Spring time racing in New York and we are at the Big A for 8 races today. I will be condensing my plays to just the number and will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 ( Races 3-5) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 6-8). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
No turf and that's what (5) King Kumbalay was hoping for. Howeer, this PA bred has not run his best races here and is worth a bet against. We won't get anywhere near the 30:1 ML, but (2) CIVIL WAR exits the G3 Dwyer and has a win on this Aqueduct surface. He gets in light and the Bodemeister's don't mind mud in their face.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
The switch to dirt has me only interested in two to kick off this late Pk3. (7) MORE AMMO is a firster from Chad Brown that probably wants turf but her pedigree suggest that mud/dirt won't be a problem. She has some fast works and goes L1 for her debut. (11) EMPRESS THEODORA is also an Empire Maker with a little Fusaichi in her. Her debut at the Spa is all she needs to duplicate here to beat these. McCarthy helps the cause and the 1M distance seems perfect.

Race 7:
(5) HAGLER will throw himself in the ring and try to wire them. He exits two subpar races but they were against better. Vargas has two wins with him, (6) REBEL EMPIRE ships in for Klesaris and gives Davis a leg up. Some strong works over at Belmont and breeding suggests distance shouldn't be a problem. (1) UNBRIDLED BOMBER's Jerome run and maiden score puts this guy in the mix. They switch back to Lezcano and has been fast in the morning leading up to this. (8) LUNI SIMA's last races came out of nowhere or was it the L1. Both times he races with L were both of his wins. He gets it today as well as Castellano. This Keen Ice won't mind the off and I'm all in at this 8:1 ML.

Race 8:
Both runners exiting the Wasp race will attract most of the attention. I prefer (6) KHALI MAGIC as that one finished 2nd that day. She was bet heavy and didn't run that bad. A similar effort today should put her right there agian. (7) IFIHADACHANCE does today. She tried to come wide that day and may need to save some ground to turn the table on the top one. I'll go a different direction and try to beat them both with (3) A BIT O'IRISH SASS. This Laoban was clicking this past summer and then went to the bench. They set there return against some prime time sprinters and she couldn't keep up. That was most likely a public workout for her as she now stretches back out to the preferred 1M. Look for McCarthy to get her involved early and look for daylight entering the stretch.
