It feels like a great day to have a day, so we are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays at Aqueduct. I will be locked into races 3-5 and Big Pete will be focused on races 6-8. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on the other two races to make sure we have the whole card covered on this Friday afternoon. Let us know your thoughts on the plays below. We would love to hear from you! GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R3: 2, 4, 6
R4: 3, 4, 6, 8
R5: 3, 6, 7
Cost: $36.00
Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:
R6: 1, 7, 8
R7: 2, 5, 7
R8: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9
Cost: $45.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
Big Pete left me with the first race which is a four horse field with a clear cut favorite. None of these horses really look capable on paper to beat the (5) Full Moon Fever, so this looks to be a race to single for horizontal plays. I will throw a low WP bet on the (1) Rumdum Byda Sea who may show more life against the favorite this time around. The fast track may allow this horse to run a better race.
$4.00 WP 1 Cost: $8.00
$5.00 Double 5 w/ (Big Pete's) 4 Cost: $5.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
It may take a miracle but (4) NO MORE MIRACLES may have found the right field in this NW2L event. He has a handful of races that match up to the contenders in here and he should get overlooked in the betting. The switch to Franco is the main reason though as Donk must have him ready for a good run and wants a rider that will give him his best chance.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him with (1A) Curlin’s Knight and (5) Bulwork underneath
$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 1, 5 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use No More Miracles to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(4) Mission Wrapitup and (6) Money In The Bank look solid in the 3rd
$ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 4, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
I only like two horses in here and will include a third on Big Pete's recommendation. I really like (2) Mr. Phil in here to run a winning race. This horse is getting a fast track and a jockey who likes to find the early lead. We should expect an aggressive ride early in this 6 furlongs sprint and may be able to hold that lead throughout. (6) Money in the Bank does look to be the clear favorite on paper in here and most likely winner. Dylan will be able to find an early stalking position on the rail with this horse's speed from the outside. I think this horse will be the strongest late and is going to be a tough contender. My last inclusion will be Big Pete's (4) Mission Wrapitup. This horse is also going to benefit from the fast track and could have a better position around the turn compared to the (6) Money in the Bank which could give this horse a head start come stretch drive.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,4,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 4:
Both (3) Bourbon Rising and (4) Kith will be my pace horses in here. I think these two horses will have an aggressive ride early to find the lead or sit right behind it. This could set them some lengths in front of the field and could end up being a two horse race with them. I do not think that will happen and like the morning line odds on (6) LotsNLotsofChrome and (8) OhYouDidntKnow who I think will be charging on late to compete for this one down the stretch. I like this race to be competitive and hoping we get the highest price of our plays to hit the board in here (Don't we want that everytime..).
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 3,4,6,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 3,4,6,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 5:
(6) Indian Counselor is a must play in here for me. This horse is the perfect match for Cancel's preferred riding style and this field does not look to be that menacing. With that said, I want to close our ticket out with some coverage in case the race is won on the front end. (7) Spitball is a horse I like to be sent to the lead and Dylan Davis may be able to work out a trip in the front if not challenged by others. That head start could pay off late and get this horse to the winner's circle. Last play will be (3) Unrelenting Force who gets the better post position compared to the other two horses mentioned above. This horse will show early speed and Manny is not keen on giving up the early lead. That could equate to a front running score for the Asmussen barn in here.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 3,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
Noda has had a tough meet but the last couple of weeks he’s been heating up. He claimed (8) LOVELY LADY LEXIback in Jan and worked two strong bullet for this. Cancel joins the party so look for them to be on their toes today. (7) MALIBU MISCHIEF has been keeping better company and winning a lot of races. She’s tailed off slightly while out of town but it’s Rudy so we’ll include but try to beat. (1) FLAT AWESOME JENNY has been dominating at this level and her stable mate will likely play the roll of rabbit. She’ll be coming late.
$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,7,8 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
This race looks chalky to me as the three favorites look strong. (2) MAIDEN BEAUTY has found her grove lately and steps up after a front running score. If they leave her alone, she might forget to stop again. (7) TIMELY TRADITION is you likely winner. She been facing better all year and like to win, but she going farther than she used to. She’s classy enough to pull it off but that last furlong could be interesting. I landed on (5) STAND FOR THE FLAG. She got back on track last time closing to get 2nd against similar. She’s the 1M specialist of the group and Atras is having a meet. The pace looks to be honest and that should set this gal up for a strong finish.
$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00
$5.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 2,5,7 Cost: $20.00
Race 8:
We’ll spread out here in hopes that were alive in this MCL event. I’ll stick with Atras to nail this late double with (7) WHAT MIGHTAVEBEEN. After showing a little speed out of the gate, they drop her slightly and put the aggressive Carmouche up. I like the cut back to 6F as they will try to wire this field. Firster (3) COMPETION QUEEN hasn’t proven she can’t run yet like most of these in here. Cox convinces Manny to stick around for the night cap. (9) TRICK THE UNIVERSE can improve second out as most young fillies and Artie Schiller’s do. (2) LOVE THAT FACE and (5) BIG TONY’S GIRL will take the most money as both have speed and have hit the board at this level.
