9 race card today at Belmont and we are looking to gain some momentum headed into the Preakness. We will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 4-6 and Big Pete will be locked into races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race that we would like to try and maximize our bankroll. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and hope we can all have a profitable day. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 1, 3, 5
R5: 1, 4, 9
R6: 1, 3, 8, 9 Cost: $36.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 1, 5, 6, 7
R8: 2, 4
R9: 1, 7, 10, 12 Cost: $ 32.00

Race 2:
(3) Beach Front is going to be my play in here at this lower level race. I think Lezcano will get the most out of this horse and the post position in the second stall I think makes a difference. The horse to his inside will be the pace setter and allow this horse to find the rail early and have a stretch drive to compete for this one. I like the trainer/jockey combo and think this could be an opportunity to improve that bankroll with a bit of a price.
$5.00 WPS 3 Cost: $15.00

Race 3:
With Jack scrathed, I'll use the Clement runner (2) REUX. He was doing well last summer before going on the shelf. He meets a salty group in his 2021 debut but his 5/9 bullet seems to indicate he's ready. The one turn sprint looks to be his preference.
Both (6) Chewing Gum and (7) Kanthaka are the class so we’ll use underneath.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 14.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 2 w/ 6, 7 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Reux in R3 and try to crash in on Lil Pete’s party with a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(1) Southern Flag and (5) Royal Realm look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 2 w/ 1, 5 Cost $ 14.00

Race 4:
The two favorites look food in here and I think a must play. (3) Mr. Briggs had a nice performance first time out at this distance and lost it at the end and should improve this time out. We should anticipate a similar front running run and this field may have a tough time catching late. (5) Royal Realm is going to be closing strongly late in this one and just missed last time out to break his maiden. McCarthy benefits from the smaller jockeys room and likes to eat up wins whenever he can. My last play will be the (1) Southern Flag who is the wild card in here. I like the Dam side of this horse to run well first time out on this surface and distance.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,3,5 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
I doubt we get 6/1 on the (1) Searching for Gold in here, but if we do then I will throw a little more money at this horse. I know this horse has only raced in Tampa and will have to improve on the NYRA track, but I just see this horse having the "it" factor. I think this horse will run a big race from the inside and attracting Carmouche is only and added bonus. (4) Kid Bourbon just may be too good for the field with the class drop. This horse is getting back to grass and we should be expecting a sustained big run from this horse; which could just be too much for the field. My last play will be (9) Devilish Mood who ran an impressive race last time out trying grass for the first time and a similar run in here down the stretch could compete for the win.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,9 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
The morning line favorites look to be the plays in here and not going to be able to leave any of them off. (1) Allured is going to be forwardly placed in here with good post position. I will include this horse in case they allow this horse to dictate fractions and a tough catch late down the stretch. (3) Direct Order is in good form and eats up ground fast down the stretch. This horse is going to be a dangerous horse late. (8) Ekhhtibaar looks to be in good form and will be involved throughout. Last play will be the (9) Hammerin Aamer who looks to be the best on paper and Cancel will stalk the lead and unleash this horse come stretch drive; a must play on the ticket.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,9 w/ 1,3,8,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,8 w/ 1,3,8,9 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(5) AMESOME DEBATE didn’t get a chance to run in the Correction, so we’ll draw a line through that one. Both her 2021 races would be plenty for this group. The little time off is more of a concern. We’ll include but try to beat her. (7) IRISH CONSTITUTION is another speed that keeps improving. If she can shake loose, that will be a problem for them. I’ll lean on a stalker and a closer to come late. The ridiculous pick is (6) FIGHT ON LUCY. She needs help but figures to get the setup to come late. Her lone win last year was on a dry Big Sandy at big odds. I can’t resist.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 5, 6 w/ 1, 5, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
We’ll keep the ticket cost effective today and only use two in here. Brown and (2)
STAGE RAIDER figures to be strong in here. I won’t argue if you want to single as most will. But, they still have to run the race and anything can happen. It’s worth noting that the 10 length blowout win was on a sloppy track so maybe the others he faced just didn’t like it. With the entry out, that doesn't leave us many options. I'll include
(4) CIVIL WAR as an alternate. He's been keeping good company but hasn't been close. The connections must think he can run or they just don't put him were he belongs. His last race is encouraging though. Some times the light goes on with these young horses and they start running again. He's worth a shot against this heavy favorite .
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 10.00 Ex BOX 2, 4 Cost $ 20.00
Race 9:
The outside runners have the experience, but I’ll try to beat them with the first time starter. (1) TRISAETUM has distance written all over him and there’s enough turf influence to make him a player. It’s Clement and Franco so we’re expecting this guy to be live first out. (12) GHOSTMON came running late for Rudy and picks up Lezcano for this. Turf and/or the drop woke this guy up last time and there has been no lapse in the works. (10) EIGHT WEEKS LONG may not have cared for the soft turf last time, but still managed to come running late. His November MSW try would be good enough here today. (7) VOLIERO dropped in last time and Maker saw something he liked with the claim. He figures to be the horse to beat off of that effort and spending time in the new barn will only help the cause.
