We have ourselves a nice ten race card on the eve of a five stake day tomorrow. We are coming in with a bit of momentum after having a pretty good day and will look to keep that going. We are going to attack a pair of pick 3 plays today WHICH cover the PK6 sequence if you are feeling frisky. I will be covering races 5-7, while Big Pete will be covering races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and capitalize on with some good prices. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 1, 5, 8, 10

R6: 1, 6, 7

R7: 1, 4, 8, 11

Cost: $48.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 4, 5, 7, 8

R9: 3, 4, 6

R10: 1, 6, 8, 12

Cost: $48.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

It’s hard not to include (7) BASTET here as she drops from the MSW ranks to this MCL40k. A Re-Pete of any of her races today will be good enough here. I’m interested in getting (3) RAPIDO GATTA into the exacta. She’ll be long odds and she ran ok first time on grass against Bastet only losing by 4 to her. She gets less weight with the bug up too. We’ll use underneath and a small reverse.

$20.00 Ex 7 w/ 3 Cost: $20.00

$5.00 Ex 3 w/ 7 Cost: $5.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

I think that (8) Mr. Kringle and (10) Ancient Times will find the early lead in here and could run away with it, which is why I will be including. I do believe that they will tire each other out and think this race is won by a closer. My top pick in this one is going to be (1) Simply who I think will be able to save ground throughout and will not be closing from a mile out this time out. I think Rosario will be able to time this one perfectly and come in at a relative price. I also like (5) Sanctuary City to have a similar trip and think that if Carmouche can find his spot early, it could equate to a winning stretch drive.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,10 w/ 1,5,8,10 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 5,8 w/ 1,5,8,10 Cost: $6.00

Race 6:

In this low level claiming race it looks like the two favorites will be tough to beat, but I think we should spread a bit. I cannot leave (1) Vincero or (6) Summer Bourbon off and one of these two are the likely winner. I am going to reach a bit in here and look for a wire to wire winner from the young Charlie Marquez aboard (7) Financial Freedom. I think that this horse will enjoy the cut back in distance and second time out up north should show some improvement.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

I am closing with four horses in this allowance race. I really like the Ortiz brothers to compete for the winner's circle in this one, so will be including the two favorites (4) Good Old Boy and (11) Microsecond. That being said I do not think they are locks in here and going to include some closers I really like. My top pick to beat the favorites is (1) Point Him Out who gets a great post position in here and will be able to save ground late. I also like Clement horse in (8) Fly Fly Away in here to close late against this field.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,4,8,11 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 8,11 w/ 1,4,8,11 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Noda may have gotten too aggressive with (5) FIRST LINE by entering in the Jim Dandy. Now puts him where he belongs and brings back Jose. The distance and one turn should put this gelding right there. Same can be said for (7) FED FUNDS. He too needs more ground and he finally gets it. Manny will only help as well. (4) FORZA DI ORO also finds an easier group today then he faced last time. Has a win and a second already on Big Sandy. That is always a plus. (8) MISCHIEF AFOOT has finally figured this game out based on his last two attempts. Saez returns as well and these two look strong.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,8 w/ 4,5,7,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

I’ll take the lay-up here as both Brown runners and the Clement filly look the best. (4) ORGLANDES is the one I’ll use on top. Ran ok in his first US attempt and now has had more time with Chad. Expecting an improvement today. (6) BACCHANALIA is the other Brown who has big numbers in her last two. She’s been off since March though some I’m hesitant to put on top. Clement has (3) SORRENTINA LEMON who continues to get better every time out. I would expect another big run today.

$5.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 3,4,6 Cost: $20.00

Race 10:

(1) HARD COUNT can’t seem to last through the stretch in these 1M + races. They finally cut him back to a sprint and might be hard to catch today. Last time Irad was up, they jogged. We’ll lean heavy on them. (12) ADIOS AMIGOS has closed well in his last three turf tries and now he’ll let Saez take the controls. Look for both of them to arrive late to the scene. (8) OUR TROUBADOUR will also close in late. He will most likely have to pass them all. Beat Amigos on this course. (6) WHAT’S TO BLAME ships in and seems to like 2nd. We’ll use him there in our vertical bets.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,12 w/ 1,6,8,12 Cost: $18.00
