We have ourselves a ten race card at Belmont today and we are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays. We are glad to have a healthy Irad back on the card and hope he and everyone continues to remain healthy. The weekend card looks stacked, so lets improve the bankroll leading in with a couple of cashed tickets today. I will be focusing in on races 5-7, while Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" to tackle a race we see some potential in. Make sure to subscribe to the mailing list to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 3, 5, 6

R6: 1, 5, 6

R7: 3, 5, 6, 12

Cost: $36.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 3, 5, 8, 10

R9: 4, 7, 11

R10: 8, 9, 11, 12

Cost: $48.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

This claiming race is shaping up to me to be a jockey's race. I want Irad on grass in this one and think he has the horse to do it; (6) Taos. This horse hasn't really shown his ability since coming over to run in the states, but I think the barn will stay hot in here. The class drop will wake this horse up and Irad will be able to navigate this horse to the winner's circle.

$5.00 WPS 6 Cost: $15.00

$4.00 Ex 6 w/ 2,3,5 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 5:

For some reason, the connections tried turf for (5) TWISTED TOM last time against much better established turf runners. This vet has slowly worked himself back to his old self. He was once a dominate NY Bred a few years ago. Maker is having a good fall meet and Jose returns to a more manageable spot.

$10.00 WPS 5 Cost: $30.00

I’ll use Tom w/ the (1, 1A) Entry and (6) Our Last Buck

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

I really like (6) Our Last Buck in this spot to get to the early lead and challenge the competitors to beat late. I do not see much of a pace battle in here so think this horse will be strong late. (5) Twisted Tom is a horse that Big Pete made his best bet and I cannot knock him for that. I think this horse will be able to sit behind the early pace from (6) Our Last Buck and have a chance to catch late down the stretch. I also am going to include the morning line favorite, (3) I Love Jaxson, who I think improves from his past two performances and runs a much better one today. I think that if he can get back to running as he did at Belmont at the end of last year, then we will have ourselves a winning effort here.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3,5,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

The two Chad Brown horses are going to be a tough beat in here, so will be including both. I prefer (6) Amano in here who I am blaming the poor finishes in previous races on bad trips. This horse has shown the closing ability needed to win these turf marathons, but I think this horse needs to be forwardly placed early. I think Irad will have this horse involved early and be able to show the closing speed late. I also am including (1) Pure Carmine who is coming in off a long layoff and last ran in California. This horse has had some trouble with some slow starts, but I think the inside position will help this horse in here. If Alvarado can get this horse to the early lead in here and let the horse run on with it, then he has a chance to play upset in here.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,5,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

Here is how I am playing out this race: (3) Tenure and (5) Wild William will find the early lead and could run away with it, so will be including both. I prefer (3) Tenure in here who I think will follow up the triple digit beyer speed from last race in to this claiming race. (6) Qian B C and (12) Smile Bryan will sit behind this early pace and will have the most left late. If the race isn't run away by the first two I mentioned, then I like these two horses to swing outside around the turn and have a convincing stretch drive.

$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 3,12 w/ 3,5,6,12 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 3,5,6,12 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

(8) RIKEN is your likely speed here and will try to take them all the way. He’s capable of that so we’ll include. I’m guessing Rice, who has two in here, will instruct Lezcano to also go and try to do the same thing. If that happens, it likely sets up the other Rice (5) FREUDIAN SIP. He’s been off for some time but has some steady works and finished with a bullet last week or so. Irad climbs aboard which to me, indicates this guy may be live. (9) TIERGAN has also been off this year but continues to work fast as no one has run faster in the morning in his last two works. He may be ready to roll today.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,9 w/ 3,5,8,9 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

(7) COST BENEFIT will certainly take some action as Brown cuts this gal back to a more manageable 6F. Found a 1M to long last time. We won’t get the 9:2 ML with Irad up but if we do….I’m all in. (4) NOTORIOUS R G B just missed at the Spa and Clement has stayed hot. She ran her best race here two back but against much better. Look for her to kick in coming off the turn and run by them late. (3) A LITTLE FAITH and (11) BREAK CURFEW are two outsiders that can make a run late to juice up the exacta. They need speeds to go at it up front early to make their kicks count in the lane.

$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 3,4,7,11 Cost: $18.00

Race 10:

We’ll focus on the outside runners to close this Pk3 out. Weaver has two. (12) WHATMEKESSAMMYRUN entered for turf last time and showed some speed on the dirt. The 7F will give Lezcano some time to get to the rail before they hit the turn. If he can’t last, his stable mate (11) SINASHACK, will be there to pick up the pieces. Nice bullet for this and grass should be ok for this Shakleford. (8) PANSTER was also looking for turf at the Spa but it got rained off. He gets Irad for this and is your most likely winner. He made up some ground through the stretch that day and extra ground will only help. (9) TIZ TACT TOE is a firster with some decent turf pedigree. Attracts Jose for his debut for Tagg.

$7.00 WPS 12 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 8,12 w/ 8,9,11,12 Cost: $18.00
