We have live racing at the Big A and I am not trying to make my head get bigger, but I may be net up $400 with my Friday and Saturday plays. I will remain humble and won't even bring that up. We will be playing a pair of pick 3 plays today that cover the pick 6 sequence. I will be focusing on races 3-5 and Big Pete will be focusing on races 6-8. We also will have our "Play of the Day" for the other two races on the card. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R3: 1, 2
R4: 1, 4, 6
R5: 2, 4, 5, 7
Cost: $24.00
Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:
R6: 1, 4, 5, 7
R7: 2, 6, 7
R8: 2, 4, 6, 7
Cost: $48.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
Favorite, (1) Dial Me Up, looks good in here and I think that some others in here will get some money thrown at them to make this horse better odds than the 1/1 morning line. I will look to take down an exacta with him on top and look to play a nice double into the start of the pick 3 play.
$5.00 Ex 1 w/ 2,4,5 Cost: $15.00
$4.00 Double 1 w/ 1,2 Cost: $8.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
(1) TEKILA did not run well in her debut but yet was bet heavy next time out and she ran a respectable 2nd , validating the money. Hennig now stretches her out and that’s usually good for the Liam’s Maps. Davis will likely have to go from the rail to secure his position.
We’ll use (4) Strong Point and (5) Bravo Regina underneath.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 1 w/ 4, 5 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use TEKILA in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(5) Mind Of Gold and (6) Sky Kitten look solid in the 2nd
$ 7.00 Double 1 w/ 5, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
We are scratched down to four horses in this one and I landed on (1) Chestertown as my top pick in here. I anticipate Manny to find a rail position early and come stretch drive have a convincing say as to who wins this one. (2) Tenderfoot will also get a play from me as the track is muddy and this horse ran a big race two back with these conditions. Will assume this horse will have another race like that this time out.
$3.00 WP 1 Cost: $6.00
$3.00 Ex Box 1,2 Cost :$6.00
Race 4:
I really like (4) Esor to run a front running race in here and that could be the winning move. This horse will be immediately sent to the lead and this track may be tough to run down horses, so this horse is a nice play here for me. The favorite, (6) Ajahr, will have a say in this and a must play here for me. The outside post is tough and this will require a good ride by McCarthy in here, but I will need to include. Last play will be the inside horse in (1) My First Grammy who is also going to be aggressive from the gate and that are the plays that I want in this race.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
My top pick in here is (4) Elegant Zip who has been in great form since moving to dirt and I am expecting this horse to have a great stretch drive to take this one. I hope that we can get a good price on this horse with the presence of some other good horses on paper.(2) Sirenic and (7) Invaluable will be looking for the early lead and both could run away with this one so will be forced to include. (5) Glass Ceiling will be my last play who I think will be stalking the front runners and possibly be the stronest late.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 2,4,5,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,4,5,7 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
If (5) REED KAN is left alone on the front end, the rest will have trouble closing in late. He wasn’t faster than Happy Farm last time and now drops down to a level he has already won at. (7) HONORABLE SERVICE was gaining on a couple of these in here and has improved since. We’ll include at this price. I can’t resist (4) TOPPER T in this spot. Claimed back in Nov, he’s been training well and had trouble at the start in his return race last month as well as idling early stretch. Posted a big bullet for this last week which was faster than Reed Kan. Of the closers, (1) POPIZAR shipped in to almost catch Happy Farm last time. McCarthy subs in..
$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 1,4,5,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
You can probably get away with using only two in here. (7) LETMETAKETHISCALL has been dominating in her last three. But, she’ll need to go an extra furlong, face the boys and may have company with Rudy’s runner Mad Munnys who wired similar two back. I think this is (6) WICKED TRICK’ s race to lose. He was better than this group last year and then went on the shelf. Returned two weeks ago and almost got to a sharp Mi Tres after a stumbling start. Rice looks to have this guy back and puts current go to Jock up. The mortgage will be in jeopardy if we get the 5:2 ML odds. (2) HONOR UP used to be good. He’ll likely follow Wicked and 2nd is very possible.
$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 6,7 w/ 2,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Race 8:
The 1M may have been too far for (7) YEROSILVERBIZ in his last, so the cut back to 6F should be the difference. Davis can either go or stalk and save some gas for the stretch. (4) ASK NEAL finally woke up last time on the drop. Drops some more here and is the one that will be closing in late. (2) SINASHACK likes 6F better too and Cancel returns. Any left over moisture will make him the horse to beat. It’s rare to see Asmussen here this time of year. He convinced Franco to jump aboard (6) BLACK ‘N TAN so I’ll include.
