Sunday at Aqueduct and we have the entire card covered. We each will have a "Play of the Day" to start the day off and then I will be locked into a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will be focused on the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 2, 7
R5: 1, 4, 6, 8
R6: 2, 6, 7, 8
Cost: $32.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 1, 6, 7, 10
R8: 1, 4
R9: 1, 3, 4, 8
Cost: $ 32.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
(3) Default Protection is the horse that I am going to go with in here on the wet surface. The lineage has some impressive mud runners and I think this horse will be the strongest horse late. I will key with the field in here.
$5.00 WPS 3 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 3 w/ 1,2,4,5 Cost: $8.00
$1.00 Tri 3 w/ 2,4 w/ 1,2,4,5 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's "Plays of the Day":
Race 2:
(2) MO MISCHIEF showed speed in the mud braking his maiden. He's fresh off the Miceli calim and Davis jumps on. They likely go and bottom out this short field. He'll need to hold off (3) Halpert and (1) Masked Marauder late.
$ 10.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 30.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 2, 3 Cost $ 18.00
Race 3:
I like the one/two punch that Bond sends out. (1A) GALLINA showed speed for the first time and will likely try to do the same in here. If Trevor can catch a breather, the track can help get her home. The other option is that Gallina can provide (1) TELENTI a nice set up by softening the bunch up. She’s bred top and bottom to handle the off track and 7F seem right. She can ride the rails to midstretch and wait for the rest to back up.
$ 10.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 30.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 2, 5 Cost $ 18.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
This is a two horse race for me with (2) Fast Break being my top selection. This horse has the post position and the surface will allow this horse to sustain a front running score in here. I will be including (7) Crypto Cash as well in case (2) Fast Break is a step slow early and move on to the next race.
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
Race 5:
(1) ConstitutionalLawyer and (8) Perfect Flight ran into the Jerome winner last time out and are must plays for me in here. (4) Long Term is a very interesting horsein herefrom the Pletcher barn and I think the wet surface will only benefit the horse more. (6) RookieoftheYear is my last play with the experience at this distance and getting a muddy surface. I think that plays off of the horse's speed and makes a difference late.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,4,6,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 1,4,6,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(2) My Girl Annie has the inside post and should be able to close strongly against this field on a wet track. I think this horse will enjoy the drop back in class and run a big one today. (6) Bustin Bay wired the field last time out and will attempt a similar feet this time out. (7) Allure Fortune is an interesting play in here and Jose Ortiz is getting the mount. I think this horse will get an aggressive ride from the jump and be a contender late. My top pick in here is going to be (8) Ok Honey who has been training lights out coming in and performs well on off tracks. I think Manny will be able to sit behind the pace and fan out wide to have a convincing stretch drive.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 2,6,7,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 2,6,7,8 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
This is a tough bunch of NW2L Fillies to kick off this late pick3. (10) GUEENTIGUA is the one landed on. Her 1 for 27 record is hard to take but her last race looks very different than the previous 26. Gomez returns for her and the Alpha influence will help with the off track. The other one that I’ll use on top is (6) BIG TONY’S GIRL. Her only win came on this sloppy Aqueduct track when she showed speed. A must if you want to win on today’s track where speed is dominating. I’ll include two savors as well. (1) TANGOBERG is the lightly raced obvious choice as she doesn’t need to improve much. (7) BETTY'S SMILE is the hunch bet for the icon Betty White. She has a good record on off tracks and has shown speed in the past.
$ 7.00 WPS 10 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 6, 10 w/ 1, 6, 7, 10 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
A single alert on (4) BANK STING as she looks well prepared to handle this short field. Both the 7F and off track work in her favor and has the speed to control right from the first jump. A must use. I’ll include the rail filly, (1) ELOQUENT SPEAKER, after winning her last rather easy. She’s shown speed and the past and will likely try to use it to hold her position at the rail. That’s the place you want to be on this track lately.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 5.00 Ex 1, 4 w/ 1, 3, 4 Cost $ 20.00
Race 9:
(3) BOHEMIAN RUBY showed some speed last time after being a pain for the gate crew. That also was her first try against this level. Both dad and Grandpa handle the mud so I’m expecting her to go and control this from the start. (1) V PATTEN woke up on the drop last time and Jose sticks around for the nightcap. He’ll let his stablemate do the dirty work up front and come late. (4) FORTY TWO ACE is the one to beat. This Goldenscents drops sharply for Nevin, BUT is coming off an eight months break. That is not a good sign so we’ll only use defensively and try to beat him. (8) FORESTWOOD LAKE looked like he didn’t understand this game in his debut. He was just running around the track sight seeing early, then Cancel got him to focus late. He may let him loose today try to steal it.
