We are looking to close this weekend off with a pair of pick 3 hits. We have ourselves a nice 10 race card at Belmont and we will be keying in on the PK6 sequence (Races 5-10). I will specifically be diving in to races 5-7 for my pick 3 plays, while Big Pete will key in on races 8-10 for his. We also will have our "Play of the Day" which will cover a race we think it would be worth to take a calculated risk on in vertical plays. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog. GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
I really like (3) Eye of a Soldier in this competitive allowance race. I think this horse will get some early pace from (2) Gogo Shoes and open the race to a closer and I love (3) Eye of a Soldier to do just that. I am playing that the jockeys will not lose this race and sit back in here and press early.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00

Race 5:
A lot of the attention will be on Evvie Jets and Bay Storm. They certainly are contenders but how can you bet the JETS. I would keep an eye on Race 2. Bay Storm finished right behind So Enchanting last time so, if she performs well, lean more on Bay Storm. I have to try (5) BABA in here. She showed speed last time on the dirt. Unless a firster goes, no one else has shown speed in this group. More importantly, Albertrani switches to Saez. He likes to be aggressive early if his runner has speed. Baba is also out of a Speightstown Mare so the switch to grass is not a problem and he’s an Uncle Mo. Too many positives to pass up on this 15:ML. I’m all in.
I’ll use her with (3) Evvies Jets and (8) Bay Storm.
$10.00 WPS 5 Cost: $30.00
$3.00 Ex Box 3,5,8 Cost: $18.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
I landed on five horses and then a plus one (Big Pete's play). My top selection in this one is going to be the 10-1 shot in (10) Third Draft. I think this horse will be able to find a good position around the turn and have a good showing first time out. Rosario is heating up a bit and could have the horse underneath him to get this one. (1) My Tommy Lee is a horse that has previous experience and ran a pretty good race closing strongly late. I think that with this experience and a little more maturing, this horse is prepped for a big race here. (2) Milestone Payment doesn't really jump off the page here for me, but with the connections I got intimidated to leave off my ticket; I SAID IT. (8) Bay Storm also has some experience in here and ran a very good third on her first career start and got some money played on her. She is getting a jockey improvement and the second time out we should anticipate improvement as well; which makes this horse a contender for me. (10) O'Gotten Girl has some pretty good efforts and getting back to grass where she ran a good third. I think the extended time in the Pletcher barn will play off well here. BONUS BIG PETE PICK: (5) Baba has the Uncle Mo pedigree that I personally love on grass and should show early speed on grass. This horse should be sent to the lead and challenge the young field to try and pass her.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 1,8,9 w/ 1,2,5,8,9,10 Cost: $15.00
Race 6:
(10) Economic Policy looks to be a tough horse to beat in here coming in from a win and against this level. I just do not trust Chad Brown in claiming races as I do in any other type of races. (8) Vitesse is a 3 year old who has shown constant improvement and the stretch out should play well to this horse's running style, so will include. (2) DiannesImpazible is only 1 for 10 in his short career, but I think is a strong player here. Irad is choosing this horse again so that means I will too. My last play is going to be (3) Allied Invasion who is trying dirt for the first time in his career but not going to knock him for that. I think this level will make this move over manageable and will be able to sustain a big run under Rosario.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex Box 2,3,8,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
I fell in love with some horses on the outside in this one. I will be including both Leah Gyarmati horses in the (10) Wicked Happy and (11) Hard Won. I think both of these horses will be forwardly placed and may be able to run away with it from this group. My last play will be the horse to their outside in (12) Spring to Summer. This horse is fresh off a claim in her first career start where she showed some potential. I think this horse will be ready to go in this one and this level is right where she belongs.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 10,11,12 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Most of these had trouble clearing the NW1X, now try to tackle the NW2. I’ll focus on the two that have already been competitive at this level. (1) LAST JUDGMENT has been facing better all year. Claimed two back, then ran right behind Tribecca, who put on a show yesterday. Look for this guy to stay sharp and run them down. (7) PETE’S PLAY CALL for obvious reasons. He too exits the Tribecca race and was right there. If it were 6F, I’d give it to Pete, but the extra distance gives Judgment the advantage. (2) MAD MUNNYS is fresh off the Bruce Brown claim who is on fire and cuts back. Would be no surprise here.
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,2,4,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
(8) TAPIT TODAY tried to close from last on a yielding course last time and did well to get 3rd. Firm today and Jose takes over. She should be a little closer than last and be in the hunt close to home. (5) ALTEA had to wait coming into the stretch last time and lost a couple of lengths. The switch to Irad can make them up easy. Look for these two to get first jump and try to hold on. (7) SHE’S GOT YOU just caught Altea last time and will look for the Re-Pete. She has yet to run a bad race in all nine of her starts. Expecting another one here.
$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex Box 5,7,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
Brown cuts back to 7F w/ (3) DATA ANALYTICS. She tried winners for the first time in her last and wasn’t ready for them. The 6F is what she needs to bounce back. Castellano can go or sit after the break. I can’t ignore the switch to Saez on the outside runner (12) KINKY SOX. She tried to reel in Robin Sparkles last time. No one was doing that, but she managed to get within 4 lengths. The extra furlong will help today and Luis will help her get there. (8) SILKY BLUE is the danger to both. She’ll stalk the front runners and try to hold off the closers. Manny has won on her at this distance and should be in position to do it again. (5) FRESCO has been consistent and Irad returns. I’ll include to close out this Pick 3.
