Aqueduct: Sunday, 1/29, Plays

A cloudy Sunday of racing at the Big A but no rain expected. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(2) GHOSTLYPRINCE reaps the rewards of to major scratches in this race. He should get to the front and control it all the way. We'll try to juice up the exacta with a couple of prices.

(5) Sight Unseen or (6) Romanoatsee can grab the place.

We’ll also use (2) Ghostlyprince in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

(7) Super Quality or (8) Growth Mindset look solid in the 4th.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

We probably should press the all button in this NW2L bottom claimer race but that puts a big dent in the bankroll. We’ll try to get by with three as we roll the dice. (3) VILLAREGGIA woke up last time and caught the eye of Chichakly as she claimed this one and sends her back out there with a similar group. This mare has done most of her running outside of NY but her last two on this track would get it done today. A must use in this very suspicious group. I’ll use both (1) CARLY HUSTLE and (7) LONDON GOLD who exit the same race. Carly beat Gold in that race but I’ll look for Gold to turn the table on that rival. With a lack of speed in here, Gomez would be wise to let Gold go right from the first jump and make them come on get her.

Race 8:

It appears to be (1) TOTAL IMPACT ‘s race to lose. He’s been on a roll lately and doesn’t face a lot of fire power in here. A must use for me. I will, however, take a shot against as his odds will be very low. I’ll use the gelding who finished a few lengths behind him last time. (5) BOLD VICTORY has a few races that put him right there. He was claimed three back by Englehart and has now spent a couple of months with him. He gets a big weight shift and a dry track to close the gap. (3) LUNI SIMA has been consistent all year. Walder finally stretches this Keen Ice colt to two turns and I think that will help this guy. They likely stalk the leaders and gather momentum turning for home.

Race 9:

(3) CHAMPAGNE POETRY comes back from a long break and is not being offered for sale. Looks like the connections have worked out her issue and is ready to get back to the track. She dominates if she’s anything like she was early 2022. (8) CHASING CARA is a bit of a stretch but Davis returns and has closed in on several occasion to use. (11) HOT FUDGE has also been away for some time and returns for Rice. The fact that she remains in the race and not scratched by this outfit means this gal will be on her toes. (10) CAPTAINSDAUGHTER is live to me. She was getting to the leaders last time and Dame Cinco returned yesterday to run a solid 2nd. The switch back to her regular rider is a good sign that she came out of that race ok and is ready to roll.
