Aqueduct 2/13 Pick 3 Plays

A 9 race card today at Aqueduct and we are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be focusing in on races 4-6 and Big Pete will be locked into races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on races we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. Big Pete hit his PK3 play yesterday with all chalk for the record. He gets upset if I do not praise him (Needy guy). GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
Let's look to catch a price underneath the two favorites in here who look extremely tough to beat. (2) Afleeting Glance will be able to run on past tiring horses late and (4) She's An Alpha has an opportunity to break out of her addiction to placing. (1) Idaka has been crazy prices in her last three races and finally gets to a relatively nice field to run against. This horse has shown closing ability and could hit the board for second. (3) Big Red Girl is a price that I really like in here to hit the board. I like the stretch out and think this horse will have an extra kick come stretch drive. (6) Mizzys Image us going to be a horse that just sticks around in here and could find a good trip to hit the board for second.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
The focus will be on Royal Suspect and Beta but I don’t think either one of them want any part of this 1M distance. I’ll lean heavy on the Potts runner (3) I SEE THE STARS. He ran evenly last time and was a clear 3rd. He’s won going longer and he gets a break in the weights. Cardenas will sit right behind the runners and wait for them to back up. All he needs to do is maintain his stride to beat these. We’ll use the favorite and the two for one entry underneath.

We’ll also use I SEE THE STARS in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
I think this is going to be the most competitive legs in the sequence and for that reason I am going to go four deep. (4) Maria's Gift looks to be in good form and I think will only improve with a more firmer track. (6) Emma and I will look to be on the lead early and I think this field is asking for someone to wire them. (8) New York Banker is a daughter of Central Banker and we are waiting for her to figure it out on the track. I will give this filly another try, but the displays this far are not too great. Last play will be (5) Rosies Surprise who I think will run a surprisingly good race in here.

Race 5:
I think both of the Rudy Rodriguez entries will be difficult in here and I am leaning towards (1) Yankee Division to be my top selection. (7) Wudda U Think Now is coming in strong with a nice allowance winning effort and triple digit beyer speed. I think this horse will be sent to the lead and that could be all this horse needs to handle the field. I just think that (1) Yankee Division will be able to sit behind his stablemate and be the strongest horse late down the stretch with the great post position. My last play is going to be a late surging (5) Advanced Strategy who is also coming in after a gutty win at this distance and should be in similar form to run a big one in here.

Race 6:
(5) King Moonracer is a firster I will give a try in here under Manny Franco. This horse has some consistently good workouts leading in and could be fast out of the gate. (1) Reggae Music Man has run the best races to date and that experience does pay off in these maiden special weights. (3) Purple Heart ran an okay race first time out at Aqueduct and should have plenty of room to improve in this one. (4) Forty Two Ace has some experience and has run against some decent fields. I will give this horse one more try.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
I’ll look for the two that are dropping in this low level claiming event to kick off this last Pk3. Favorite, (1) SHAMROCKED, ran well of the Miceli claim only beaten 4 lengths by 40k runners. A Re-Pete of that should be plenty for this level. The only question is why the big drop. For that reason, we’ll include others. (10) VICAR’S LEGEND finished 2nd back to back when facing this level, then tried slightly better. He should be the one closing in at the end. I’ve been touting (3) TALE OF MIST in his last three starts and he finally came through last time. It’s a big ask for this level of a race horse to win back to back but he is feeling good right now. I guess it’s possible. (6) IRISH ROAR ran deceptively well last time and is a price. Anyone of these can have a day, why not today for this guy.

Race 8:
With the rail runner out, (5) SECRET RULES looms large as he’ll sit just off or take control early and make them come and get him. Mott is struggling here so that’s the only kink in his armor. Rice is left with (8) WICKED TRICK. This guy was automatic in 2019. Then 2020 came. He out worked Happy for this on 1/27 and if he’s right, he’ll be a major threat today. I’m convinced. The other closer I want is (2) T LOVES A FIGHT. He looked like his old self last time, I think the track favored speed that day but still managed to close in. (6) MI TRES POR CIENTO didn’t fire last time but we’ll give him one more shot to duplicate his Dec 19 win. That would win this one today.

Race 9:
I’ll focus on the two exiting the 1/22 race. (7) LORD CAMDEN has been collecting check recently and found the right field. Was bet heavy last time and was a non-threatening 2nd. I like the switch to Cancel for this stalker to come get them late. (9) LADY’S BOY just got nailed by Lord last time but there seems to be less speed in here so we’re expecting this guy to forget to stop. Martin is having a meet and he calls on Franco for (5) FOREST SPIRIT. Some solid works for his return as he faced much better last year. We’ll include in case he is ready. (2) APEX PREDATOR has beaten most in here already but likes to finish 2nd instead.
