What a card we have ahead of us at Belmont! We have a 8 stake races today and we are covering 5 in our pick 3 plays. Our sequences will cover the PK6 and we may even dabble in playing it! We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we think we can maximize on. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(3) Masked Marauder is who I landed on in the highly competitive Sleepy Hollow. I like this horse showing a good effort on grass last time out and being beaten late by (4) Breadman, then coming back to dirt in good form and already showing promise on the surface. I think that Irad will not find the lead early in here, but let the horse dictate where he should be early. I will be hammering a WPS and an exacta..

$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3 w/ 2,4,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 4:

I like the breeding for this 7F sprint on (1) NO PAYNE. This Cairo Prince, out of a Giant's Causeway, will like the long stretch that Belmont has to offer. Handal is having a nice Belmont meet as is Davis. Look for them to sit mid-pack and gather momentum in the lane.

I’ll use w/ (3) Sassy Melissa and (10) U Should Be Dancing

$10.00 WPS 1 Cost: $30.00

$3.00 Ex Box 1,3,10 Cost: $18.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 6:

We start this leg off with the competitive Empire Distaff. I am going to spread out a bit with the PK3 sequence, but I am falling for the outside horse in (7) Mrs. Orb to enjoy the stretch back out and being a horse for the course. I think that Davis will have this mare sitting behind the early dueling pace and have a convincing stretch drive to take this one. I am anticipating an early battle for the lead between (2) Ratajkowski and (3) MakingCents; which will open it up late for closers (I will be including (2) Ratajkowski on the ticket in case he is just too good against this field). I will close the card with (5) Critical Value and (6) Lucky Move who both are horses that I like to find a stalking position around the first turn and could get a nice trip to compete for this one.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 2,5,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

I really like (3) Arthur's Hope in this Hudson Handicap. I think Jose Ortiz will not mess around this one and find the early lead and be a handful to catch late. There are some other horses in here that also will have the same tactic, but I think that Jose Ortiz will get it done. With that said, I am going to play two horses that I think will save ground throughout and be strong late. (4) Dugout should not be 10/1 come post time as this horse looks to be a dangerous horse to close late against a field filled with early speed. (6) Big Engine looks to be a horse for the course as well and I think this horse will be a strong player here late.

$5.00 WPS 3 Cost: $15.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3,4,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 8:

I do not like, I love (6) Rinaldi in this Mohawk stakes race. Saez is the perfect no nonsense rider that I love on a horse that possesses speed and we know that this horse will try and wire this field. I cannot leave the favorites off of my ticket in here just in case the race does breakdown late. (7) SomeLikeItHotBrown and (8) Cross Border are two horses that are in good form and have ran against better competition. I do not feel comfortable leaving either of these horses off my ticket, but like trying to beat them. (5) Therapist is my price play here as I think Irad will be able to let the early speed battle happen in front of him and be able to swing out wide and try and hit the wire first.

$4.00 WPS 6 Cost: $12.00

$2.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 5,6,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 9:

A wide open Iroquois to start this late Pk3. I’ll use four and try to beat the favorites. (7) SPIN A YARN has lots of speed and almost stole a race at the Spa when she shipped in. I’m looking for the same to happen here. This time she gets the aggressive Carmouche to control it up front. (2) OFFICER HUTCHY was the one that caught “Spin” and will look for the Re-Pete. She has certainly gotten faster this summer and continues to improve. I’m taking a shot with (6) COLLEGEVILLE GIRL to show up here with a big run. She gave the favorite a scare two back and the 6.5F is perfect. Rosario also fits her running style to come late to the dance. (9) TIMELY TRADITION is having a good 2020 campaign and her last was faster than anyone in here. A must use for me.

$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 6,7 w/ 2,6,7,9 Cost: $18.00

Race 10:

(5) BANK IT should get the perfect set up today as most of these guys like the lead or close to it. With the long run down the back stretch, I’m anticipating a lot of them going at it. Irad shows up on him and will wait for the right moment to get him in gear. (5) FUNNY GUY is the other one that will let things develop in front of him. He gets some class relief here and gets Johnny V. (8) EVALUATOR woke up in a big way last time. Saez got aggressive mid race and won as easy as it gets.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,5,7,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 11:

(5) THREE OUTLAWS will like the extra furlong he gets here to run them down. There should be enough speed entered to set him up. The other exiting the same race last time is (8) UNCLE GEORGE. Rosario was left with too much to do when they dropped back to far. Look for them to stay with in reach so they can run them down late. (10) JO’S BOLD CAT has back to back strong runs this fall and may be rounding back in form. I like the cut back to 7F so I’ll key him on top. (12) IMPAZIBLE ODDS gets in light and can sneak into the exacta.

$7.00 WPS 10 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,10 w/ 5,8,10,12 Cost: $18.00
