Aqueduct 4/16 Pick 3 Plays

Friday racing at Aqueduct and we have ourselves a wet and cold day. We are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I was able to hit my ticket yesterday, but it was all chalk with Irad taking over. Today I will be looking to take down races 3-5 and Big Pete will be looking to capitalize on races 6-8. We also will have our "Play of the Day"on the other two races to ensure we have the whole card covered. We appreciate you taking a read and hope we all have a profitable day! GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race : 2
Icy Dude will attract a lot of attention and rightfully so. He'll have some company up front though and we'll hope they can soften him up some. (3) TRAPPEZE ARTIST woke up when he stretched out and now gets to go a little farther. He steps up slightly but there are not a lot of others in here that like to win.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race : 1
There are several runners in here that are dropping in for a tag. They can’t compete at the MSW level so they are looking for some relief OR, they just can’t run anymore. I’ll let them beat me and stick with (3) SCOTT ALAIA who has already made her debut at this level. She just got beat by Big Tony’s Girl last time and that one jogged last week. Rudy giving the keys to Irad is the only negative. Not at her chances of winning, but now the price won’t be as high as it should be.
(2) Quiet Type and (6) Cosmic Kitten have decent runs for a shot at the exacta.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
I am going to single (6) Warfront Fighter. I think the moisture is going to greatly impact this race and see this horse finding the lead or sitting right behind it early. I think that Cancel has a significant advantage in here with the best horse in the race and going to give him the trust to bring this horse home.

Race 4:
I am going to go four deep in here and make my top selection be (6) Scilly Cat. This horse is coming in off of a long layoff and remains at the same level. That is a good sign to me and getting Jose Ortiz aboard is an added bonus. I think that there are going to be some fast early fractions set and this horse will have enough left in the tank left to hit the wire first. (1) Bears Mafia is coming in after an impressive win in wire to wire fashion and will look to do the same in here. The fantastic rail position just assists this horse and a must play for me. (3) Dark Money will be stalking the lead and looking to run past tiring horses late and this race could call for that type of run. Last play will be Irad aboard (4) Steam Engine who I think will be aggressive in here and will get the Irad bump. I expect this horse to be the favorite come post time and do not want to leave off ticket.

Race 5:
The two Rudy horses look extremely dangerous in here, (3) Malibu Pro and (7) Supreme Aura. Both of these horses will be sent towards the front early and could run away with this one. I will lastly include (6) Legit who could benefit from an early pace duel and has Cancel aboard to give a great stretch drive in this mile distance.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
The 6F distance is what (8) FLAT AWESOME JENNY wants to do. She tried longer in her last two and it just doesn’t work. McCarthy won on her the last time they sprinted and we’re looking for a Re-Pete of that. (9) NEW YEAR’S WISH has been facing much better as of late. She too is a sprinter and dad didn’t mind the moisture. She’s been off for some time but it appears all systems go with Jose getting the call. (1) LADY BY CHOICE tried better in her last two and now drops to a level she dominated three races back. There appears to be some speed for her to target.

Race 7:
Mott it off to a quick start and he moves (6) EL HERMANO back in against fellow NY Breds. He didn’t do much running last time after being away for a year. He returns today off two very sharp works over at Belmont. He has races that match up well with this group and I’m guessing he’s sitting on one today. Worth a shot at this 12:1 ML. (9) COLD HARD CASH did no running last time when trying this level. He’s capable against this group as they old have difficulty getting to the line first. Cancel sticks around for another crack so I will too. (1) JUST RIGHT ran well first time for new trainer and now he attracts Jose for this. He was knocking heads a year or two ago with New York’s finest so he has it in him to run a big one every now and then. (3) DADDY KNOWS usually shows up so we’re expecting him to be there late. Franco won on him before and they team up again.

Race 8:
It’s hard to look past (1) MADERA in this spot as she’s hit the board in all five starts and now gets some class relief. There’s no indication that she’s damaged goods as her last was very competitive. Rudy, Dubb and Franco usually show up for a reason. The only other runner I’ll use is (3) MEBS WEB. She doesn’t mind the moisture if there is some left in the track. There appears to be a few in here with speed but no one sees to last. If they can soften up the favorite, Mebs Web should be moving forward through the stretch.
