We have the Preakness set to run this weekend and are lucky enough to have some NY racing to get our bankroll up. We have ourselves a nine race card today at Belmont and we are going to attack a pair of pick 3 plays. We also will have our "Play of the Day" to try and cash in on a race that we see potential in. I will be focusing in on races 4-6, and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 7-9 for our pick 3 sequences. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive new blog post notifications and a weekly blog emailed. GOOD LUCK.

R5: 2, 6, 7

R6: 1, 2, 4, 8, 10

Cost: $30.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 1, 4, 6

R9: 8, 10, 11, 14

Cost: $48.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

I would like to beat the 8/5 favorite (10) Forward Curve in here. It is so unlike the Klaravich Stables having a $130K horse running with a claiming tag in his only career starts; which means they are desperately trying to cut ties with this horse. Christophe Clement has carried over his terrific Saratoga meet and sends out winners on grass. I will include both (5) Vicarage and the firster (9) Royale to try and beat the favorite. I also really like (4) Inappropriate in this spot to improve. This horse ran a big race first time out with the likes of (5) Vicarage and I really like the sustained run this horse showed. I think the experience will help this horse find his legs better this time out and run a big time race.

$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00

$2.00 Ex Box 4,5,9 Cost: $12.00

$2.00 Ex 4,5,9 w/ 10 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

I don’t think we’ll get the 8:1 ML today on (1) PIER FORTY. Noda claimed him two back and he woke up slightly last time. Look for more improvement today that will make him competitive against this field.

$10.00 WPS 1 Cost: $30.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 4:

I think this is only a two horse race with the horses on the outside, so only going to go two deep to start out the first leg of this PK3. (10) Klickitat looks to be in good form and it is nice to know what the tactic will be on the horse you play. This horse will be sent to the immediate lead and challenge this field to pass him late, which makes this horse a wire threat for me. (8) Graded on a Curve is going to be a very short price in here and I really would like to try and beat, but I just can't see it being done in this one.

$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 8,10 w/ 3,7,8,10 Cost: $12.00

Race 5:

I know (7) WeGotOldYouGotSold is going to be a tough beat in here and a must play on the ticket, but I think this race is tougher than it looks on paper. This race has some early pressers to challenge him on the outside and I think this could expose him to a late runner down the stretch. The horse I think has the best chance of doing that is (2) ReleaseTheThunder. I think this horse will get back to his running ways before the claim and think he will be able to find a stalking position early and save plenty of ground throughout to be the strongest late. Thomas Morley has been sending out live horses lately as well and I think that (6) Shamrocked will run a bigger race this time out and compete in here. One thing I know that is missing from this race is the SPACE BAR, Amiright? Good one, Pete.

$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 2,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

I do not trust anyone in this race and going to close with five horses. (1) Market Impact doesn't have much turf pedigree, but trusting the connections and an improvement from last time out. (2B) Colloquist is also going to get a play here for me of the entries, as this horse looks to have found his footing on grass and should run a big one in here at a relative good price. (4) Complex System is the deserving favorite in here and if (10) Forward Curve runs a big race in the first race, then this horse should be a dangerous one here. The two Wesley Ward horses will be my last plays with (8) Grandmas Favorite and (10) No Nay Now. Both of these horses will need to improve but running in to a beatable field.

$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex 1,2,4 w/ 1,2,4,8,10 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

It appears (11) AHEAD OF PLAN wants turf. He returned off a year vacation to post an easy win when they switched to the grass. Faces winners for the first time here but a lot of these have proven that they can’t win. Steady work tab so he seems to be over any issues that put him on the shelf last year. Both (7) HURRICANE HILL and (12) BOURBON CURRENCY look to be the main dangers as both like to stalk and come with a run. If Plan can’t handle the extra distance, one of these geldings will look to take advantage of that..

$7.00 WPS 11 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 11,12 w/ 4,7,11,12 Cost: $18.00

Race 8:

I’ll lean heavy on (1) INFRINGEMENT in this NY Bred Stakes. She has the best maiden score of the bunch and had some issues at the start against some decent runners. She managed to get the show after the tardy start by closing. She likely goes from the rail today and plays catch me if you can. I’m betting they can’t. The only other that I’ll use on top is (4) NO MO’ SPENDING. Finally lived up to the breeding last time with a dominating win. The stretch out probably help then and she now gets the perfect distance for her today. I think we’ll get more than the ML on (6) STIMULUS CHECK because of the connections, but she looks like the closer that can pass the tiring fillies late and grab the place.

$5.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,4,6 Cost: $20.00

Race 9:

I’ll take a shot in this MCL30K and try to get (14) VICTORY BUILT into the winners circle. He was competitive when facing MCL in all his attempts and now moves back in against them. He ran best two back for Lezcano and Jose returns. He’ll sit pretty early and make his run. The other Big Brown is firster (10) SLUGO. Nevin plays the weight game and goes with the bug up. Solid works that ended with a bullet last week. He doesn’t have to be anything special to tackle this group. (11) STASH MY MONEY ships in to face fellow NY Breds again. Almost got there in March, and that was against better. He’s had many chances but gets the necessary class relief to make a difference.

$7.00 WPS 14 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 10,14 w/ 8,10,11,14 Cost: $18.00
