Friday racing at Aqueduct and we have a nice 9 race card. We are again remaining consistent with our plays and keying in on a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be covering races 4-6 (Nailed it yesterday, but all chalk) and Big Pete will handle races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" (Again, I nailed mine yesterday) for a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. Make sure you subscribe to the newsletter to receive notifications of new blog posts and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Race 3:
I am going to take a bit of a price in the 3rd race with (5) Make or Break. This horse is remaining on dirt and has shown the ability to close well late in previous dirt races. I think there will be early pace to run into in this one and think that sets up well for this filly. She has also been training consistently well and I do not anticipate her being far off the lead in this one throughout. I think that she has a big chance of running a big one and here and worth a WPS in my opinion.
$5.00 WPS 5 Cost: $15.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
We’ll start the day with Mott in today’s first race. (5) BARISTA VIXEN started her career with some promise closing well for 2nd while posting a big number. Then, went on the shelf for a year. Tried turf, then slop and now gets her dry track. Lezcano returning is a plus and the competition gets a little easier. We’ll use her on top with a couple of closers to start the day off.
$10.00 WPS 5 Cost: $30.00
$7.00 Ex 5 w/ 1,3 Cost: $14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
Linda Rice has two in here that I really like and going to make my best bet (8) Rude Awakening. I think that this horse will be sent immediately to the lead and has proven the ability to remain up there. I thinking this 6 furlongs distance is perfect for this horse and will excel at this level. (3) Cover Photo will most likely sit behind her stablemate and wait for the stretch drive to try and run past. Lezcano has been riding lights out and could set this filly up perfectly and hit the wire first. (7) Fair Regis is a horse that I would like to try and beat in here, but if she runs her race then she will be a tough competitor in here. I think the class drop was necessary and could still have enough left in the tank to take this field.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$3.00 Ex 3,8 w/ 3,7,8 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
(2) Mendham is the type of favorite that I like to try and beat, but no one in this field really looks poised to do that. This means I must include this horse and expect the experience to help this horse graduate. With that said, I am going to take a chance on the firster in (6) Acushla and think that this daughter to Tiznow will be ready to win first time out. As I said above, Lezcano has been on fire and will most likely send this horse to sit right behind the early pace. No one else with experience in here really jumps off the page as being a closer, so this horse may be set up to run by tiring horses late. (11) Stella Mars is my last play here with the stretch out. This horse has been active early in races at 6 furlongs and I think has just run out of gas because of the pace. This stretch out should allow this filly to find her footing better early and not rush her into running a style she does not excel at. I think Dylan will have more stamina left at the stretch drive with this horse than she previously has shown.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,6,11 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
This is going to be a highly competitive race in my opinion and I am not going to overthink it. I landed on three horses in here with the first being the entries of (1/1A). My preferred horse in that is (1A) American Power who I think will enjoy the inside post to find the early lead and not look back. This horse looks to be in good form and could run away with this one. (4) Tale of Silence gets some class relief in here and I think that may pay off with a trip to the winner's circle. This horse has been training extremely well leading into this one and I do not expect rust with almost a year off. This horse could play spoiler in here. (5) Dr Blarney will be instructed to shoot from the gate and try and run on with it. This horse should be able to find the lead and may be able to sustain the lead throughout. This will be a fun race to watch in my opinion.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,5 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
We’ll use four in the first leg as this one came up competitive. (4) VIP NATION has speed and should be able to use it to her advantage. There’s not many in here that will go with her so if Carmouche gives her breathers, she’ll be tough to pass. (7) RAPT doesn’t win often but last time wasn’t his fault. Was asked to close from too far back and still got close I’ like the switch to Trevor and the slight drop. I’ll use on top a these decent odds. (3) GHOST GIANT and (9) SO HIGH look very similar on paper and one or both will be heard from late in the game.
$7.00 WPS 7 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 3,4,7,9 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
(9) MONEY RIDE keeps improving and is a must use for me. Two for two with Cancel up and will likely sit off the pace and come with his kick late. (2) FOOLISH GHOST is your main speed and will prove tough to catch if Davis can nurse him along. The other NY Bred tackling open company is (12) MORE GRAYTFUL. He took some time off and he rewarded Cox with an impressive run in his return. This guy has some back class that make him a major player here. I’ll stick with these three and put a little MORE on GRAYTFUL.
$7.00 WPS 12 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex Box 2,9,12 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
(2) VIOLENTIAM is the Elephant in the room pick. Has two dirt races against much better that would destroy these. Always scary when the trainer drops and puts a for sign sale on them but she looks like a solid favorite. I’ll take a shot on (13) EMPIRES FIRST LADY who draws in. Decarlo got her on track to close well on the turf last time and she now moves back to the dirt and drops. Worth a shot at this price. (1) CAPTIVATING CARA is no speedster but cuts back to a manageable 6F distance and retains Davis. (12) REGAL HONOR is a firster and convinces Manny to stick around for this nightcap.
