We have a cold and snowy afternoon of racing, but at least the racing is heating up. I will be condensing my plays to just the numbers and will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 ( Races 4-6 ). Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 ( Races 7-9 ). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
If they allow (5) Cost Basis to dictate his own pace, there’s a pretty good chance they won’t catch him. Brown is on fire here but 3/5 is worth a shot against. I’m looking for the two rail runners to go and make the favorite work a little bit. I can’t ignore the run that (3) COMPETITIVE SAINT put in last time. He broke several lengths behind the field and made up significant ground against a rail bias. It was his first attempt on dirt and did well to get 3rd. He needs the favorite to stub his toe but his 8:1 ML is worth the shot.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
It will difficult to beat (1) DARK MONEY in here if he Re-Petes his last performance. Rudy claimed him two back and he responded well with Gomez up. His stablemate may be his main danger so the entry looks solid. The only other I’ll use is from the hot Baker. (3) TRUE GOLD has been dominating FL runners last year and then tried the NYRA circuit and held his own. If the MONEY doesn’t show, this Frost Giant can pick up the pieces. The only other one that scares me is the potential lone speed (7) MISS ALPHA. He’s 3 for 3 on an off track, so if they leave him alone up front, he may be tough to reel in.

Race 8:
(2) WUDDA U THINK NOW is rolling right now and gets the acid test today. He’ll likely go and try to wire them. If he runs his last, he’ll be tough. (4) MY BOY TATE continues to produce race after race. He probably needs others to put pressure on the favorite early to help set up his late kick. There’s some speed outside so I’ll give this old vet the nod over the favorite. I can’t lie, (3) JEMOGRAPHY was awful last time but I’m guessing he needed that one after trying the big boys in the Hudson. That must have taken a lot out of him and I’m looking for him to get back on track today. He likes it here at Aqueduct as his best races have come here. He’s worth the 12:1 ML that should hold up. I can’t see the others letting Wudda go easy early so I’ll try to catch them all late with a strong rally.

Race 9:
Asmussen is 10 for 17 hitting the board this meet but only 3 wins. He has the favorite, (4) SABREEN in here as they drop several spots. That usually is a bad sign that the runner has taken a turn for the worse. I’ll use defensively only. (6) REELEY PSYCHED showed some speed and now cuts back to 6F which is his better distance. Some of his figures are much better than these so if he can find one of those, he’ll be right there. It’s hard to take 7:2 on (8) PHENOMENAL WOMEN after her last race but maybe she didn’t like the slop?? She has speed, so if she hits the front, that works in her favor with the bug up. Like R8, I want to take another shot in here. (1) BANK STATEMENT showed some speed in her debut and then stopped. Next time out, she seemed lost early on then made up some ground. The slight drop in here is just enough to give this gal a chance. This Central Banker won’t mind any left over moisture and should save ground. Her stablemate would bat this group on turf so if she can take dirt in her face, she can upset this bunch as well. A two for one special at 10:1 ML.
