Saturday racing at Belmont and we have you covered on this 10 race card. We will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 5-7 and Big Pete will be focused on races 8-10. Big Pete will also have his "Plays of the Day" on a race he would like to maximize the bankroll on. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 3, 4, 10
R6: 1, 6, 7
R7: 3, 7
Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 1, 3, 4, 8
R9: 7, 8, 10
R10: 2, 3, 6, 10
Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's "Plays of the Day":
Race 2:
There’s a price in this $40K MCL turf event that I can’t resist. (5) OUCH OUCH OUCH has two attempts on his preferred surface and now gets the upgrade in the jock department. Klesaris gives a leg up to Lezcano. He’s shown improvement in both his turf starts which doesn’t surprise me being an ARCH ARCHARCH. Send it in!!
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
Race 4:
I will concede to the Brown favorite (5) LOVE AND THUNDER. She’s was well meant in her US debut last time and didn’t have the best start. That was off a layoff and Chad has had more time with her. All systems go today. There are two long shots that I’ll try to fill in the blanks with. (3) Fetching does her best running here at Beautiful Belmont Park and (7) Candy Flower may have her own way up front and should last a long way.
$ 10.00 Exacta 5 w/ 3, 7 Cost $ 20.00
We’ll also try to collect on a Daily Double play with Love And Thunder. Incase Lil Pete slept in today, both (1) Taino and (3) Charlie Five O look solid to start his mid-Pick 3 sequence.
$ 10.00 Double 5 w/ 1, 3 Cost $ 20.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
Class relief should allow (10) Quixotic to find the early lead in here and not give up. I also like (3) Charlie Five O and (4) Irish Giant to be the two horses stalking the lead and wait for an opportunity down the stretch to fan out wide and try and catch. I will leave it on these three as I do not trust much more outside of them in this lower level race.
$3.00 Ex Box 3,4,10 Cost: $18.00
Race 6:
(1) Hot Doctor from the inside should improve switching surfaces and getting Saez is a major plus. (6) Vodka Lemonade looks to be the major player in here and a must play for me. Last play will be (7) Rogue Leader who I think will benefit from another start on grass and should only improve.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$3.00 Ex Box 1,6,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
Looks pretty chalky, so will include the two favorites that are in good form. (3) Malibu Pro is still in great form for the age and should be able to run a big race against this field. The horse that looks best in form is (7) Heavy Roller who is coming in after winning the last two and some very good beyer speeds to back them up. We should expect a late closing horse that is going to be dangerous.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$5.00 Ex Box 3,7 Cost: $10.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
With Breakfastatbonnies scratching out (1) PLEASURE LUCK figures to take on the favorite roll. She looks solid and Jose returns. Hennig has yet to win one yet so that’s the only eye sore. She’s hit the board in all 5 starts so it’s either first or second for me today. I’ll focus on the two closers, as there still is plenty of speed signed on. (4) OUT FIRST sports a nice bullet and will try Big Sandy for the first time. (8) BANKERS DAUGHTER stands out in here. She can stalk from that outside draw and Saez takes over. She made a nice return in the slop last time and 6.5F looks perfect.
$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,3,4,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
I liked (6) DELAWARE last time and he rewarded me with a W. Not as much today though. This group looks a little better than last and we’ll just use defensively. (10) FLAVIUS exits a G1 and just out classes this group. A potential single in this chalky Pick 3 sequence is likely for most players. I can’t argue that. I’m hoping Flavius takes the afternoon off and not runs his A game. Clement and Rosario are back at it with (7) DECORATED INVADER. His two best races have come on this course and he likely needed his last off the break. He’s a 1M specialist and looks dangerous. (8) OLYMPIC RUNNER will offer some late zip and if his finds his form from the winter, it may be enough to at least get 2nd.
$7.00 WPS 7 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 7,10 w/ 6,7,8,10 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
(10) REELEY PSYCHED tried sprinting and NY Breds last time and somehow only lost by 3 lengths after a trouble trip. The 8.5F better suits this Freud and she gets Rosario. I landed on (3) LEMON TAFFY on the switch to turf for this Lemon Drop Kid. She almost got there in the mud last time and Luis gets aboard this Maker. A must use for me. Irad ends up on (2) STORMI CAT LADY who will also try turf and drops in for a tag. Speaking of thrying turf for the first time, add (6) BLIND SIGHT to that list. She has turf pedigree and Lezcano has been riding well. She’s worth a shot at these long odds.
