We are starting to head into Spring and the weather is cooperating. I will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 ( Races 5-7) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 ( Races 8-10 ). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(2) Left on Boylston is a firster that I would like to try in this one. The horse has some nice workouts coming in and I think will be able to find a nice rail position early; which pays off late. (9) Total Effort is going to be close to the lead and I think the experience helps. This horse should be able to save enough stamina to make it competitive late. (11) Lefty's War is switching surfaces and getting Dylan Davis aboard. We should expect this horse to have a ground saving trip behind the lead and wait for the lane to open up late to attack. (12) We Ready is going to be closing strongly under Eric Cancel and I think an early pace battle would play right into this horse's wheelhouse.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 9,11 w/ 2,9,11,12 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,12 w/ 2,9,11,12 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
I am sticking with the favorites in here with my preference on (2) Texas Basin as I think this horse will benefit the most from the inside position and when the two front runners battle each other on the lead. (4) Conformist is coming into this one getting back to the lower level field that he has performed the best at. (7) Mo Mischief will be on the lead or right behind it and if left alone then will be a tough catch late.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,4,7 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(1) SUMMER BOURBON dropped to this level last time and ran a respectable 2nd. That was his best race in four starts this year. A few of his races from last year would dominate this group so the thought is that this 9yr is coming back in form. It takes these older fellas more time to gather their legs. Davis returns and Miceli is having a meet.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him with (6) Flowers For Lisa and (8) Magnetron underneath
$ 7.00 Exacta 1 w/ 6, 8 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Summer Bourbon in a DAILY DOUBLE play.
Both (1) Forty Two Ace and (4) Cut The Cord look solid in the Race 4:
$ 7.00 Double 1 w/ 1, 4 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
A very large field in this lower level claiming race and I am going to go four deep in here. (1A) Never Early had an impressive enough debut to warrant a play in here and I think will only improve from that effort. (6) Run White Rabbit had a nice battle towards the front last time out and that kind of gutty run deserves an inclusion on the ticket in this one. (8) Kentucky Knight had a tough loss to St. Peter's on Thursday, so I think a REBOUND performance in here is due; NICE MARCH MADNESS REFERENCE. Cancel choosing this Wayne Potts entry and getting to a firmer surface on dirt is what really drove me to include this horse. (11) Bird Ruler will be my last play with the apprentice aboard will be instructed towards the front and this drop in class will make this horse dangerous throughout.
$3.00 WPS 11 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,11 w/ 1,6,8,11 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,6,8,11 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(3) My Gal Val and (9) Loz are two George Weaver firsters that I really like in here to run a big debut. I think both horses have been training extremely well and I think that both horses will be a contender late. The Chad Brown horse, (4) Tin Pan Alley, is a must play in here and the deserving favorite. This horse has not run since last summer, but remains at the MSW level. I think this horse is the cream of the crop in here and I would be silly to try and beat. (12) Eminency is my last play to the outside who has the experience from the Rudy Rodriguez barn and keeps improving each time out,.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,9 w/ 3,4,9,12 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,12 w/ 3,4,9,12 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
I am going to close with four horses in here, as I think this sequence is highly competitive. (3) Beverly's Charge is to the inside and Dylan Davis will use this to their advantage. (6) Closing Deals is coming into this one off of a win and going to trust that this horse is ready to race against winner's. (9) Trinity Titoli is another horse that is facing winner's for the first time, but I like the trend of this horse on the course and think will be on the lead early. (10) Tweaqued is my last play to the extreme outside and with a clean break, I think is the strongest horse in the field; must play.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 9,10 w/ 3,6,9,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 3,6,9,10 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
NY Breds sprint in this optional claimer. (12) REGGAE MUSIC MAN just cleared the 1$X level impressively and now moves up. Gomez stays and the front seems to be lacking speed in this race. If he gets his own way, we may be looking at a Re-Pete. The now horse may be (7) SCOCCIATORE. He just missed against this level two back and then faced better last month to get 2nd. I don’t think we get the 4:1 ML. There are two prices that I think could be trouble late in the game. (3) DOUBLE SHOT came off a year absence to crush NW2L last time and Rice saw something. The switch to Jackie is puzzling but they can certainly hit the board. (5) BRONX BOMBER has two fast closing 3rds on dry tracks and Rudy gave him a little breather for this. He was getting to Scocciatore last time and at 10:1 ML, I have to give this guy another shot.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 5, 7 w/ 3, 5, 7, 12 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(5) MONSHUN was very impressive winning her debut and her time was faster than these. Handal has been hot and go to guy, Davis, is up. Most of these have some speed so the first furlong or two will likely decide this one. If she gets an easy lead she’s gone. If they gang up on her, that sets it up for (1) ROSEBUG. She wanted no part of the 9F last time so the cutback to 6F is big here. Lezcano will let the others have their fun up front and then crash the party late. As a savor, Brown is always dangerous in these spots and he sends out (3) EXXALTRESS. Back to back bullets and a generous 9:2 ML is a must use for me.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 2, 3, 5 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
We end the card with NY State MCL. I like that Gomez stays with (3) EUDAIMONIA for another shot. She held well for 3rd when they met last time and the lead may be hers again today. I will put the Maker filly (12) KISS ME SMILE, on top today. I like that she breaks well outside the speeds and Davis jumps on. They can stalk and circle around the tiring runners through the stretch. She took money first time out so there must be something there. The two prices that I like are (1) MRS BANKS and (10) TASTY WAVE. Banks showed speed last time with L1 added and Wave had a bad start and had no chance so the drop should help.
