3 yr olds battle in the Jerome Stakes on this chilly day at the Big A. Then the older folks go 9F in the Queens County. Let's have some fun. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

This NW3L claiming race looks like it plays out according to plan. The three favorites will battle and one of them should prevail. For me it’s (5) SKYLANDER. He’s been facing slightly better for most of his career and his last should set him up nicely here. He closed a little to get within 4 lengths of the winner and posted a decent speed figure. Davis got the test drive that day and returns for the encore

Both (4) Holey Matrimony and (6) Blu Grotto look solid underneath.

With Victory Formation winning the Smarty Jones, (4) LUGAN KNIGHT looms large here. He was moving well with that one and now this Goldenscents stretches out to the 1M distance. Davis takes the call and both will close in late. (5) ANDIAMO A FIRENZE is fast and has two strong wins on off tracks. If they leave him alone, they’ll pay for it later. (6) ARCTIC ARROGANCE has speed and cuts back to this manageable 1M distance. He was many lengths clear of the 3rd horse in the Remson and is your horse to beat today.

Race 9:

With the cancelation last week, they bring back the Queens County today. (8) ELOQUIST continues to get no respect winning 4 of his last 5 races. He’ll try to steal this one just like the rest of his races. (7) LAW PROFESSOR will be tough in this spot. He exits 3 straight G1’s where he ran ok in all of them. Franco is hot and is a must use. (2) UNBRIDLED BOMBER woke up in a big way posting back to back strong wins. Looking at his work outs, he is tearing down the barn waiting for this. I’m expecting a big run today.

Race 10:

(4) YO CUZ comes off a 7 month vacation and adds L1. Mott is patient and has worked this gal back in shape. Some sharp moves in the morning should have her ready to roll. Both (2) CAPTAINSDAUGHTER and (11) I’M BUZZY do their best running late so expect them to be closing in close to home. (9) DAME CINCO is the now horse. Atras claimed this one two back and they were a runaway winner next time out. They cut her back to 7F and Franco stays. All systems go.
