We are looking to close the weekend off with some cashed tickets and we are covering the entire Aqueduct 10 race card. I will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 ( Races 5-7) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 ( Races 8-10 ). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $1.00 Early Double:
R1: 1, 2
R2: 3, 4, 6, 7
Cost: $16.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 1, 4, 5
R6: 2, 6, 7
R7: 1, 2, 7
Cost: $27.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 1, 3, 5, 6
R9: 2, 6
R10: 2, 6, 8, 9
Cost: $ 32.00
Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(1) Higher Quality and (2) Rational Choice are the logical plays in here from the Chad Brown barn and I am not going to overthink this one. Both of these horses get the inside draws and should be saving plenty of energy for the stretch drive against this field. On to the next race...
$5.00 Ex Box 1,2 Cost: $10.00
Race 2:
(3) Twist Just Right is a horse that has shown plenty of early speed and I think will be able to find the front quickly in this one. I expect Manny to try and save ground and energy throughout, and the experience could help with that late. (4) Succulent is a horse that I like at a price to make up ground late in this sprint and compete for the wire. (6) Royal Currency has been training well coming into this one and we just can't leave this horse off the ticket after the debut. If the horse can get back to that, then this horse will be extremely dangerous throughout. (7) Carbon is my last play in here with Carmouche aboard. This horse is coming into this one after a decent effort and I think will be ridden more aggressively in this one from the outside.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 3,4,6,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 3,4,6,7 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Rice switches to go to jock on (7) IRISH GIANT for this 6F sprint. He was wide and awful in his last two but against the track in both those outings. Prior to those two races, he posted speed figures that match up well against this group. The which to Lezcano leads me to believe that the connections are gearing up for a nice run.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him with (3) Truebelieve and (6) Wild Union underneath
$ 7.00 Exacta 7 w/ 3, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Irish Giant in a DAILY DOUBLE play.
Both (1) Breaking Stone and (3) Tough Tickets look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 7 w/ 1, 3 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(1) Efficiency has been training lights out coming into this one from the Chad Brown barn and a very dangerous horse in here. I expect Cancel to ride this horse well down the stretch and start picking off the front runners late. (4) Torpedo Run is a horse that I think gets placed towards the front and with a head start and experience, I think is a very strong contender. (5) Howe Street is the other firster in here that I will be including. This horse has shown the speed in the morning and I just can't leave off in case this horse is the real deal come this afternoon.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,5 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
(2) Check That Cup is my top play in here with the presence of speed, and I think will be able to save ground throughout and pass tiring horses late. (7) Awesome Aaron is the other heavy favorite in here who has shown the most to date on the track and will be forwardly placed throughout. I am also going to include (6) Sharpoon as an absolute wild card in here. I think the race breaks down late and this horse is too intriguing with the strong workouts coming in and the unknown owner/trainer; what's the deal here?
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
(7) Little Menance is my top pick in here from the outside after repeat impressive performances. I think Manny is aggressive enough early to get this horse involved and this horse has shown the ability to stick around. (1) Two Thirty Five is a horse that I like to find the rail early and have a late kick to compete for the wire in here under the leading jockey, Dylan Davis. (2) Pioneer Spirit is my last play to have an aggressive break and be set up to run a big run when the lane opens up down the stretch.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,2,7 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(1) ROYAL NUMBER shipped it and just missed the money. Castellano returns and they will both go early and often from the rail. McCarthy chooses (6) DANGEROUS EDGE over Royal and that’s where I landed. They should get speed up front to set up their late kick. Posted a big bullet for this a last week. (3) FULL MOON FEVER handled NW2L last time and moves to the next level. That’s not always an easy task but the connections are doing well. (5) AIR SHOW gets a second chance under Noda as he ran just ok first time out. With some moisture on the track, this Street Sense gelding seems to like it.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 5, 6 w/ 1, 3, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(6) CHESTERTOWN looks ike his old self. He’s been showing slightly improvement with every recent start and his last was his best yet. Moves back in against NY Breds. I’ll only use one more in here and it voids the two favorites, My Boy Tate and Lobsta. It appears (2) WATER’S EDGE may have the front all to him self. Vargas should be aggressive early and out sprint Lobsta. If they take back, he has a nose for the wire as he’s been no worse than 2nd.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 6 w/ 2, 3, 4, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
A wide open finale and I’ll use half the field. (6) BIG Q drops back to this level where she got 2ndto Guns Blazing with Davis up. We’re looking for that Re-Pete performance. (9) HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH has speed which makes her tough in here. There’s not a lot of closing runners in here so she may prove tough to catch through the lane. (2) R WORKING GIRL has the speed as well. Jocks instructions will be to go. This leads me to the other closer that I like (8) LEFT LEANING LUCY has been awful in 2022 but she doesn’t like the 1M distance and was too wide last time trying to close into a slow pace. She gets speed up front and will be coming late with Big Q.
