Big Pete had himself a nice little Thursday with a $ 450+ winning day. I will give him yesterday, but the weekend is early and I do not take losing to him lightly. I am locked in and ready to cash some tickets. Today we will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays that cover the pick 6 sequence at Aqueduct. I will be focused on races 3-5 and Big Pete will close the card on races 6-8. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on R1 & R2 to provide a full card analysis. Hope you are playing along and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete made the mistake of allowing me to finish the post so I added a runner to his R3 as an alternate. Since you cashed in on my Pk3 yesterday, you should have enough to cover the extra cost.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R3: 2, 3, 6, 7, (5) Alternate
R4: 3, 5, 6
R5: 2, 4, 7, 8 Cost: $ 48.00 or $ 60.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R6: 1, 5, 6
R7: 1, 2, 3, 4
R8: 5, 8, 10, 11 Cost: $ 48.00

Race 1:
I am hoping the tote board over thinks this one and attempts to beat (2) Pay Grade. I will take (2) Pay Grade at 8/5 come post time and feel good about our chance of making money. This horse has shown improvement in each of her two races and should be able to graduate in this one. This field does have some decent runners, but I am investing in Cancel to get it done with a horse like this.
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
$3.00 Ex 2 w/ 1, 5, 7 Cost: $ 9.00

Race 2:
Rice sends out a pair and the main focus will be Icy Dude. He's been running well lately but that was against weaker. I prefer the "other" (6) KINGFISH as the race came up void of speed. Look for Franco to take advantage of that and go early. Something went wrong last time so draw a line through that one as that was against much better. He doesn't mind the moisture and he'll be better odds than his stable mate.
(4) Icy Dude and (5) Vitesse have decent runs for a shot at the exacta.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 4, 5 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Kingfish in R2 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(5) Tapizearance and (7) Freaky Styley look solid in the 3rd
$ 7.00 Double 6 w/ 5, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
(2) Imperio D looks to be in good form in here and coming in with about three weeks off and one workout. I expect Manny to be aggressive from post position 1 and be able to navigate a ground saving trip from the rail throughout; which pays off late. (6) Royal Suspect has Carmouche aboard and will be sent towards the front early. If Kendrick can work out a nice trip in here (which he always does) then this horse will be a tough catch late. (7) Freaky Style is getting the play for the class drop and the Eric Cancel pick-up. This could be the field that this horse needs to run his best race and I do not want to leave Cancel off my ticket. Last play will be (3) Blood Moon who I think will benefit from cutting back in distance even though it is only a furlong. I think there may be an opportunity late for a late surging horse and I think this horse will be able to sustain a good run and could find the trip to run by tiring horses. Big Pete chiming in. I been waiting for (5) TAPIZEARANCE to re-surface and here he is. Drops slightly and is facing runners who just cleared the NW2L level. Out of a Cryptoclearance mare, the wet track will only help. I couldn't resist.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,3,6,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,7 w/ 2,3,6,7 Cost: $6.00
Race 4:
The favorites look good in here so going to include the three of them and look into cashing in next race. Top play for me will be (5) Per Capita who I expect a huge run in here with the extended layoff. This horse has the speed I like and the speed rider I love. This horse will be able to break strongly and show off in this mile distance. (3) Tenderfoot ran an okay second last time out, but has more in sight this time out. Cancel will not be passive in here and knows that he will have to place this horse forwardly to win this one. Last play will be (6) Chestertown who is a tough horse to put money on but will be playing the firmer surface angle and this horse could have had a rough race last time out because of that off track.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,5,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
The two Linda Rice horses off the claim look very good in here and both will get a play from me. (4) Social Group will improve this time out and be able to be aggressive early. (8) ThereIsAStormBrewin is the other claimed horses and likes to find the early lead and try and sustain. This may be the field that he is able to sustain a winning effort. (7) My First Grammy ran a big race last time out on the lead and coming in with that grit. I think this horse is ready to run a repeat performance and that could be the winning race. Last play will be (2) Pier Forty who will be sitting behind the early pace and waiting for his moment to pass the tiring horses and that could be the winning style in here if the fractions are fast early.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 2,4,7,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,8 w/ 2,4,7,8 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
(5) NINTH HOUR but couldn’t hold off Snape last time and is ready for the rematch. He’s the one that I’ll use of the two, but try to beat them both with two others. The once classy (1) KOSCIUSZKO drops in for a check as he’s been facing much better than these. He dropped to this level in Dec and ran a higher number than anyone in here. His last two will be good enough today. I would like (6) RELEASETHETHUNDER a lot more if the trainer had at least one win. He’s only had him for a few weeks so I’ll trust the Gelding more than the trainer. He was moving in the right direction against Snape and that one won next time out. He’s worth a shot at the 8:1 ML
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 6 w/ 1, 5, 6 Cost $ 12.00
Race 7:
It’ll be difficult to leave (2) DOCTOR K off the ticket. Back to back 10 length wins for this Rudy colt and showing no signs of slowing down. Franco returns. (3) RETURN THE RING is another Speighster (Doc K) that will likely try to stay close to the Doc early. He appears to be on his toes as he sports a bullet for this. The cut back to 6F will most likely help him through the stretch. (4) JOHNNY SACK ships in for the bigger bucks. This guy broke slow and still won rather easy. He’s been training fast, outworking the locals. If the above two go at it early, Heeerrrrreeeessss Johnny! (1) WELLMAN also ships in. He’ll likely set up shop just off the speeds and slip through the rail for a piece.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 3, 4 w/ 1, 2, 3, 4 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
I only like two in here on top, but we’ll use four. (5) DOYOUKNOWWHOIAM returned from a lay off to finish 3rd vs slightly better. She gets help from the scratches as the other speeds decided to stay in the barn. Franco will likely go to the lead and make them come and get her. (8) GRAPE THERAPY has a couple of decent runs on off tracks. Not a surprise being out of a Street Cry mare. I landed on (10) VIVA LA LIBERTY. She responded to L1 two back closing to grab 2nd when she faced this level. Then she was spinning her wheels trying to close outside on a track that you needed to be on the rail. She loses a little weight and goes an extra furlong today. I’m all in. (11) BUSTIN BAY made a significant improvement last time than what we saw from her in her first three races. She followed that up with a bullet last week.
