We are going to stay consistent with ourselves and have our NY plays on opening day at Aqueduct. We will be keying in on a pair of pick 3 plays that cover the PK6 sequence. We will keep our eyes on the big races running at Keeneland today and provide a joint pick 4 play and may tweet out some plays. I will be focusing in on races 5-7 and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
I have to take a shot against this entry. There appears to be lots of speed in here so the two closers will get a shot to run them down. I’m giving (6) DURKIN’S CALL one more shot. He’s faced better than these throughout his career, but has clearly tailed off this year. Ferraro claimed him three back and Durkin responded with two solid runs. I think the third time is the charm as Cancel returns and they get a dry track.
I’ll use with (2) Topper T and (4) Ryan’s Cat
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
Leading with 3 horses in here with (4) Six Percent being my top pick. I think Reylu will find the early lead and not look back. I also like the entries, but especially (1A) Dark Money as well to be forwardly placed and have a chance to pass late. Last play will be the favorite in (6) Golani Brigade. This horse looks tough on paper, but Chad Brown does struggle in these claiming races. This horse should be able to handle this field, but would like to try and beat.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
We have a bunch of babies in here so I am going to spread out. (2) Secrets Kept closed strongly in her debut and will improve on that effort in this one from what the workouts show. (3) She's A Majestic will be sent to the lead in this one and that is the place to be in these sprints. We should expect an improved effort second time out on grass. (4) Palace Gossip looks to be a firster in here that I would like to try with those workouts. I think this horse is going to be closing strongly late. (7) Kokopelli is from the Clement barn and is on grass; this horse will get a play for me.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 2,3,4,7 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
We will close with four horses in here. (1) Sanctuary City looks to be a strong horse in here and a must play. I think that this horse will be sitting close to the front and be the strongest late. (7) Danfusi is a NY horse that I really like and think that being forwardly placed in this one could get it done. (8) Albie is a closer that I like in this one with Cardenas aboard. I think that this horse will be ready to roll come stretch time. My last play will be (10) CoragesContender who has improved each time out and ran well against the inside horse, (1) Sanctuary City, and with a change in tactic to place this horse forwardly it come equate to a different outcome.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,7,8,10 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Two year old fillies go at it and Curlin has two in here. (4) MALATHAAT is the one I’ll focus on. She was bet heavy in her debut and didn’t disappoint. She can stalk or go, so the break may decide it. Shug has (6) CAFÉ SOCIETY and this gal is bred to run all day. She made 6F look easy and the stretch to 1M will only help. I’ll lean heavier on this one as she’ll be a better price. The “other” Chad is also interesting. (5) SPA READY was only asked to quicken the last furlong last time. She too gets better with distance so I’ll include.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 4, 6 w/ 4, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
Now the boys square off in this 6F sprint. Ward usually turns out sprinters than routers. (5) TRADE DEAL fits the mold. Had a little trouble against G3 company last time and will look for clear sailing today. (1) ARREST ME RED is the one I’ll take a stab at. He blitzed maidens two back in an easy win, then tried to go longer vs Mutasaabeq last time and couldn’t last. The cut back to 6F feels right and should prove to be a handful here. Both of Weavers runners like to come from behind. I’ll include both
(4) WHATMAKESSAMMYRUN and (7) TEXAS BASIN incase the pace heats up and they come back to them.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 4, 5, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
I’ll close it out with four, but I’ll be interested in today’s R7 result. (1) JIMMY JAZZ faced many entrants in that race. If one of them runs big, that may be an indication that Jimmy could be live. He drops slightly here and gets a break in the weights. Both (6) NO SALT and (7) DOUBLY BLESSED are lightly raced 3yr olds finally figuring this game out. I’m expecting one or both to challenge these NW2L bunch through the stretch.
(10) WILD BANKER clearly likes turf more and drops slightly for this. He looks to be the main danger to Jimmy close to home.
