Aqueduct 2/21 Pick 3 Plays

We are looking to close the weekend with a couple of cashed tickets today at Aqueduct. We will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays that cover the pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 4-6 and Big Pete will focus on races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I will take (8) Humpday on the class drop in here. I think this horse will be able to find a rail position after the break and be able to run down the field late. I also like the inside horse in (1) You've Got Male to run a much improved effort in here. This horse is getting blinkers and has the rail from the post position. I will be using both of these horses in an exacta play.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
I’m not conceding this race to the two inside favorites as they ran just ok and not worth a short price. I’m guessing (6) MIA CALIA could get lost in the betting because of her record. She quietly, has improved leaps and bounds in her last two. Faced open company two back and wasn’t far from the place spot while show some speed that she never showed before. She then battled up front last time facing fellow NY Bred gals. She looks like the main speed in here and gets in light with the bug up.
We’ll use (2) Mill Stone Creek and (4) Trick The Universe underneath.

We’ll also use MIA CALIA in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
(6) No Lime is the logical choice in here for me on paper. We should expect a late charge from this horse down the stretch to compete for this one, so will include. (8) Smile Bryan is another closer in here that I like and think Dylan will be able to find a rail position early in this one and save ground around the turn. This could equate to a fresh horse come stretch drive. (3) Mine the Coin will be sent to the lead and if left alone it will be tough to catch this horse late. Last play will be (2) Vitesse who will be stalking the lead throughout this one and the post position only helps this horse. Luzzi has had a pretty good meet at the Big A and could add another win to the record.

Race 5:
My top pick in here is going to be (2) Gozilla who had trouble from the gate last time out and should be able to run a front running race in here. Kendrick will not mess around from the gate and look to wire this field. (4) RunningWScissors will have a similar tactic and look to find the lead. These two horses could run away with this one. (5) Abuelo Paps is going to be stalking the lead and coming in here in good form. Vargas could find himself in a stretch battle late with the front runners. (6) Rejected Again will be my last play who should be able to find a good position behind the pace and have a fanned out stretch drive.

Race 6:
(5) Maracuja is a logical play in here and will make my ticket. I expect a late surge from this horse to compete for this one. (1) Becca's Wish has the rail position and will be able to save ground throughout. Expect this horse to have a convincing stretch drive. (3) Mun Luv will be my last play who has steadily improved and will be able to show off her speed in here.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
Favorite (4) ADVANCE NOTICE may have a pace advantage over this group. If Franco can give him breathers along the way, they will be hard to pass through the lane. Cancel may try to stay close with (5) PERCEIVED to avoid getting wired. They were too far back last time and couldn’t gain on the front runners. I’m guessing Rice will tell him to go as well. That is where (9) DUST DEVIL comes into play. He’ll sit mid-pack and gather momentum coming into the stretch. He dusted NW2L runners fresh off the claim and looks like a new animal. I’m looking for the Re-Pete (8) MIAMI MUMBLES is fresh off the DePaz claim and sports a fast workout for this.

Race 8:
(1) OBSESSED has been improving for Pletcher and he may have found the right field. He was 2nd to two sharp runners recently and the 1M seems about right. Davis returns and he may choose to stalk today as there is plenty of speed entered. Something went wrong with (4) MALIBU STAR last time as he didn’t run at all. Breen checked under the hood and everything looks fine based on his 2/12 breeze. I’m expecting a big run from this guy cutting back to 1M. (2) DADDY KNOWS will be on the engine and look to take this field all the way. He’s run well recently and on this track so a Re-Pete is possible. (7) FAMILY BIZ likes to come late. It’s Rice and Cancel again and they’ve been winning races as of late.

Race 9:
Rudy claimed (3) BLUGRASCAT’S SMILE in early Jan and he gave him a decent run last time getting 3rd. With just rest since, I think we’ll see the old Smile grinning ear to ear through the stretch. Franco returning is a good sign. (9) CHIEF KNOW IT ALL finally woke up last time and looked like his old self as well. He was claimed that day and new connections are hoping for the same result. Davis gets the call again. (10) I LOVE JAXSON did grind out the win last time and should get a similar set-up today. I’ll use defensively. My wise guy pick is (6) HAWAIIAN NOISES. He was gaining on the sharp Tale Of Mist last time and gets to go a little farther today. If any left over moisture, this Super Saver may be able to get there.
