We have ourselves a ten race card at Belmont today; which is headlined by the Gr.2 Knickerbocker in the 2nd and the Gr.2 Hill Prince in the 9th. We are looking to cover the PK6 sequence again today with a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be focusing in on the first half of those races, 5-7, while Big Pete will close out the ticket with races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we believe we think there is some value in. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive new blog post notifications and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

I am going to attack the Knickerbocker and take (3) Devamani to get this one done. This horse closed strongly last time out against half of this field and I think the Rosario bump on grass will get it done in here. I think we should get a relatively decent price on this horse.

$5.00 WPS 3 Cost: $15.00

$4.00 Ex 3 w/ 1,2,4,5 Cost: $16.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

We’ll jump all in on the first race to build our bankroll for both Pk3’s later. (1) MISS LOYALTY finally gets a jock change and cuts back to 6F. She can’t handle anything farther than todays 6F. Davis should sit chilly early and save ground to the stretch. She has a little kick in her and it’s Dylan’s job to pull the trigger at the right time. She won’t find an easier group than this so it’s now or never for this 5yr Mare.

I’ll use her with (5) Whyisshesoolucky and (6) Ruvies In Time.

$10.00 WPS 1 Cost: $30.00

$5.00 Ex 1 w/ 5,6 Cost: $10.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

We are scratched down to only four horses in here and I do not have a strong enough opinion on any of these horses, so going to take the field unfortunately. I like the outside horse, (11) Vibrancy, to have a nice showing first time out from an extended layoff, but no way we can trust here. We have some world class jockeys in here who will be battling it out, so lets play the next two legs.

$3.00 WPS 11 Cost: $9.00

Race 6:

My top selection in here is going to be (8) Imperio D who I like closing strongly late against this field. I think (10) Brunate will be sent to the early lead from the outside and I am playing that this horse will tire out late. In case this field lets this horse loose on the lead early, I will include on my ticket. For my final play, I will be including (1) Black Irish who I also will be closing strongly late. I prefer the (8) Imperio D, but this horse could be coming in with good form from the last time out.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$3.00 Ex 8 w/ 1,10 Cost: $6.00

$2.00 Ex 1,10 w/ 1,8,10 Cost: $8.00

Race 7:

(7) Voting Control should win this race and I am not going to overthink on my end. There are some good horses in here, but I think this horse is just a little too good for this level. If another horse steps up and defeats him, then the only thing I can do is tip my hat. Single to close the ticket is risky so props to me for having the guts.

$4.00 Ex 7 w/ 5,8,9 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

(2) IT’S GRAVY has hit the board in both of his races and unless a firster goes, will be the main speed. If left alone, Saez should be able to nurse him along. He was clear of the next horse behind him in both of those races so he was a clear 2nd / 3rd best. The distance is the only scary part. That said, I have to give (4) FORTY TWO ACE a chance to run him down. This one wants more distance and ran ok on the Belmont oval. The switch to Jose is just what this guy needs. If he gets a speed dual up front, that’ll help the cause.

Atras is hitting the board at 50% this meet and has (1) HORN OF PLENTY working fast in the morning. Davis likes to stalk and come late. They drew the rail so they can sit behind Gravy, then let him loose through the stretch.

$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 2,4 w/ 1,2,4,6 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

We’ll include (3) DECORATED INVADER on the ticket, but I’m not a fan and will try to beat this 1:1 shot. I’ll focus on the two outside runners (7) BUY LAND AND SEE is bred to get this 1M distance. Tried sprinting last time and got on track to late. Lezcano will have options with this Cairo Prince, as he can go or stalk. We not used to seeing 8:1 ML on Brown runners, so (9) ASSIDUOUSLY is a must use at that price. Chad has now spent more time with this guy now that he’s up North so I’m expecting be improvements today. (1) GET SMOKIN will be in front and cuts back to the 1M distance. He will be tough to catch late if left alone up there. Javier fits his running style.

$7.00 WPS 7 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 7,9 w/ 1,3,7,9 Cost: $18.00

Race 10:

The pace looks hot for this 6F sprint so I’ll look for stalkers and closers to come late.

Clement drops (3) SMACK to this NW2L 40k for some relief. Closed well last time vs better last time and Jr returns. He’ll be far back early and might have to pass them all. (5) CANARSIE ANGEL couldn’t hold on close to home in her last but was well clear of the rest. A Re-Pete of that effort makes her the filly to beat. I have to give (12) HENNY PENNY another shot here. She took a lot of money last time against some of these, but showed more speed than usual which may have confused her and could not make up any ground. Donk plays the weight game and puts the bug up and I expect her to wait and then come with her run. I’m all in. (11) FREDDYMO FACTOR drops for this and does better sprinting. I’ll include.

$7.00 WPS 12 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3,12 w/ 3,5,11,12 Cost: $18.00
