A cold Sunday of racing at the Big A to go with playoff action from the NFL. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $3.00 Early Double:
R1: 1, 3
R2: 2, 5
Cost: $12.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 3, 4, 7
R5: 2, 4, 6
R6: 1, 3, 5
Cost: $27.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 2, 4, 5
R8: 1, 6, 7
R9: 3, 4, 5, 8
Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Rudy has an uncoupled entry going in here and he enters the one he owns as a rabbit for his clients runner (4) CHOOSE HAPPINESS. She stumbled and did no running last time which is a little concern. I’m drawing a line through it as Franco probably would have opt out if she’s damaged goods. I’m looking for her to bounce back and pick up the pieces on her new stablemate.
$ 10.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 30.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 4, 5 Cost $ 18.00
We’ll also use (4) CHOOSE HAPPINESS in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(3) Beautiful Karen can wire them but (5) Reigning Chick will try to reel her in.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 4 w/ 3, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(2) LASTCHANCEATGLORY looks good on paper as he’s fresh off the claim but Rice keeps him at the same level and needed some time off. I’ll only use defensively. (5) MONEY MIKE has a few races that stack up well against this bunch I’m just not sure if he can get this 1M distance. I want (4) FAMISHED in this spot. He was 2nd to Glory when that one had the race his own way. Today there figures to be a little more speed entered and I’m betting the favorite won’t bring his A game. The move to the hot Franco is enough to make up the distance he lost last time and the 7:2ML seems fair.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 4, 5 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
The newly turned 3yr old NY State breds go at it. The three that will take most of the action look the part. (1) STARQUIST was getting to the leaders last time and figures to save ground today. (6) D’ONT LOSE CRUZ has speed and gets L1. I think he has company up front today which won’t help but if he gets to the front with no pressure, they won’t catch him. I’ll take the Dialed In gelding (7) WHAT’S UP BRO coming off a big maiden score. He sat chilly for most of the race just off the pace and moved on by without much effort. He should get a nice set up for the Re-Pete.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 7 w/ 1, 5, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(5) GINNSU WARRIOR may have found the right field as many of these haven’t cleared this level for a long time. His last two speed figures would be enough today (4) JOKEMEISTER has speed which is always dangerous at this level. Not much closing power behind him. There is one that I can see mounting a late charge though. (8) HE’SGOTTASHORTFUSE will do his best running late. He gets in light with a bug up. He was the only one gaining on Fenway when that one had his own way up front. Franco ends up on (3) JOHN’S PROTÉGÉ. That’s all you need to know the way he is riding so far..
