We were snowed out of yesterday's card with over a foot of snow, but that couldn't stop us on this Friday afternoon. We are going to attack a pair of pick 3 plays at Aqueduct which covers the late pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 4-6 (On a roll; no big deal) and Big Pete will focus on races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive new blog post notifications and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 1, 6, 7
R5: 4, 6, 8
R6: 1, 2, 6
Cost: $27.00
Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 3, 4, 8
R8: 1, 3, 6, 7
R9: 1, 5, 6, 11
Cost: $48.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I am going to try and take a horse that might just love racing at Aqueduct in (1) Sadie Lady. I always like Kendrick aboard a horse that has some early speed and I think he will know how to sustain a big run in this 6 furlongs race. I like trying to beat the favorites in here and worth trying to cash in on.
$5.00 WPS 1 Cost: $15.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
There’s a good chance (6) KENTUCKY KNIGHT will get overlooked here as both trainer and jock are not familiar with the winner’s circle. However, this Speightstown has shown speed in both his dirt tries vs MSW. He now gets an easier group on the drop and cuts back a furlong. A clean break will go a long way for this guy to hit the wire first. We should get all of the 8:1 ML.
$ 10.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 30.00
We’ll use him on top and two closers to pick up the pieces for our exacta.
(2) Sinashack and (5) Stimulus Maker
$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Kentucky Knight in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(1) Secret Zar and (7) Girardi look solid in the 2nd
$ 7.00 Double 6 w/ 1, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
The two outside horses are a must play in here and I will include. They each should be either on the lead or right behind it and have plenty left against this field to run them down; (6) Lovely Lady Lexi and (7) Cindervella. I also would like to include a horse that I think will be sitting right behind the pace and benefit from the post position in (1) DublinNorNotHin. I think that this horse will surprise some late and I think a good price at 10/1.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
I am going with the morning line favorites in here at this extremely lower level race. My top pick will be (4) Mills who I think will benefit from an early pace battle and have the most left late. (6) Playwright is another horse that just keeps racing in NY and I just can't leave off my ticket. Horse looks to be in good enough form to handle this field in the front. Last play will be (8) BluGrascat's Smile who is another horse that loves NY and continues to get me to bet him. I will stay consistent as the Potts barn may be getting hot right now.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 4,6,8 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
I am going to go three deep in this filly maiden special weight and exclude (3) Munnings Muse. (2) Beautiful Karen I think is the logical winner in here and is ascending at the right time. Linda Rice has a favorable field to run this filly against and she could be graduating in here. I also like (1) Moon Sweeper to have an improved trip from this post position. I think an aggressive ride early from Dylan will pay off late for this filly. Last play will be (6) Equant who I think could play spoiler in here at 6/1. The workout leading in and the previous race makes this horse look live to me and I think Kendrick is riding too well to leave off a possible live horse.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,2,6 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
There’s a few speeds in here and one of them is a rabbit for Potts. He ships in (3) COHIBA GHOST from Woodbine and figures to get the set up he needs. The key is Manny takes the ride and will look to time it right. The other one that will benefit if the speeds go at it is (4) PRINCIPAL DANCER.. He has a few races this year that stacks up well against this level. He also carries less with the bug up. The only speed I want is the Alpha gelding (8) COOLBOY who gets some needed class relief. His problem is he doesn’t win (1 for 27) but he’s fresh off the Englehart claim and sports a bullet for this.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 3,4,8,11 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
The two favorites look solid in this 1M Allowance. Pletcher has the Union Rags (7) SOUTH OF THE SHORE. His races are better than anyone in here but they came well over a year ago. If he’s ready, Lezcano will put him in position to win. (3) CUSTOMEREXPERIENCE rewarded Rudy fresh off the claim with an easy win last time and will try to Re-Pete that effort with Carmouche up. The distance fits for this Cairo Prince. I’m going to take a shot with the Maker’s filly (1) QUIET DIGNITY. She’s a Kitten Joy but out of a Bernardini mare, so dirt shouldn’t be a problem. Maker’s winning races this meet and goes to Davis. They will be a price so that’s where we’ll go. .
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,3,6,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
We’ll spread out in the finale to try a lock down the late Pk3. I like the switch to dirt for (5) TANNERS NECK LANEas the Uncle Mo influence should help him gt over this surface. One of these Run Happy’s will eventually run so we’ll include (1) NICKY THE VEST as Carmouche jumps off Tanner and lands on this firster. We’’ also use the two Street Sense’s (6) BREW PUB and (11) BLURT. Both ran well in their last coming in 2nd. Wet track would help but they don’t need it.
