Sunday racing at Aqueduct on this rainy/icy day and we have you covered. It is Big Pete's B-day today, so we are extra invested into cashing some tickets! I will be condensing my plays to just the number and will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 (Races 4-6) . Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Many career maidens entered here so I will swing for the fences. I like (7) SONIC SPEED getting back to the dirt and cutting back to this 6F distance. His two recent races have not been the best of starts for him. He moved too soon to get back into the race last time but he wanted no part of the 1M distance. Lezcano is a confident move for Kimmel here and I’m expecting a good effort today.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
I think the two turns will favor the Brown runner (6) WINTER POOLthe most. He will take some money but I can’t leave him off the ticket as he’s the horse to beat. I will take shot at beating him with the rail runner (1) NO BURN. He too won’t mind the turns but more importantly, he’s the main speed. With the inside draw, Carmouche will likely gun to the front and save all the ground. The track may also help carry him up front as well. (2) KING KUMBALAY is interesting for Duggan shipping in. His last race got him a big figure and he too should save some ground.

Race 8:
(4) UNIGUE UNIONS dominated rivals in his debut and then tried winners and held his own. The slight cutback should give him the stamina to hang on today. A Re-Pete of his maiden win will be enough. Maker and (5) BARESE took a lot of money on debut and didn’t disappoint. He’s bred to excel at this 7F distance and there’s plenty of speed to set him up. (2) G MUNNING came out fast and took them all the way last time posting a big fig. Jose returns and it could be more of the same today. (7) DAUFUSKIE ISLAND has been keeping good company for his entire career. Senbei would be odds on in here and he ran 3rd twice against him.

Race 9:
I like the switch to dirt for (3) HE’S GOT IT. Davis takes the mount and he gets L1 today. The Closing Argument influence underneath is perfect for this 7F distance. I’ll try to beat him with the shipper (4) CAVE MAN. He ran a decent 4th to Unique Unions back in Nov and that one is running in the stakes race prior to this one. What stands out is that he showed speed going longer last time and now cuts back and goes one turn. The track can help him if he tries the same approach on the front ed today. He’s worth this 10:1 ML. (1) EMINENCY will go off the favorite but he looks a little dressed up to me. Closed nicely last time but the time was a little slow. (10) HOT STEPPER closed last time as well but that was against much better. He gets Trevor and L1 and should get speed to close again if the track lets him.
