We have a HUGE day of racing at the Big A which consists of ten races and headlined by the Gr.3 Gotham in the 9th. We will be looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that will cover the pick 6 sequence in what we expect to be a good betting pool day. I am coming in after a hit on my play yesterday (Not a huge deal) and will be looking to remain hot. I will be focusing in on races 5-7 and Big Pete will be locked into races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 1, 3, 4, 5

R6: 2, 3, 4, 6

R7: 1, 5

Cost: $32.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 2, 3, 8

R9: 3, 5, 7

R10: 1, 4, 5, 8, 9

Cost: $45.00

Race 4:

Kendrick aboard a horse that possesses speed is dangerous at this meet. (2) Not Phar Now should be able to find the lead and hug the rail throughout. I think this horse is primed for a big race in wire to wire fashion and will put him on top against this field.

$4.00 WPS 2 Cost: $12.00

$3.00 Ex 2 w/ 1,3,4,5 Cost: $12.00

$2.00 Ex 1,3,4,5 w/ 2 Cost: $8.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

All of these fillies are just passing the time to wait for the grass to open up. They all appear to be bred for that. I’ll try to beat the favorites with the Quality Road filly (5) DUCKPHAT. She showed a little speed against a good one in her debut, then rated in her next race and came with a run. She may have figured this game out and Trevor returns. She’ll be overlooked at the windows and her dad was arguably the best miler out there. Big breeze last week indicates she’s read to roll. (3) Destinationwnscir and (4) Epona’s Dream have decent runs at this level to get up for the exacta.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00

$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 3, 4 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use Duckphat in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

(1A) Remoane and (5) Mebs Web look solid in the 2nd

$ 7.00 Double 5 w/ 1, 5 Cost $ 14.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

This appears to be a competitive claiming race to start off our ticket. I like (1) Z'Finale in here to shoot towards the front from the outside post and get a bit of a head start on the field. McCarthy has been running very well recently and will give his horse the best chance to win this one; plus, we will be getting (1A) Mighty Wind as well. (3) Another Shot is a horse that I like to be in a stalking position around the turn. I think this horse will have a convincing stretch drive, especially getting a fast track today. (4) SimbasAllTrouble is a price horse that I will like to try with Manny choosing to ride in this one. This horse is coming in just racing about a week ago after a brushed break from the gate and stretching out a bit. I think this horse is going to be more live than what he has shown on paper in here and could make some noise late. My last play will be (5) Scotto who ran a very nice race last time out in January and will look to improve with more distance. I think Romero will be able to find a nice rail position early and let this horse fan out wide to try and run down the field late.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00 $2.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,3,4,5 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 1,3,4,5 Cost: $6.00

Race 6:

I am going completely made and going to try and beat the two horses in here that are entering this one beating their last opponents by a combined 22 lengths. I am just expecting both (1) Miss Brazil and (5) Mo Desserts to be each others kryptonite in here. They both will be seeking the lead and the rail position would favor (1) Miss Brazil to be possibly be able to sustain a bigger run, but I am expecting some blistering fractions in here early. I think that opens this race up to every other entry in here. My top pick will be (3) Search Results who is facing winners in here for the first time, but I trust the connections and the horse had an impressive debut. The stretch out is most likely the best thing for this horse and Castellano is back. (2) LaobanOnAPrayer is going to be closing very strongly from the rail under Kendrick in here and I like the form this horse is in leading in. (4) The Grass is Blue is another Chad Brown horse who ran a nice race back in January and has been training well leading into this one. (6) Make Mischief is coming in winning two in closing fashion and I like that running style in this one.

$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,4,6 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 4,6 w/ 2,3,4,6 Cost: $6.00

Race 7:

I really like the horse shipped in from California by Bob Baffert in (5) Speed Pass. This horse has run a big race in each of his starts even if the record does not scream that. This horse is coming in with a some bullet workouts and I think will be in the front throughout. I will be including (1) Pete's Play Call because I expect a similar run in this sprint and he has the rail in here.

$5.00 WPS 5 Cost: $15.00

$5.00 Ex Box 1,5 Cost: $10.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Something went wrong with (8) LAKE AVENUE so Mott sent her South to regroup. The time did her well as she looks to be her old self with a 7F public workout last time. The barn has been as cold as the weather up here but hot down at GP. I’m guessing she’ll bring that warmth up here today. Pletcher will not go quietly with (2) THANKFUL. Thi Pharoah keeps getting better with each race. She’ll likely stalk the speeds and get first run on the closers. She’s stubborn and doesn’t let many pass her so she’ll be a handful today. (3) LANDING ZONEis the wild card in here. She blitzed though conditions rather easy and held her own facing similar class out of town. Connections must be confident as they follow the money and are looking for a piece. The 1M for this Morning Line filly should work well for her.

$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,6,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

3yr olds start their journey to the 1st Saturday in May. Brown has two in here as his (3) HIGHLY MOTIVATED has done everything right to date and Castellano flies in to re-unite with him. The 1M, one turn for this Into Mischief fits well and his bullet last week should have him ready to go. Baffert is the danger. He usually ships them in and leaves with the cash. (7) FREEDOM FIGHTER was coming off a 6 Month vacation when he grudgingly lost it close to home. He definitely shook of the rust then and must be knocking down the barn door for Baffert to ship him in. Manny likely goes right from the start and never looks back. I’m not going to let the “other” Brown beat me and include (5) CROWDED TRADE. He won without sweating in his maiden win and appears to want more ground. He’ll follow his stable mate and try to pass them all through the stretch. He’ll be the better price of the three so we’ll give him the nod.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$5.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 3,5,7 Cost: $20.00

Race 10:

Rice has been patient with (8) BLUES CITY this winter as he worked himself back in shape. He gets the bug weight and will look to wire this bunch. It’s now or never for this guy. (9) BREITHORN drops for this and will be closing in late. This is the weakest field he has ever faced and should be decent odds. (4) THE BIG S has a for sale sign on him as he drops off a cliff after not lifting a step fresh off his claim. Not a good sign. I want the rail runner at a price. (1) TRAPPEZE ARTIST shipped in two back and made a nice run to get 3rd. Then caught a muddy track but seemed to run a higher number. Now you see the switch to Cancel and figures to save ground. If he can find some room, they should be coming late with a purpose.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,9 w/ 1,4,8,9 Cost: $18.00
