Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
I will take (10) Data Deal on top in this one with a bad break last time out and getting back to dirt. I do not think this field is very strong and Dylan Davis is going to be aggressive throughout and challenge the field to keep up. (7) Mister J T is another horse I think will be aggressive early and if there is a repeat performance from last time out, then this horse is a danger to wire. (4) Blame it on Brutus is a horse I am going to give a try in here. This horse has some good races under his belt and should only improve with the experience. I think Javier will find the lane late and make this interesting. (9) Romantic Man has a couple of nice races under his belt and will be looking to eat up ground late; will give a try in here to fly down the stretch.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,10 w/ 4,7,9,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 7,9 w/ 4,7,9,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
(3) Just Right seems “right” for this spot (Nice). I will be including with the expectation that this horse will be able to find the rail early and find the lane late to run on with this one. I always like Trevor McCarthy aboard a horse that possesses speed. This horse will have a nice trip throughout and going to trust him to time a nice closing race on (4) True Gold. If (8) ManifestDestiny runs the same race last time out then it will be a wire to wire effort; will include in case the horse can re-PETE. (10) Bad Guy is my last play in here who should be waiting for the moment to run on with this one late.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,10 w/ 3,4,8,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,8 w/ 3,4,8,10 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(1) Mischievous Diane figures to take some money in here. Both starts she showed speed but couldn't hang on. The cut back helps but we're going to try and beat her with either of the Asmussen runners. I prefer (6) SENSEOFEXCELLENCE a little more than (7) GOODMORNING ANGEL but the latter is getting more attention on the ML. The guess is Lezcano goes with Angel and McCarthy let's him do all the dirty work up front. If there is any left over moisture, the Street Sense filly might like it more.
$ 10.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 30.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
(1) Rudy Rod comes in strong to this one and should be able to handle the early pace in here to have a convincing stretch drive. (8) Charlie Five O is in good form coming into this one and I think will benefit from early pace in here. I trust Manny to find the lane late to run a convincing stretch drive. (10) Trash Talker is a very interesting horse in here getting Jose Ortiz aboard. This horse is ascending and the Ortiz bump in NY will be on display in here.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,8,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
(5) Celine the Queen has some impressive bullet workouts coming in and an interesting firster in this group of unprovens; plus, Jose Ortiz. (7) Kant Hurry Love has some impressive races under her belt as a 2 year old and should have the best chance late to break her maiden. (9) Ribot’s Valentine is training well coming into this one and Dylan Davis will keep this horse involved throughout.
$3.00 Ex Box 5,7,9 Cost: $18.00
Race 6:
(1A) Honey Money is coming in strong to this one and will be able to find her footing early to save for a ground saving trip late. (4) Vacay gets some class relief in here and my top pick in here. I think Manny Franco will be aggressive early and be able to save enough energy to be the strongest late. (6) BreakfastAtBonnies is an impressive horse and will be on the lead throughout this race. This horse just may be too on top of her game to catch late.
$3.00 Ex Box 1,4,6 Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
We’ll use the outside runners to kick off this late Pick 3. (7) HAMMERIN AAMER is not the same animal after the Sept claim. He’s running speed figures that don’t exist in his running lines. I’ll ride it and use defensively. (9) MEXICAN WONDER BOY is the one I’ll put on top. He came off a long layoff to run 2nd to a Re-Pete winner Villainous. He has stayed busy in the morning so I’m thinking he still is holding form for this. (8) DADDY KNOWS ends up in the Handal barn as he’s been claimed many times. He doesn’t have to improve much for the new barn to win this.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 7, 8, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
(2) GLASS CEILING has upped her game recently and figures to be tough cutting back to 6F. Her speed figure in the Pumkin Pie top all of them in here. Hard to leave off the ticket and use defensively. Brown sends (5) STARFRONT who prefers the shorter distance and may have needed his last. Jose sticks around and the bullet works are pilling up. We should see his A game today. (7) SONG RIVER will get first jump or go right from the start. With other speeds signed on she may need some misfortune at the break for the others. If she clears, she’ll be tough to reel in.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 5, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(2) BELLA PRINCIPESSA prefers turf but the off track may be to her liking. She has better speed figures than most in here so if she can handle the mud in her face, she’ll be tough (6) BUSTINMYGROOVE likes to finish 2nd ( 7 out of 14 Starts ). There’s not a lot of speed in here so She may be able to take them all the way. (14) DONNYBROOK GIRL drops to the bottom in here and attracts Carmouche. With the Street Sense influence, the muddy track will play in her favor and 9:2 ML is too hard to pass up
