We have a nice 9 race card today at the Big A and we are going to remain consistent with our plays. We will be looking to take down the pick 6 sequence with a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be locked into races 4-6 and Big Pete will close it out with races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

Race 3:
I will take (4) Save with a WPS and playing into a pick 3 with my other plays below. I think this horse will prove to me too much for the field and love that Kendrick is getting the mount. This horse will not mess around and find the lead and never give it up. Sometimes it is necessary to take what the race gives you and not try and convince yourself to play anything else.
$5.00 WP 4 Cost: $10.00
$1.00 Pick 3: 4 w/ 1,2,3,6 w/ 3,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
The drop for (5) PURPLE HEARTED is a little bit of a concern as he’s been competitive in both starts facing better. He should improve the farther he goes so the 1M works in his favor. The switch to Cancel means Englehart must have him ready to go and wants clear sailing to get it done. He’ll be the favorite but I like a price underneath to juice up the exacta. (3) Reunion Tour also needs distance and should be coming late. (2) Jade’s Dream has speed and the Drosselmeyer’s can run all day.
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Purple Hearted in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(2) Frankie Barone is the baby of this group at 5yr and (5) Hammerin Aamer drops in class. They both look solid in the 2nd
$ 7.00 Double 5 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
(2) BreakfastAtBonnies looks to be the goods in this one and on paper looks extremely tough to beat. With that said, I do think there is some early pace in here and with this being the first time this horse is stretching out I will include three more horses that look pretty good in here. (1) Pleasure Luck is getting the rail position and has the stalking speed I like. This horse will be ridden aggressively to ensure not giving up that rail position and come stretch drive could have a fanned out wide run at the wire. (3) Teetotaler is going to be lower than the 12/1 morning line come post time because I think this horse is beginning to figure it out on the track. I like this horse to find a nice position tucked in behind the front runners and be able to have some in reserve to possibly hit the wire first here. Last play will be (6) Shanes Pretty Lady who gets a fast track and shown the ability to close late. I think this horse will get a nice ride from the outside and be charging strongly late.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,3,6 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,2,3,6 Cost: $6.00
Race 5:
I typically do not like to do this, but I am going to trust the favorites in this lower level claiming race. (7) Warfront Fighter looks to be strong from his previous two leading into this one and should be able to sustain a good run in here. (6) Profusion should get some better fractions to run into today and could be the strongest horse come stretch drive. (3) Confectioner is going to be ridden aggressively in here and a forwardly placed horse is where I want to place my money in these types of races.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 3,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
We will close with four in here with my top selection being (4) FinancialStability. This horse is continuing to improve and Cancel choosing to ride again in here gives the horse the boost I like to take this one. (5) Quickflash has the early speed and will be the horse in front in this sprint, so need to include in here. (1) Leap to Glory has the rail position and typically hangs around throughout the race. Maybe this could be the one to get it done even with the tough win percentage. (3) Moonachie is the last play who I do like in here to also be ridden aggressively. Could be the two favorites in front running on with it so need to include.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 1,3,4,5 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,3 w/ 1,3,4,5 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(7) REED KAN found it difficult to get to the lead early in his last two races. He needs to be in front and I think he gets there today. Benji will be instructed to go as the only other possible speed scratched out. Rudy has two in here and both are dropping a level or two. Not his best move but he can have them ready for sale. (5) SNEAKINESS has faced better recently but has burned money. He gets a breather here in the class department and sports a bullet for this. Your likely winner if he doesn’t let Reed get away. The 9yr old (3) VICI doesn’t win often and may have lost a step or two, but drops in to face a much easier group than he’s used to. Got to within ½ length of Reed the last time they met. The switch to Franco means these connections are serious and I’m expecting a big run from him today.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,7 w/ 3,5,6,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
Brown has given (1) GOLANI BRIGADE some time off and some steady breezes in the AM for this race. I doubt we see the 5:1 ML so if the money shows that’s a good sign. (8) DARK MONEY had trouble last time and had to re-rally He may show more speed today to keep clear from any trouble. I want (7) DOUBLE SHOT to pass them all late. He closed on the outside of the track when the rail was the place to be that day. There is plenty of speed signed on to set him up. (6) MORE GRAYTFUL moves back in against fellow NY Breds. He beat this level back in Nov and Franco returns to try it again.
$7.00 WPS 7 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,6,7,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
I’ll use four to close out the Pk3, but I really only like two. (3) IRRESISTIBLE GIRL got to the front last time but couldn’t last the 1M. The cutback to 6F will likely give her some stamina to fight the whole way. I prefer (5) WINDS OF CAPRI. She closed nicely to get 2nd in her debut and did it against the grain. The outside part of the track was dull yet she made up ground only to lose to a rail ridden runner. We’re looking for a similar effort and hope that we get a fair track today. (6) ESOTICA has speed and cuts back. If she can clear, she could be tough to reel in. (9) SUMMER BREW has had many chances but now gets Cancel for the first time. It’s now or never for this one.
