Big Pete is going to take over the plays today. I am a little late to the party and wasn't able to look at the card today, so leaving you in good hands with him for the late pick 3. He also has his "Play of the Day" on a race he believes is hittable. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notifications of new blog posts and a weekly blog email. GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 1, 5, 6, 7

R9: 2, 3, 7, 8

R10: 2, 5, 7, 10

Cost: $64.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 2:

Two Flintshire’s and a California Chrome will take all the money in this MSW sprint. The two favorites exit the same race going long and it was slow. I have to take a shot with the outside runner (8) MINDFREAK. He’s got Uncle Mo in his blood lines and his Grandad, Defrere, was freakishly fast. Maker is also hitting on all cylinders right now and this feels like the time to take a shot at this 8:1 ML.

$10.00 WPS 8 Cost: $30.00

I’ll use him with both Flintshire’s (1) Flintshire’s Rock and (4) Scotty underneath.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Competitive bunch of 2 yr olds to kick off this late Pk3. (5) SPEAKER’S CORNER was bet heavy in his debut last month and ran just ok. There must be chatter that this guy can run as Aragona still makes him ML favorite after that run. I’ll follow the money and include but look to beat him. (6) ORIGINAL is who I’ll turn to. Saez gets off 2nd choice Caddo River, to ride this one. He’s bred to be a 7F specialist and his works are spread out nicely for his debut today. Keep an eye on the betting close to post. If (7) MILES D drops to 5:2 or lower, jump on. His gate work last week doesn’t get any better than that. If the money shows up, so will I.

$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 1,5,6,7 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

Ward has a fast one in (7) ROYAL APPROVAL. She made it look easy last time running away through the stretch. Should perch right behind the cheap speed and go by when Irad wants to. She’s hard to leave out. The interesting one to me is (2) FABRICATE. She tries turf for the first time and I think that’s where she belongs. Both Granddad’s give her speed (Speightstown) and turf (Scat Daddy) to make her attractive at 5:1. Clement ships in (8) MAGISTERIUM and gives the reigns to go to jock Rosario. Dubb is sharp at finding runners as this guy already has two wins under his belt. If he gets the speed up front, he’ll pass them all. (3) UNION GABLES has been looking for turf and it wouldn’t surprise me to see this guy gunned to the lead and try to hold on.

$7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 2,3,7,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 10:

Maker drops (7) TURN OF EVENTS which should help. More importantly he gives a leg up to Jose. They teamed up in July to get this guy his maiden win. His best races have come at this 1M distance and is a must use. I like a price here though. (5) MORE LIKE IT is also dropping slightly and is stretching out. Brown is hitting right now and plays the weight game by putting the bug up. Comes out of a very fast sprint where he was not backing up at all. They certainly will get overlooked today and worth the 15:1 ML. (2) MR VINCENT is another outsider with potential. His two Belmont attempts are by far his best efforts. A win and a fast closing 5th. We’ll used (10) TRAFFIC PATTERN defensively as it’s Brown and Irad. Not a fan when Chad drops into the claming game. That’s him trying to unload his damaged goods.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 2,5,7,10 Cost: $18.00
