We are not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but we are caring in some momentum from yesterday's hits and look to remain consistent. We will be attacking the pick 6 sequence by splitting the play into a pair of pick 3 plays. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R3: 1, 3, 4, 7
R4: 2, 3, 6
R5: 1, 2, 3, 5
Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:
R6: 2, 4, 5, 6
R7: 2, 3, 4, 7
R8: 1, 2, 3
Cost: $48.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
I think that the two Rice horses will get attention on the tote board and allow us to get (2) Lucky Girl at somewhere between 4/1 and 7/2. This horse made up ground last time out after brushing the gate and being fanned out 4 wide against (3) La Kara Mia. I think this horse has an improved trip in here and be able to save ground around the turn to be the strongest late.
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
$3.00 Ex 2 w/ 1,3,5,6 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
There will be a ton of money bet on Macho Jack to get it done. I’m not conceding as his best races have come on wet tracks. I’ll try (5) JUSTIN FRONT to duplicate his last race. He was coming off a two month vacation and returned to sprinting. This is what he wants and gets off the rail. He’ll likely stalk the speeds and wait for Cancel’s cue.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him with (2) Earned Success and (4) Macho Jack in our exacta
$ 3.00 Exacta Box 2, 4, 5 Cost $ 18.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
I really like (3) First Dawn in this spot at a price. I think that this horse will benefit strongly from it being a fast track and will be able to sit behind the early pace from the inside to have a strong stretch drive. I think an aggressive ride early is in order to be 1 or 2 lengths back from the front and then let the horse run late. (1) Holmdel Park has the post position and the early speed to find the lead. I think this horse is dangerous with those advantages at this level. (4) Jara is going to be closing late against this field and has the jockey to get that perfect trip from. Cancel is becoming a much better rider and this style of racing is one he is really getting a strength for. Last play will be the (7) Love Me Tomorrow who is definitely going to shoot from the gate to the lead and try and wire the field. This horse must be on my ticket in case she runs too far away from the field early.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 1,3,4,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,3,4,7 Cost: $6.00
Race 4:
Chad Brown has the likely winner in here with the dangerous looking firster in (2) Take a Chance and the young (3) Secret Potion. These two horses most likely will run 1-2 in here and worth a look at just including them. I will throw in (6) King James to the mix with those bullet workouts leading in. This horse should show some early speed from the gate and speed is very dangerous in these sprints, so will give this horse a try.
$4.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,6 Cost: $16.00
Race 5:
(5) Impazible Donna looks to me to be the best play in here. I am throwing out her last time out and focusing on her strengths. This horse is going to seek the rail for a nice stalking position and Kendrick will be able to save ground around the turn. This horse should show much more of an effort this time out and will be a dangerous horse come stretch drive. (1) Baby Boss has speed and the rail in here, so will also get a play in here for me. I think that this horse will be able to find the lead early in here and could possibly sustain a big run. (2) My Roxy Girl is also going to show some early speed, but I think will be right behind the horse to her inside. Cancel should be able to save ground and run with (5) Impazible Donna late. Last play will be (3) Eloquent Speaker show is coming in after an impressive driving win at a higher level. I think this horse will benefit from some early pace and find a lane late to compete.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 1,2,3,5 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,3,5 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
We’ll spread out to start the late Pk3 action. There seems to be more speed than closers, so the fav, (2) DID I STUTTER will have company up front. Even though she won at the 1M, I’m not convinced she likes to go that far. I’ll focus on the runners that will be coming late. (6) PONCHO SONG fits that category. Won last time from off the pace and Hennig is in a zone right. I’m not sure (4) FAIR LASSIE wants to go this far but his two best races on paper were at 7F and he’s fresh off the Levine claim and Cancel returns. That’s where I landed. (5) MIA BEA STAR has made steady progress after Rice claimed her in Dec. Got beat by Adhwaa twice and won at this distance recently so she may be sitting on one as Carmouche rides her for the first time.
$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,4,5,6 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
It’s not surprising that the Blame filly, (3) I’M FINE wants distance as she closed well in her last three starts. She was on the outside of the track last time and that was not the place to be as the rail was best that day. Englehart has her in top form right now and Cancel returns. (2) DANCING KIKI likes to hit the board but rarely wins. She finally gets to stretch out and is also a Blame. Her madian win is good enough to win in here.. (4) HONEY MONEY is a Central Banker so the stretch out to 1M is a positive move. She’ll likely get first run and will need to hold off the charge of I’m Fine. (7) VIENNA CODE won easy last time. If she can handle the class jump, she’s worth a look.
$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 2,3,4,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
There’s nothing clever to add in this MCL event as the three favs look the part. It’s (3) TINY MAGOO’s race to lose. Did everything right last time she just got nipped at the end. Likely winner but we won’t concede just yet. She’ll have to catch (2) BLEY, as Rudy woke her up last time and let’s Franco take over today. That’s enough for me to include this gal. I’ll try to beat them both with the entry. (1) ABSOLUTE PRIVILEGE made up a lot of ground two back after a stumble at the gate. She’ll let her stable mate go at it with the top two early then, take the baton coming into the stretch. Cancel taking the controls is major swing as well.
