We have a ten race card today at Aqueduct and we are remaining consistent with our pick 3 plays. I will be covering races 5-7 and Big Pete will be covering races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we believe we can maximize on. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive new blog post notifications and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Race 2:
I really like the firster (3) Social Whirl in this one. The horse has been consistently training well and I love Freud horses on grass. I think this horse is going to run a big race first time out and we can use in some exotic plays.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$4.00 Ex 3 w/ 2,8,9 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
(4) DURKIN’S CALL ran well last time but could only manage to get 3rd. The pace was too slow for him to make up a lot of ground late. He needs pace to set up his late kick. I think he gets it today as three or four of these will duke it out. Farraro is off to a good start and Cancel returns. The slight drop will also help. Now over never.
I’ll use with (2) Releasethethunder and (6) Mcerin
$10.00 WPS 4 Cost: $30.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
I am going to go four deep in here, but I really like (4) Opt in here. I think that this horse will be able to close strongest against a fast early pace and find the wire first. Eric Cancel has been heating up lately and expect him to place this horse right behind that early pace and fan out wide down the stretch. (1) Mo Maverick and (2) Freewheeler are going to be two other plays here as I expect both to be sent to the lead or close to it and run past the wire. These two horses can run away from the field, which is the reason I am including both in here. Last play will be (10) Bustin Shout who is coming in from a good win last time out and possesses the speed necessary in here. I think Carmouche will be aggressive from the outside post and this horse should be there late.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,10 w/ 1,2,4,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
(12) Counterparty Risk looks extremely dangerous in here and is a must play for me. I think that Irad will sit behind the early pace and have a convincing stretch drive. With that said, I will be including three others in here. (5) Palamos should like the stretch out and has been training extremely well. I think that this horse will be forwardly placed early and that will assist in running down the field late. (3) Look me Over is another closer in here that I like. This horse has run some pretty good races in her career and I would not be surprised if this is the race that breaks her maiden. I think Dylan will be more aggressive with this horse and makes this horse a play here for me. (4) Alemia will also be a horse that I really like stretching out. I think that there will be some early pace in here to run into and this horse with Rosario will be dangerous late.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,12 w/ 3,4,5,12 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
I am closing with three horses in here with my top selection being (9) Playtone. I think that this horse will be able to pass tiring horses late with a quick early pace and win this one. The Weaver barn looks to be getting back on track and think this horse will be a pretty nice price come post time. (11) Speightstown Gal is the other Weaver horse in here and I am going to try with the move to dirt. I think the speed will translate and Manny will send this horse to the front and dare the others to pass. Last play will be the 6 year old in (4) Fair Regis. Irad has a horse that is in good form and will show early speed from the gate. I think he will be dangerous late.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 4,9,11 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(4) DREAM FRIEND will appear on many tickets today. Some will likely single him. The question is why is he up for sale? That’s usually not a good sign. We’ll include but try to beat him. (5) VOTING CONTROL is also being offered and that’s not Chad’s strong point. Though, he looks like he’s working himself back in shape and Jose returns. I will try to beat them both with (1) MALTHAEL. This guy has speed and I expect Jr to use it right from the first jump. If the top two have issues and take the afternoon off, he just may steal it.
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,4,5 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
(2) WINDFALL PROFIT seems to run for Rosario. They team up again in this NW1X turf event after her best outing to date in her last race. If she takes to the Aqueduct turf, the rest will be running for 2nd money. (5) EYE OF A SOLDIER finished right behind Windfall last time but figures to have company on the lead today. (8) FIERCE SCARLETT is a head scratcher. She was on the shelf for a while before returning to run 2nd in May. Now shows up here for Brown/Irad. We’ll include but try to beat. I have to spend a little money on (9) UNA LUNA. She headed north to face some of these back in Sept and was caught off guard trying to close into a slow pace. She was bet that day and may get overlooked today. A sharp 11/8 bullet indicates she may be on her toes today.
$7.00 WPS 9 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 2,9 w/ 2,5,8,9 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
I’m all in on (3) CLASSY SADIE in the nightcap. She’s been facing better for most of her career and finally moves back to the right level. Her Spa sprint on 8/26 would crush these so I’m looking for her to get back to that on the class relief. (9) SHANNON’S GIRL dropped to this level last time and ran well in the muddy. She hasn’t been on a dry dirt track since January where she won on this track. Davis was up that day too. She’s a major player here. (14) TRIP ROAD will likely go for as long as she can. The first two furlongs will be key if she can get to the front and slow them down. Not impossible as there is not a lot of speed in here. (6) WELL BRUSH MYTOOTH drops slightly for Rice and gets stable rider. That “Bodes” well for this filly.
