We have live racing at NY to close out the year with an 8 race card at Aqueduct. We are rolling in with some momentum with the Sunday hits, so look to carry that into today's plays. We both will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays with me focusing on races 3-5and Big Pete will be focused on races 6-8. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we believe we can improve the bankroll on. Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
I am going to take a chance on the 12/1 morning line odds on (4) Blunt Force. I really believe that this race will be won by a closer and I think this horse will work out a nice trip under Cancel and be the strongest late. I will play this horse with a WPS and throw in a little more money on the exacta.
$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00
$4.00 Ex 4 w/ 1,5,9 Cost: $12.00
$2.00 Ex 1,5,9 w/ 4 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
(6) WARFRONT FIGHTER had a rough start last time , but still managed to beat eight other runners finishing 4th. Has shown some speed and expect Cancel to be closer today. She has races that are faster than these have run in the past so we’ll lean on her to beat this suspect field.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use her on top with the favorites to come running late for our exacta.
(2) Confectioner and (5) Mucho Sunshine
$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Warfront Fighter in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(2) Courageous Girl and (5) Wasp look solid in the 2nd
$ 7.00 Double 6 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
Four deep to start the ticket with the top pick being (7) Bingo John who I think will be set up right behind the early pace and be able to sustain a big run down the stretch. Lezcano eats up wins this time of the year in NY and it is worth it to have him always on your ticket. (8) Dancing Buck ran a big debut on turf and I think can repeat a similar performance on dirt in here against this field, so will get a play. (2) Lobsta is a horse I like to be able to save ground from the inside position and be able to run by tiring horses late and possibly hit the wire first or second. (4) Interstate is a horse that could play upset in here with those odds. The workout leading in and how I think this race will be ran make this horse a viable contender in here for me and I think worth the shot.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 2,4,7,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,8 w/ 2,4,7,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 4:
I am going to play some prices in here as I think the favorites are vulnerable. I will be including one favorite in (5) Daria's Angel who I can anticipate will be sent to the front and at this level this horse is dangerous to wire. My other two plays will be off that pace a bit and could have the most left come stretch time. (1) Fair Regis I think is a dangerous horse from the inside post to be able to save ground throughout and running in relatively good form for her age. I think this horse could find the winner's circle for the first time this year to close it out. (4) Blunt Force is another horse that I think will enjoy some early speed and should be able to handle the cold surface here.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,5 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,9 w/ 2,5,6,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,5,6,9 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
Both (4) DURKIN’S CALL and (10) HEAVY ROLLER exit the same race and finished within a ½ length of each other. They’ll take some money here and look solid. But I can’t trust both of them though as they just don’t win often. I’ll lean on two others to jump start this lat Pk3. (3) CREATIVE PLAN moves back to the dirt and drops slightly. He also has two wins at this distance and gets in light. Cardenas should go with him and make the rest of them try to run him down. (5) DIRECT ORDER was claimed by Noda two back and returned to almost run down the two favorites in here. Look for this one to put in that same run today.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,4,5,10 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
I’ll take the lay up here and use the three favorites as they look very solid. (6) PALOMITA will try to be the controlling speed after a tardy start last time made it to difficult to get there late. Franco is familiar with her and Brown drilled her last week for this. (4) LETMETAKETHISCALL blitzed fellow NY Bred mares last time and meets open company today. She ran a big number then and if she can Re-Pete that today, she’ll be a handful. (1A) GLASS CEILING just missed first out off the claim and retains Lezcano again. She won’t mind the moisture.
$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00
$5.00 Ex 1,6 w/ 1,4,6 Cost: $20.00
Race 8:
I’m going to throw out likely favorite Crick and hope for the best. His last was too bad to trust her today. (13) PLINK FREUD has shown speed on grass, but I think she’ll Handal the dirt here. Davis shows up and will be instructed to go. (8) MIZZYS IMAGE finished right behind (14) GRAPE THERAPY and both look poised to show up again. We’ll include but I’m interested in a price here. (11) EMPRESS LUCIANA was a nose behind Mizzy two back, then tried open company last time to get the show. This gal looks live as Baker calls on Franco to time it right today.
