We are back to racing in NY with a nice 9 race card today at Belmont. We are going to look to carry the momentum from last weekend and hopefully cash some more tickets. We are going to look to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be locked into races 4-6 and Big Pete will close with races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" for a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. We appreciate you taking a look at the write-up. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 1, 3, 5, 7
R5: 3, 5
R6: 4, 8, 9
Cost: $24.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 1, 2, 4
R8: 1, 2, 3
R9: 3, 6, 8, 11
Cost: $36.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
I will be playing off of Irad in here aboard the (5) Holy Emperor. I think this horse will be first or second in here, so makes it enticing for an exacta play. I do like Cancel aboard the (7) Centurion who has a nice workout coming in on a surface with some moisture in it. This horse also ran a pretty decent race last time out and should be able to improve off this effort in here.
$4.00 WPS 7 Cost: $12.00
$2.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 4,5,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Race 2:
There seems to be plenty of speed signed on as any one of six can go and try to wire them. I try to pass them all with (7) TRAPPEZE ARTIST. McCarthy won on him two back against NW2L, then tired to go longer moving up to this level. The cut back and the speeds backing up is what he needs and he should get both today. If there’s any moisture around, that won’t hurt either.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 7 w/ 3, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Trappeze Artist in R2 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(3) Information Mosaic and (4) Except Temptation look solid in the 3rd
$ 7.00 Double 7 w/ 3, 4 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
I am forced to play both the Miceli horses in here with (1) Miss Mi Mi and (7) City Temper. I think that (1) Miss Mi Mi will not mess around in here with the favorable post position and look to find a nice rail position behind the early lead. I expect that horse in front to be (7) City Temper and if left alone late then will be a tough catch. (3) Lovely Lady Lexi will be another play in here for me as I expect Jose Ortiz to be in a nice stalking position as well around the turn and be able to fan out wide for a shot at the wire first. My last play, but my top play in here is going to be (5) Tell Me Im Pretty. I think this horse has been training lights out at Belmont and this lower level claiming field is not intimidating me to leave off this horse from the long layoff. I am expecting a big race in here from this horse hitting the NY tracks for the first time. We should be getting a decent price in here and I think much worth the investment.
$4.00 WPS 5 Cost: $12.00
$2.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,3,5,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,7 w/ 1,3,5,7 Cost: $6.00
Race 5:
I am sticking with the two Jose's entered in the race; (3) Technical Analysis and (5) Caldee. I think that (5) Caldee will be aggressive early to find the lead and should sustain a big run in here, especially if the ground is soft. I think that (3) Technical Analysis is improving and will handle the surface perfectly and be the strongest horse late. I am not overthinking this one and trusting what I see as the two clear horses in here.
$10.00 Ex Box 3,5 Cost: $20.00
Race 6:
(4) Mystery Messenger is getting shipped in from California and looks to be extremely dangerous in here. I think that this horse will be able to navigate a nice trip in here and be much the fastest late. This would give Jose Ortiz the pick 3 just to himself, which would be quite an accomplishment. (8) Blind Ambition is another horse that I think will be a dangerous horse late. This horse possesses the early speed in here to find a nice position around the one turn and then fan out wide for an aggressive stretch drive. One horse that I really like in here is (9) SomeKindofMagician who I think will benefit from an early pace and if Cancel can navigate a ground saving trip throughout and not let the front runners get too far in front is an interesting price play.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 4,8,9 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
We’ll use the even money favorite (4) HOMETOWN but I’ll look to beat him. He won easy at 7F and will stretch it out a bit here. Brown usually goes to one of the Ortiz’s and neither show up on him. He found an easy field to try winners for the first time so he doesn’t need to improve much. (2) LOST IN ROME attracts Irad. That’s all I got. He’ll likely go from the rail and try to control. (1A) DUST DEVIL is on a roll. The slop may have helped produce the big number last time but the time before that was pretty good too. He may want the skies to open up a little.
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1, 2 w/ 1, 2, 3, 4 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
The race goes through (3) MR ALEC. He likes to finish 2nd, but a few of those were against some very good runners. Jose will ride him for the first time and the 10F should not be a problem. (2) DYNADRIVE is 2 for 2 when he ships to NY. The farther the better for this gelding as he will make it interesting close to home. The one that is interesting to me is (1) KINENOS. After a dull summer, he took some time off and returned in Feb for a jog around GP. He made up a lot of ground on a course that is not prone to do that. Belmont fits his running style for making up ground around the turn. Steady works from Cox and Lezcano returns. I have to take this 10:1ML.
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1, 3 w/ 1, 2, 3, 6 Cost: $18.00
Race 9
(6) KNOCKOUT PUNCH will get a chance to deliver that today as there should be a hot pace for him to come up swinging at the end. The switch back to turf and the shorter distance is what he wants. (3) DISCIPLANARIAN almost caught the tough Scuttlebuzz last time and Jose returns. A Re-Pete will make this guy tough to beat. Ward is having a good Spring and now tries to carry that momentum to NY. (8) LYRICAL POET won easy on Synthetic against much weaker but did it so easy. They attract Irad so they need to be included in the conversation. The ridiculous pick will be (11) CLAMOR. He usually moving forward at the end, not backwards, so if everyone one else starts backing up, he can sneak in at the end.
