We have an excellent 10 race card today at the Big A which is headlined by the Correction in race 9. We are going to look to be consistent and attack a pair of pick 3 plays that cover the pick 6 sequence. I will be locked into races 5-7 and Big Pete will finish off the card on races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. Let us know your thoughts on the plays as we hope to hear from you. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 2, 3, 6, 7

R6: 2, 4, 5, 9

R7: 3, 7, 8

Cost: $48.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 2, 6, 8

R9: 1, 2, 3, 6

R10: 1, 4, 8, 9

Cost: $48.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

Rob Atras' barn has been heating up and I like the workouts on the firster in (8) Saint Selby. This horse will be sent to the early lead in a race that does not possess a horse that has blistering speed. I think this horse will be able to find the early lead and save ground throughout. With that head start on the rest of the field I think that this horse can sustain a winning race first time out.

$5.00 WPS 8 Cost: $15.00

$3.00 Ex 8 w/ 1,2,4,5,7 Cost: $15.00

Race 3:

Chad has two in here and both will get bet heavy. I prefer (4) STRAFE as she ran lights out last time but settle for 2nd to a talented O’Trouble. I want to take a stab against the other Brown filling in the exacta with (2) Aunt Kat and (6) Venus Oyzo. Kat has speed and Venus likes to close. We’ll try to get one of them underneath Strafe.

$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use Strafe in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

(2) Heavy Roller and (5) Mine The Coin look solid in the 4th

$ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00

Race 5:

This race intimidated me a bit as I think that there could be four horses from the gate fighting for the lead. That could open this race up late for a price horse to sneak in and take this one. With that said, I will play (2) Shamrocked and (3) Fox Red to be the horses that are able to duel for the early lead. These two horses have the ability to separate themselves from the field early and put themselves out of reach for a closer come stretch drive; which is why I am including both. (6) Cavaradossi and (7) BatterBatterSwing are two horses that I like to be able to find an early rail position right behind the pace and have somewhat of a say come stretch drive. I think that both of these horses will be the strongest late and that could equate to a trip to the winner's circle.

$0.50 Trifecta Box 2,3,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

We have another lower level race in here that could be won by a couple of horses in here so will spread out a bit. The two favorites, (2) Royal Kaz and (5) Devious Mo, are horses that will show early speed and like the assessment above they could just run away from the field in here; both will get a play from me on the ticket. (4) Bar Fourteen is suckering me in with Kendrick aboard and consistently decent workouts leading in. Kendrick is riding Bruce Brown horses in this one and the following and I like both horses to run a big race. (9) Alite is a closer from the outside that I like to have a strong stretch drive. If the horse is able to stay within a reasonable distance of the front runners come stretch drive, then this horse could be a late surging winner.

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,4,5,9 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 2,9 w/ 2,4,5,9 Cost: $6.00

Race 7:

I really like (8) Posse Can Disco in here against this field. I think that Kendrick will not mess around in here and shoot this horse to the lead from the gate. The horse has performed extremely well when getting a fast track and an aggressive ride. I just think that combination will measure up to be a victorious one. (3) Tiz Kaz Now is another horse that possesses early speed and getting back to the lower level that this horse has proven to be a winner at. Manny will use the post position advantage and find a better trip for this horse. (7) Scorpion Dynasty is coming in after putting up a wire to wire win at this distance and a 90 beyer speed. Albeit that was on a muddy track and horses weren't really making up ground on him. If he runs a similar race then this horse has a chance to take this one.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Both favorites look the part. I prefer (2) BIG ENGINE a little more. He ran a winning race last time but just couldn’t hold off a savvy vet. Rice seems to have him sharp right now and gets Cancel and lasix again. (8) SECRET RULES is also sharp right now as he hasn’t missed the board in eight starts. If left alone early, he’ll be difficult to reel in. I’m going to try the classy (6) CELTIC CHAOS. He finished right behind Secret and that was after a clumsy start. He needs the speeds to go at it and there’s a good chance that the pace will be hot. The 6.5F should fit well with his closing kick.

$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,6,8 Cost: $12.00

Race 9:

The main focus is (3) AMUSE shipping in for Mandela. She’s fast and has been keeping decent company out west but she rarely wins. We’ll use defensively but try to beat her with the rail runner (1) KANSAS KIS. She was bet heavy last time and just didn’t fire. Maybe it was the mud but I don’t think she wants to go that far. The cut back to 6F seems to be just what she needs. She’ll likely sit off the hot pace and wait for Dylan’s cue to come and get them. A generous 8:1 ML for this gal is hard to resist. Both (2) SADIE LADY and (6) AWESOME DEBATE want the lead and if either can shake loose early, they can wire them.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,3 w/ 1,2,3,6 Cost: $18.00

Race 10:

I like four in this MCL to close out the Pk3. The lightly raced (8) UP FOR ADVENTURE took some money in his debut and ran a decent 4th. Davis returns and he’s been working fast in the morning. Not a lot of speed in here so this guy will likely go and try to bottom them out. (4) SKIPPINGANDAJUMPIN woke up on the drop last time and Rice saw something she liked so she claimed him. Why she chooses Luzzi over her regular riders is my only hesitation. (1) FOREST SPIRIT also showed some life with the drop and Cancel returns. The lack of speed is a concern but should save some ground and close in late. I like the Central Banker gelding (9) LITTERBOX to come and get them late. He closed last time to get 2nd on a track that didn’t favor outside runners. Should stalk and wait for Pablo’s cue.

$7.00 WPS 9 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 8,9 w/ 1,4,8,9 Cost: $18.00
