coming again but this time, Castellano will get into him a little earlier. (10) DETERMINED FURY tries turf for the first time and is bred to like it. If he gets the speed up front to back up, he’ll make it interesting late.

$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 8,11 w/ 3,8,10,11 Cost: $18.00
